When Twilight Falls: Spirits Wake As Nightmares Die Kindle Edition
They were its target, its victims, given no choice but to walk the footpath that led to the archway, to enter into a world where they were forced to relive their darkest nightmares. The archway was the doorway to Hell, an entrance into the deepest recesses of the mind.It was a place where reality became blurred and the truth was lost. The residents of Tansley Close seemed ordinary enough to outsiders.
Behind closed doors, they lived in fear of the terror that awaited them as they were drawn inexhaustibly into the vortex.
As a host of characters face their innermost fears causing them to question their very being, the vortex is drawing them forever in.
Indeed you’ll meet the unusual residents of Tansley Close, for instance single mom Trisha and imaginary friend Mandy; Kirk the murderer; Mavis Adams, her husband Stan and son Clayton released from the psychiatric hospital; Les Crowley, an old man who is the gatekeeper and puppet maker; and Joan Lipton the witch with her 13 black cats.
Strangely, no one ever asked why they stayed, what kept them there.
Maybe there was no answer, or at least not one they wanted to give. Something bad was about to happen.
The vortex held many secrets. Why did it need from the occupants of the Close and what was its purpose?
Tansley Close was watching and waiting.
When twilight falls the nightmares begin.

About the author

I am originally from Staffordshire in England UK, although now I reside in North Wales since relocating at the turn of the millennium.
I have always been fascinated by the supernatural. Whilst researching the infamous Loch Ness monster, I discovered Teggie another sea creature steeped in mystery and legend. This inspired me to put pen to paper and write my first book Teggie Lucy's Story.
As a keen Independent film maker at the start of 2016 I began working on a Teggie screen play with the talented writer and director Troy Dennison. As a keen and up and coming actor it was agreed I would take the character of Ben in the film once production began.
Previously I played the hotel manager in an award winning British film called "Checking In" during 2014.
Over the years I've tried my hand at many jobs. I've worked at fast food restaurants, hotels, estate agents, a postman and even in retail management.
I've always been happiest when involved in the creative arts. For fifteen years I volunteered as a radio presenter for hospital radio, which meant playing requests to those unfortunate enough to be in hospital.
I've worked as a supporting artist on many productions including Doctor Who, Coronation Street and Peaky Blinders.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2017This book was full of interesting characters, I especially liked the cat lady, and the awful Kirk, when he went into the vortex and got what he deserved. A great read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2017On the surface, Tansley Close seems like any other place. Below the radar, it has secrets too inexplicable and terrifying for the outsiders to understand. Something's coming.
I particularly liked this book because, despite its focus on the darkness and evil that lurks it also boasts characters that were relatable. There was a realness about them which was a welcome contrast to the predicament they've found themselves in. The story also swept me along at a ridiculously frenetic pace. I literally couldn't put it down.
I would recommend this book to those readers who like a good scary read with well adapted characters and people you actually want to care about.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 May 2017In the small town of Prestatyn, North Wales, the people who live in Tansley Close share a secret. Nine houses are spread in a circle overlooking the green, every house connected to a path that leads to the archway, doorway to an infinite portal. Two houses remain empty.
Roger D. Francis spins a terrifying tale as a host of characters face their deepest fears and darkest nightmares in the vortex. You’ll meet Seth, a 7 year old boy, who lives with his single mom Trisha and imaginary friend Mandy; Kirk Wilder the rapist and murderer and his dog Pep; Bev, her son Ray Willis and daughter-in-law Sadie; Jack and his pregnant wife Carrie Whitehouse; Mavis Adams, her husband Stan and son Clayton released from the psychiatric hospital; Les Crowley, an old man who is the gatekeeper, puppet maker, and eater of pigeons; and Joan Lipton the witch with her 13 black cats. Roger Francis skillfully weaves a tale with suspense and gory, culminating in an ending where they meet their fate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creepy Crawly Fun Read
A bit Stephen Kingish, I loved it. Creepy, crawly feel to it. A bit twisted and a bit lurid. It would make a great movie. I read it in 4 days. Once I started reading, I wanted to find out what was happening. I see a real sequel opportunity here as well.
