The Many: The Many #1 Kindle Edition
Karl notices something odd about his sister the morning after a blind date. A coldness in her manner; nothing anyone else would notice. Suspicious, he confronts her about the date but she turns nasty, accusing him of taking a perverse interest in her sex life.
When he next sees her, months later, she seems back to normal, until a harmless comment provokes a sudden, violent response. As her mental state fluctuates, Karl seeks out the man she dated just before her personality began to change, convinced she is suppressing a painful memory from that night. But what he discovers is something far more sinister, and pervasive, than he'd ever imagined.
Strictly for adult readers, THE MANY is the first book of a trilogy that explores the dark side of the world we live in, and sheds light on a shadowy evil that is both disturbing and eerily familiar.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 January 2017What made me read this book was a review by another reader who said I can't believe I left this so long to read, this piqued my interest and I have to say I'm glad I requested this title as well, the story starts off about
Karl and his sister Stacey, Karl is staying with his sister at her flat whilst he looks for a job, they get on fine until Stacey goes on a blind date with an enigmatic doctor and doesn't return until the morning, once shes back Karl notices shes changed and not for the better. I won't say anymore as I don't want to give the plot away but it is a real eye opener into the society we live in now and how easy its is to manipulate lonely people. This is book one and I can't wait to see where Nathan Field will take us all next.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2016I would not have come across this book if not for a recommendation .
certainly glad I didn't miss it.
The story gripped me from the beginning. I had no idea how this book was going to pan out. I was on edge the whole way through. There were plenty of twists, turns and shocks.
Look forward to reading more from this author!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 March 2021Three interlinked books with a disturbing and creepy plot. The first book sees Karl and Dawn pledge to gain revenge and bring down "The Many" after losing their sister and mother in horrific circumstances, both following on from an online date. Although no one believes their theory of a faceless cult infiltrating powerful establishments, they soon realise they may be fighting a losing battle. The book had a predatory feel and made me feel uncomfortable where I was meant to, due to graphically described violent and sexual exploitation scenes.
The second book sees Karl and Dawn go on the run and trying to find more information in order to bring down the disturbing cult, whilst their every move is being watched. Although the second book dragged in some places, I felt that the characters were developed in much more detail and the twist at the end made it well worth the read.
The third book sees the reasoning behind the mind controlling cult and their purpose, including the establishment of the European School. However, the sudden historical unraveling of reasons behind the cult at the very end was sudden and forced, meaning I had a number of unanswered questions once I had finished.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the story but I felt disappointed once I found out who "The Many" were and their reason for wanting to procreate.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 September 2016The Many by Nathan Field
Karl and his sister Stacey end up sharing a flat once they've moved out of their Mother's home, they get along ok until 1 night Stacey goes on a blind date. She meets a tall handsome English Dr and after not going home from the date, she changes. Unfeeling, nasty and mean, very unlike her and Karl knows something has happened. After an eventful Christmas visit home he convinces her to go for therapy. That's when things are highlighted and some of the truth comes out.
Abductions and strangers, weird happenings. Then a friendship and trust, hard work but worth it.
Very good leading book, once I got going I needed to know what was coming next, part one just opened it all up. Great book.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 January 2017This is a fantastic read. Really gripping psychological thriller. Well-written, steadily-paced with interesting, multi-faceted characters. I loved how it kept you guessing right up to the end and the final twist/revelation on the very last page is brilliant. I don't want to go into specific story details as I don't want to give anything away, suffice to say, I hope there's a sequel! If you like horror that's realistic and believable - a la Stephen King style - I'd definitely recommend this page turner! Not many books leave you with unanswered questions but this one is unique in that it gives the readers' imagination free reign to reach their own conclusion rather than tie up all the loose ends for you.
I received an advance e-copy of this book from Net Galley and Silvermac Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2017From reading the other reviews I was very much looking forward to this book however it definitely did not live up expectations. The story started off well enough and it did grab my attention. However, as the book went on the writing style began to grind on me, some sections sounded like they were written by an adolescent boy. I feel I have to mention the strong and somewhat graphic language used in the book. I am not easily offended by swearing in books if it is relevant to the storyline or character but it was downright random at stages of this book and added nothing to the story. For example (and without giving away any spoilers if you are inclined to read this book) using a swear word to describe the size of a house is lazy writing and added nothing to the story. There were several silly errors throughout the book so I think it could have benefited from more thorough editing. With regards to the story itself, there was hints of a big conspiracy but this is not explored and the last few chapters of the book seemed to rush everything in without properly explaining the who or why's of what was going. Presumably this was to set up for other books to follow in the series but nothing in this book made me inclined to want to read anything else by this Author unfortunately.

5.0 out of 5 stars IMPRESSIVE PAGE TURNER
This was an impressive page turner that was hard to put down. Yes there were a couple of editing errors but for sheer entertainment the story overwhelmed that minor criticism. I think there is a strong case for a sequel to take this storyline into a new phase.
The author really knows how to build suspense and keep you engaged - much more than most of the popular thriller writers of the day.
Lets hope there is more from this author in the pipeline.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, creepy, and then eh.
Oh, I'm wishy washy in this rating. I'm somewhere between 3.5 and 4. This one sucked me in. I was completely invested. It got really creepy and I was totally loving it but then something happened. The last 4th just flopped a little. I still managed a WTF and a well I didn't expect that but it was the kind of didn't expect that moment that detracts from the rest. I wish this would have kept more of the sci fi aspects in it but sadly it just didn't go that way completely. Anyway, still a good read and I look forward to book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow
I chose this book on a whim, not entirely sure I would enjoy it, but I thought it was absolutely fantastic. I was gripped not too long after starting and couldn't wait to continue and finish

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! My mind is blown!
Wow! My mind is blown! So many twists and turns! I never know what's gonna happen next. You may think you have it figured out but then something happens and well there goes that theory! Lots of action and mystery happening. I can't wait to find out how it ends!
