As an author, I know that it can be hard getting your book noticed. If people don't notice your book, it can have quite the negative impact on you, especially when you have worked so long to write your book.

That's where Jason B. Ladd's Book Review Bonzai comes in.

Giving you step-by-step instructions on how to best get your book noticed, it's a really useful and simple to understand guide on how best to approach getting your books seen and acknowledged.

Even if you aren't great with computers, Jason B Ladd has made the steps as easy to understand for beginners as possible.

Also, the book isn't that long, either, so it's straight and to the point.

Very useful for old and new authors alike!

Note: I received a free/reduced price copy of this book with no obligation to post a review.

Great over-view of contacting bloggers and building relationships. Light on the actual mechanics - you got pointed to resources but not given much direction on how to use them. However, if you are fairly tech-savvy you can work it out. I suspect buying the course Jason points to would be very worthwhile for people writing for income. Good book and well worth the money.

I got it on a free offer and it's currently priced 99p, which is fair enough. But this is not a book on how to achieve book review miracles. Basically, the advice is: find bloggers and reviewers in the right genre, use technology to help, but personalise your approaches with review copies, and then sign up to the author's course. Like so many "books" of advice for authors, it could fill a blog post, but it comes with padding. There's apparently a lot of money to be made with short non-fiction books for authors on how to write, launch, market, re-launch and get reviews for their books.

Very useful information which I did not know.

I'm going to give it a try. I follow a similar system so I'm familiar with SPAM laws, unsubscribes, and Google sheets. I use an add on called Yet Another Mail Merge which has great functionality so I won't be moving to Gmass because the principles are similar. I already have a list of bloggers that I can use but I haven't heard of the web extraction tools he mentions so that's good to know for when I need more. Also I like the idea of personalizing your reach out email. I think this is something you can ask a freelancer on Fiverr to do for you as long as you speak the same language.

A good guide book and method for Indie authors, or even those going through the traditional route of publishing to garner reviews, in order to get their work out there - noticed, acknowledged, and of course, ultimately, purchased.

I received a free reduced price copy of this book with no obligation to post a review.

Insightful, clear and easily understandable. I think this is a great book for independent authors and I look forward to applying what I have read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new book review system
Reviewed in Australia on 24 March 2018
Jason Ladd has put together a very clever package to get book reviews. More specifically, it is an amazing system for getting people to write book reviews because they want to. The system is relatively simple and basically free. A must-have for anyone needing reviews for Amazon or any other books.

5.0 out of 5 stars get the on-line reviews your book deserves
Reviewed in the United States on 4 July 2017
If you’re reading Jason Ladd’s new book, it’s probably because you’re writing one of your own. And if you write, you want someone (preferably lots of someones) to read it. When I blog (fairly rarely, but still) I’m writing and hoping that someone will read what I’ve taken the time to write.
And that’s Jason’s premise in Book Review Banzai: The Unknown Author’s Ultimate Guide to Getting Amazon Reviews (Boone Shepherd LLC, 2017). It’s a short read, and Ladd has an engaging writing style. I’m not very techno savvy, but even some of the technical stuff seems doable the way he describes and explains it.
I happen to have a young adult living in my house who can help me with some of that techie stuff, importing, extractions, spread sheets and the rest, so while he’s doing that, I can use some of the other techniques that Jason talks about to find the right people to read the book and write a review. The title should have given you that clue.
Most people who I know have a book waiting to be written, but like me they don’t know where to start with the fun stuff that comes after the book is written: getting it sold. I like to read, and I notice that a lot of the books that I buy have an invitation to write a review and post it on my blog, but also, and especially on Amazon and other sites. I do that frequently, and as a result often get asked to read and review a book. (Free books, YAY!!!) But it never really dawned on me just how important those amazon reviews are when it comes to marketing the book.
So in a nutshell, this book is about finding the people that will read your book, and post the reviews that make Amazon and other online booksellers sit up and take notice (and when they notice, your book goes to the top of the list—can’t beat that for part of your marketing strategy.
Is it easy? Probably not, but if you’ve gone to the effort to write the book, and you want others to read it, you better be willing to invest the time.
And just so you know, Jason follows his own advice. He ‘found’ me and asked me to review his book. What are the connections? I frequently review books on my blog, and because he checked my profile, he’s seen that I retired from the Air Force. That military connection gave him something with which to personalize his emails. (That’s how he got me to review his book One of the Few)
He also suggests that the author be willing to offer review copies of the ebook for free. Some of them go out before the release date, and sometimes you have to be willing to offer the free ebook even after publication. This is another tip he follows: Book Review Banzai is free on Amazon from 4-6 July.
That’s right, you can get your own free copy of the ebook from the 4th to the 6th of July. Head to amazon dot com, next Tuesday morning, and start using Jason’s techniques to market your book on Tuesday afternoon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stand Back And Let Me Yell...
Reviewed in the United States on 6 July 2017
Okay, so right off the bat let me tell you folks that I received this book through a free giveaway, with absolutely no obligation to post a review.

But come on. How can you sit down and read a book about how to get book reviews without feeling the itch to write your very own review. That is just not how I roll. I get a free book on ANY sort of book marketing techniques and I just feel the urge to yell about it a little bit.

So stand back and let me yell.

First off, this is a VERY well written handbook. The prose was comfortable and easy to digest. I got the feeling I was sitting down over a cold beer with the author, listening to him show me the way.

A lot of what he said made a lot of sense.

Some of his later advice left me feeling like I was suffering from a technical disadvantage. Some of you folks out there without much of a knack might feel a little daunted by the technical end of his advice. That isn't the author's fault. That's my own fault.I just don't have the time, energy, or little gray cells left to learn one more dang new program.

But - like I said - a lot of what this fellow talked about made a lot of good and practical sense, so I'd recommend giving this book a once-over.

The reason I held off on the full five star treatment was because of one his last chapters which basically said that if I wanted to learn more about his Book Review Banzai techniques that I needed to sign up for his course. That rankled me a little. Still, there is a lot of inspiring advice that is bound to kindle your inner promotional genius.

All right, so that "kindle" pun was completely intentional.

Now I have to go outside and swing a sledgehammer to break up a walkway that I am attempting to replace.

So like I said - stand back and let me yell.

    Yours in storytelling,

    Steve Vernon

There's a lot here for even a previously published author to consider. Although will readers still feel inclined to leave a review? I honestly don't know, but Book Review Banzai gives you a solid outline on how to increase your chances.
