One of these has got to go...
The story of Yelena, her relationship with Bellatrix and how they met the Bethany Anne while the two were trying to save her brother from a Wechselbalg.
And beer...Let's not forget the beer.
For fans of The Kurtherian Gambit series and world. This is set between books 13 and 14 in The Kurtherian Gambit and explains how Ashur's mate Bellatrix comes to be in the group.
And why Bellatrix knows how to properly respond to terrorists in outer space. (For those who LOVED that scene!)
I love you all!

About the authors
Michael Anderle (ok, weird talking about myself in the 3rd person) (1967-Hopefully a long time from NOW) was born in Houston, Tx. A very curious child, he got into trouble - a lot. What to do with an inquisitive mind when he was grounded? Read!
Ok, done with all of that 3rd person stuff.
In the first 20 years, I mostly read Science Fiction and Fantasy. In the last 10 years I have enjoyed Urban Fantasy and Military Fiction. With this background, I've been blessed with creating The Kurtherian Gambit series, a well-selling, and fan loved, collection of stories.
The fans have propelled these stories beyond my wildest imagination and they should get all of the credit for sharing with friends, family and occasionally the random person on the street. They are fantastic!
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 November 2023Great novella with the wonderful Bellatrix. We definitely need more from Ashur and Bella and the puppies they are going to have.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 January 2017Since discovering Michael Anderle (last Monday), I have read the whole series of the Kurtherian Gambit and am now beginning to read the offshoot books. (Have to love retirement!).Absolutely loved the humour, the action and was surprised and delighted with the real wisdom. All of t.he above kept me glued to the series despite the shockingly bad editing. As a self-confessed word nerd, grammar geek and fully paid up member of the Apostrophe Appreciation society can I beg someone to particularly recognise the difference between' your'( possessive pronoun ) and you're ,( you are) ? As stated, still love the writing and am looking forward to much more. Thanks for the enjoyment!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 March 2018working my way through the series, good stuff
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 December 2016So now I know where Bellatrix came from - I had been wondering.
There is one crossover to the main The Kurtherian Gambit storyline that I don't remember seeing in book 14, maybe Michael will integrate that into later volumes.
It's nic to see this fleshing out of side stories, I'm looking forward to seeing what Natalie adds next.
This is the first collaboration that I've read in this storyverse (is that a word?), I shall try some of the others too.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 March 2017Re-read Bellatrix while waiting for Risk Be Damned to come out. I love the writing style, it gels well with Michael Anderles books of TKG. & I loved the storyline, Ashur may get a lot of book space but Bellatrix is for me. If you have not read any of the other books in this series (The Kurtherian Gambit, please please please look at Death Becomes her by Michael Anderle.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 June 2020I love the back stories. Puts things in context. What am I going to do when i come to the end?
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2016A fun story that filled in some blanks but I do feel it should have been released before book 14 of the Kutherian gambit series, it would have made for a smoother story arc.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2020Cute cozy story with 2 romance mixed in, including Bellatrix of course. Love this Can't wait to read more. JL

5.0 out of 5 stars BELLATRIX
Once again, a great story about the Unknown World! I especially loved it because it was about a mate for Ashur. N it looks like maybe for Bobcat too? Lol.. Thanks for your fantastic work sharing these stories!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
Although this is very short, I love this story. Bellatrix and Yelena are very similar to Bethany Anne and Ashur. You must read this, it will make you happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some times the small, have bigger hearts.
Well, I enjoyed this, I was wondering if they got the wrong guy from the start, it was nice seeing the happy ending, I knew from KGS that Bobcat and her were a thing, but this paints a little bit different picture, then I expected. Loved Beatrix more in this story, in other stories, you get the impression she just wants puppies, but this shows it differently. Gave her more spunk and personality. Courageous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute treasure
Okay, the story explained how the girl dog came into the picture which I truly appreciate. But the ending had me grinning from ear to ear. Way too cute. I absolutely love the ending. Best of the little mini novel. Perfect
