How To Get Into Shape After 35 Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 42 ratings

Being in mid 30's when I got serious about my fitness, health, training and eating, and when I retrained as a personal trainer, it was difficult to find much information on what I should be doing as most of the articles and training programmes out there are for blokes in their 20s looking for six packs and big muscles.
This was not what I was after. I wanted to know how to start getting into the best shape possible to be hitting my 40s in a few years time as I could feel my body getting softer, slower and changing in general (for example, I couldn't eat or drink the same way as my body reacted different and took longer to get over drinking alcohol or eating junk food), so I knew something needed to change.
So over the past 10 years, I have done all the research, made all the mistakes and found the best ways to train and eat in order to set myself, and my clients, up for hitting our 40s, 50s and beyond the best possible shape. All without spending endless hours in the gym or depriving yourself of all the food and drink we all enjoy. To make things easier I have put it all down in writing, so that you can get the basics of what you need to do to reach your goals.

This book didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. It reinforced it though and explained things very well. With all the conflicting advice out there this is the best book I’ve read which condensed everything important about being healthy. A brilliant book for anyone who needs a start on their transformation, or anyone who just needs to hear it all again to give themselves a motivational push.
I could not recommend this book enough and I read it twice before reviewing it, not because it was difficult to understand, far from it, but because it was so simple and correct

Great book and a very interesting read. The diet advice and flexible fitness regime works really well. The recipe ideas are healthy, delicious and manageable and worked well with my day to day routine. Highly recommended - especially if you need it to fit in with a busy lifestyle.

Interesting reading, but it doesn't tell you anything you don't deep down already know. The trouble is most of us choose to ignore it, because it's down to our lifestyle and the way we are "conditioned" to think about health and fitness. It does help you to stop, rethink and refocus on this topic. Generally points you in the right direction.

This book is both excellent and somewhat fraudulent: it's free, but shouldn't be. I found far more value here than in most of what I pay good money for. Anyone who needs (not just vaguely aspires to) a healthier, better body, will benefit from this. It's well written, by someone who knows what they're talking about, free of verbose padding, and resonates.

If you're currently training and working hard, like me, I found that this book has really helped to refocus my mind and get my head back in the game. It's reminded me to take a look at what I'm currently doing and iron out the bad habits that naturally creep back in when you're part of a long term training programme. I have been reminded of the reasons why I started this journey in the first place and have regained my hunger to strive for progress and results. A book that you can keep referring to time and time again. A health & fitness must read!

Really excellent, just needed to get back to doing stuff again and this has really inspired me to train much smarter again , as time is precious , run off my feet , this all makes sense and i am feeling real benefits from making the changes already. So easy to follow .

The majority of this book makes sense and I have taken a few lifestyle tips away from it.

This book makes you look at food differently. The food that you believe is good for you is not always.
