Day of Reckoning: A Lucas Wade Western - Book 3 Kindle Edition
The previous two books in the series, Just Compensation and Gunfighter’s Justice, spent months on the Amazon Top 10 List of Classic Westerns. Raylan McCrae has been favorably compared by readers and critics to Zane Grey and Louis L’Amour. If you’ve not yet read the Lucas Wade series, Day of Reckoning is the perfect place to begin. Raylan McCrae continues to write about a wide open West, where freedom is personified by men willing to take a life and death stance for what they want or what they believe in. As always, in Day of Reckoning McCrae blends an action packed drama with humor and spice that will keep you turning pages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raylan saved the best for book #3...Teriffic!!!!
Lucas Wade, Marshal of Spencer, Wyoming is waiting on the arrival of the Union Pacific from Cheyenne. Receiving a telegram from the Marshal in Cheyenne, Lucas is looking for Ham Wabash who broke out of the Yuma prison. Wabash is a thief, murderer, rapists & rustler...a regular bad guy & has a good reason to visit Spencer as Lucas is the one who planted his little brother Harvey & Ham is set to avenge his brother's death. With his two friends, Bobby "Two Gun" Wilkinson & Curtis Washington, Ham feels pretty confident. Wade is prepared to take all three but one of the passenger's disembarking the train decides the famous Lucas Wade might appreciate a little assistance. Lucas will learn later after Ham Wabash & his cohorts are dispatched to the other side that his "helper" is Lloyd Canton from Santa Fe. This will not be their last meeting.
Lucas will find himself in the middle of the Big Cattle conglomerate & the smaller ranchers & homesteaders. Big Cattle has plans to take over the open Wyoming range & squeeze out or erase the little guys. Lucas soon learns that nothing will stop these hungry land grabbers & they aren't above murder & stoop so low as to hang a woman rancher branding her a cattle rustler.
It's a powder keg & who knows when it will blow. Things are building to a crescendo that will keep you on the edge of your seat frantically turning the last pages to see how it ends.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Lucas Wade Winner!
Raylan McCrae has done it again with another adventure of Lucas Wade and the beautiful Nellie! Again, the narrative flows with the author's hard-boiled style of the Old West with a touch of the East creeping in. Lucas Wade is Jack Reacher with Spurs!
Can't wait for #4, he might even get "lucky". I hope so......

5.0 out of 5 stars Range war, murdered kids and women and greedy corporate ranch managers threaten everyone, large and small..
When none of the large private ranches join the wealthy corporate four, the independent men who fought renegades, rustlers, drought and blizzard become prime targets along with small landholders and farmers. And when the corporation leaders bring in outside gunmen to swell the ranks of their riders to more than a hundred, when a lone widow is hanged, when a family and small children murdered, when buildings are burned and fake rustling charges and political favors used to shield the guilty, the gloves come off and it becomes a page-turning wild ride to justice and through justice. Grand writing style and fascinating twists and turns. Well worth the time.

5.0 out of 5 stars So great to see successful authors writing westerns
So great to see successful authors writing westerns. There are a lot of new titles out there in this Genre, but many of the authors are painfully inexperienced and it shows in their novels. Raylan McCrae is a great author who decided to write some western novels. Characters and plot are well developed, the story is most interesting, easy to read and you'll love the protagonist and those he holds dear. This is the third in the series and the other two should be read before this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bravo for westerns
This story has something for every western reader. Action, good versus evil, cowboys, bars, greed, justice for all, and even some humor. Lucas Wade takes it directly to the bad guys and often doles out justice through the barrel of his .45. I liked the courtroom action at the end. Good stuff.
