A Ghost In The Theatre (Ruby And Nessa - Ghost Hunters Book 5) Kindle Edition
It’s a well-known fact that the Mill Street Theatre is haunted. And everyone knows the building closes for cleaning work during the first week in September every year. But this is a cover-up. The theatre closes because the hauntings escalate during that week, bringing a threat to human life.
The owner decides these hauntings have to be investigated, and any ghosts dealt with. The Laurel sisters offer their help. Their investigations lead them to a heartbreaking story.

About the author

I'm an avid fan of mystery stories. I started reading Agatha Christie novels at an early age. My favourite fiction detective is Poirot, I love his fussy ways and his attention to small details. I love the TV series, 'Murder,She Wrote' and have watched every episode. I like working out who the killer is, and what the clues are.
I live in Yorkshire in England with my family.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2016A local theatre is having problems with unusual incidents and the manager calls in our intrepid heroes plus a couple of other group who said they can solve the mystery. However he decided that social media is the way to drum up interest in the place and asked all of them to record their findings and post on-line everyday. During an interview with the manager, Ruby and Nessa see their first of several ghosts in the place. Both are affected by the atmosphere and even get attacked. They have to work to discover the history of the place and find some of the older employees to locate the spirits/ghosts that are haunting the place. Really enjoyed reading this book and the sad/happy finish for some of the ghosts was amazing. This book is an excellent read for a gentle type of story with elements of humour and witty remarks. Looking forward to the next, if this standard is kept up.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 October 2016It has been a long time since a book made me cry from sadness and joy. I loved this book it had everything, ghosts, sad bits, happy bits, funny bits and even more details on the characters. I am really looking forward to the next one. Thank you Gillian Larkin for such an entertaining read. Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 February 2019I really enjoyed reading this book I didn't want to put it down it usually takes me awhile to read a book I'm easily distracted but not with this one .I 've read 3 out of 5 of this series so far.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2017An entertaining read although I much prefer the main characters in Gillian's other books to the two females in this series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 December 2016I have come to really like Ruby and Nessa and I love mysteries in a theatre setting, so what was there not to like here? I really didn't guess the ending at all and it was interesting that Ruby and Nessa met up with some other ghost hunters - I hope they appear again!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2016I love this series & agree it's the best so far. The sisters relationship is building nicely & the story progressed well, taking turns in different directions with a nice mix between the paranormal & a good mystery (or mysteries in this case). Can't wait for the next one!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 February 2019this is the first book i have read about ruby and nessa's ghost hunting activities and i'm afraid it will be my last.
badly written, boring , with nothing scary at all that could give rise to anything resembling cold chills or goosebumps.
worst of all was their feeble attempts to bring humour and wit into the dialogue, it was neither funny nor clever,
just downright annoying, and very childish.
extremely disappointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars so much fun!
These stories are so much fun and so original. I’m so sad that the author has stopped writing them. Hopefully she will come back to them in the near future.

4.0 out of 5 stars gotta love a pair of ghost hunting sisters
this is not a deep, nor a long, novel - but it does have a certain charm & spunk. i enjoyed the playfulness between this pair of sisters and the ghost story was fun. a lovely, spirited, light read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ghostly Love!?
I was 'dead' wrong! A full length Ruby and Nessa story was just the ticket.
Ruby and Nessa are at it again, finding, confronting and helping ghosts. This time they are in a vintage theatre that case study ,has said September for a special haunting. Enter an evil witch, five sympathetic Clairs and a vaudeville act and you've got the start of another great adventure.
I was sure that the Ruby and Nessa short stories were my favorite guilty pleasure......but like I said at the beginning, I was dead wrong.
Anyone who likes clever regular women with a bit of sass will love this new series from Gillian Larkin!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful ghost mystery solved my the sisters that can see the ghosts!
A Ghost In The Theatre (Ruby And Nessa - Ghost Hunters Book 5) by Gillian Larkin is another great ghost book with Ruby and Nessa, the ghost hunting sisters that can see ghosts. These books always have a great mystery to them and make a great ghost read. Esp. when the sisters can see the ghosts and others can't and in this case, there are "ghost catchers" there at the theatre. It is a lovely read as always, I truly enjoy these books.
