Prophet: Book One (Princes of Prophecy 1) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 307 ratings

This is a continuation from the MC Series. The Little Brothers are all grown up. I recommend reading the MC before this one so you have the background characters and information.
Raised by a father who is somewhat reserved, Dakota Lightfoot finds a whole new world when he is patched in to the Princes of Prophecy. With his abilities and natural leadership, he quickly finds his home with this new Brotherhood.
Jessie LaPonte-James has always known he would be part of a trio, much as his father, Danny, and Kate are, and always believed that Darren would be by his side with Jess Baxter.
But what happens when one of the three isn’t as in-tune with the plan as the others?
This is the story of Jess, Dakota and Jessie.

Full content visible, double tap to read brief content.

L. Ann started with the Baxters and followed that with multiple series and genres. While her books feature paranormal, FBI, ex-military and Badass Bikers, L. Ann is writing about the strong women that these men need in their life to help right the world’s wrongs and keep their small part of the world safe. The women are extraordinary, strong and determined to make a difference.

The men fight for right in every book. Yes, they kill people. Yes, the MC shoots at the bad guys’ feet to cause them pain. Yes, some throw tampons at each other regularly. That being said, they do these things while stopping human trafficking and experimentation, bringing their world into legitimate businesses, fighting gangs to keep drugs away from their towns and kids, keep women sheltered safely while trying to stop domestic abuse. These are men that don’t leave a pack, team member or Brother behind. They don’t treat women as possessions and they don’t cheat. Respect takes on an honorable meaning. Women and kids are cherished. Everyone is looked out for and everyone is equal.

L. Ann has made amazing worlds, tackled the taboo subjects and made it easy to imagine living in a world where your protection comes from the vampires, shifters, freaky kids, albinos and orientals, military turned FBI and some Badass Bikers.

With readers writing about rereading the series over and over, she feels like she’s told her characters’ stories in a way that would make them proud. Every book will make you laugh, every book will make you angry for the wrong that happens in the world. Every book will make you cry for the pain that a character feels.

Every book gives you hope that we may just get it right yet.

This is the start of a new era for the members of the Princes of Phrophecy. Brought up in the brotherhood of the Badass Bikers the lessons they've learnt are put into practice straight away. Little Ben is the Prez, Darren the VP and Jessie SAA.
The first book is about Jessie and Jess Baxter and their third Dakota. Altho this isn't who Jessie envisioned sharing his wife with, but the connection between the three is undeniable.
This is also not just about these three, rather the beginning of a new brotherhood and their fight to stand alone from the "rents". Of course things never go smoothly but it's the journey they take to become the men they are supposed to be.
Absolutely love this authors work and once again her writing is inspired. Her 'freaky' kids are up to their usual exploits and what follows is an amazing journey with some extraordinary men and women.
Will make you laugh and cry. Not to be missed. Definite must read.

Great start to the adventures of the kids we have seen grow up from the MC. I must admit I read the blurb with a bit of a sinking heart as love Darren and hated to think things were going to go wrong. And was not sure how I was going to feel about Dakota. But like the kids I should have trusted in Tess saying it all works out! No spoilers but it does not take many pages before you are on team Dakota. Another well written action and love filled book. With the added bonus of laughs from the 'rents too.
Always loved the fact L Ann writes about strong men but even stronger women.
Something you don't find in every MC romance.

Can't wait for the next one.....

WOW I cannot recommend this book or even this author enough . Reading about the next generation of strong men finding their way in life and brotherhood but don't worry the rents ( parents) still appear to guide them but also to be put in their place lol when they forget their kids have grown into great men . The romance between Dakota , jess and jessie is beautiful and great to follow through the bumps in the road

I'd recommend to read the MC series and Baxters series before this, for better background of all characters involved throughout the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Here!!!

I am so happy the Princes of Prophecy are here. Book one Prophet was amazing. I enjoyed the younger generation coming into their own. The "Dads" are hilarious, talk about empty nest syndrome! I was kind of sad about Darren and Jessie not working out but Dakota and Jessie are a wonderful team. They work well together and Jessie has Dakota's back, always. I found Point of View from Jess lacking but I can hardly wait for the next book. Ms Marie heartwarming writing as usual.

5.0 out of 5 stars make sure you read them all
Reviewed in Australia on 3 February 2017
I first started by reading MC: Knight and then realised that I wanted the whole story and that started with the Baxter's .. although the first books didn't have a lot of crossovers they did set the scene for what is to come in the other books as the stories move along so their importance to the series' as a whole cannot be overstated

I have just read the 22 books to date back to back in the order published on the author's website and decided to review them as a whole. I really don't think they stand well as stand alones as there are too many common threads, too much history and too much character crossover for that so it really is one (very) long story over a very long period of time with each series concentrating on a particular character group but including all of the others (except for the initial Baxter books which didn't have a lot of MC action but did set the scene for a lot of what is to come).

I loved every book although of course some more than others but i am giving an overall five star rating. My biggest issue was that sometimes (often) i found it difficult to be sure exactly who was talking and had to reread sections to try to work it out. I think that perhaps what the author is seeing in her head moves a bit too fast to translate well to the written word for some of us (something like the thoughts of some of her characters - you need to read the stories to understand my thought process here!!)

My other issue was keeping my head straight with the cast of thousands (and this is not an exaggeration) ... with each story building on to what has come before and what will come to be and with most characters continuing to play a place in each consecutive story I found myself constantly stopping to think - now who was that, whose child is that, whose partner is that???? but even amongst that confusion I loved the relationships and the strengths they provided.

The author has an amazing imagination and has brought to the table a fantastic story that i will continue to read and at some point will def read again. I have always loved and had an interest in native american philosophy and also in paranormal and psychic connections and love the way these are ingrained into the books as the stories unfold.

Although there were some things that caused me slight annoyances I cannot deny that as a whole this fits as one of the best series i have enjoyed. my thanks to the author for providing such a thoroughly engaging tale

As always, this author does not disappoint. The story kept my interest from start to finish with well developed characters, Brothers and intriguing storyline. I have read her other books and while this can be a standalone , you will get so much more enjoyment if you read the others. I felt like I was visiting old friends and meeting new ones at the same time. Thank you.

Loved Jessie, Jess and Dakota's story. I was disappointed that Jess's point of view was not given, and she had a very small part.

The Prince's are settling into their new town. Dakota " Eagle Eye" Lightfoot met the little brothers as a child when the MC,'s helped rescue them from an attack. He decides to join the Princes believing in their vision of a better tomorrow. He is a seer with some other talents. Pilot and ran his own security firm, which is now part of the Princes He had lived a fairly isolated life on the reservation and has a learning curve dealing with the brothers and integrating his advisors into the Princes. He is the officer who acts as liaison between the Princes and city officials, oversees security and training along with Jessie.

Jessie LaPointe-James is the the Sergeant of Arms for the Princes and has been by Little Ben's side his whole life. He is drawn to Dakota, and his protector when his difficulty with touch becomes known. He is an officer in security and oversees the brother and sisters training.

Jessica "Jess" Baxter has been waiting for the Princes to settle in their new town. She and Jessie have been dating for over a year and is looking forward to reuniting with him.

Jessie always thought it would be him, Jess and Darren, but is shocked to find Darren and Jess don't feel the same. Dakota is drawn to Jess, and her him. Little Ben gives Jessie a nudge in his direction, with the words of a vision. With the help of Patches list and advice from Uncle Danny Jessie and Jess start dating Dakota.

Issues with the Mayor, Chief of Police and the drug lord whose dealers ran out of town, keep Jessie and Dakota busy. Keeping the brothers in line is another headache. Then there are the parents lending a hand, a heavy hand, forgetting their sons and daughters are capable adults. Betrayal by long time friends and advisors. Almost losing Jess, shakes Dakota and Jessie up. They work hard to make it right.

A great start to the next chapter in the Baxter/MC story.
