The rain darkened the midnight sky and limited Martin’s vision as it cascaded down the windshield of his car in one solid sheet. The wiper blades did very little to clear the waterfall away. The streetlights refracted through the water and blinded Martin every few seconds. He could not see clearly, even so, he still drove too fast.

Martin fiddled with the car radio and switched from station to station…
