The Ultimate Guide to the Dukan Diet: Dr Pierre Dukan’s Revolutionary Diet (Duken Diet - Permenant Weight Loss Book 1) Kindle Edition
Apparently, as I dug through the secrets of diet and weight loss, I discovered a rather appalling truth. Dieting products are designed to not make you lose weight at all, and even if they did help shed a few pounds off, you will inevitably gain them back after a few months.
This is caused by an almost insatiable hunger felt after the diet or by the end of the program. This is the body’s evolutionary reaction after losing too much weight in too little time. This means that the real work in dieting isn’t entirely on losing, but instead, on maintaining the ideal weight.
The sad truth here is that dieting programs aren’t concerned with this. None even bothered to explain it to you or anyone.
Thankfully, however, we now have the Dukan diet -- the only answer to this problem so far.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2016The Dukan Diet is a diet plan originating in France. It is a protein-based diet designed by French doctor Pierre Dukan. Dr Dukan has been promoting his diet for over 30 years and still there are followers who swear by his dietary regime. The diet comprises of four parts:
1) attack
2) cruise
3) consolidation
4) metabolisation
During the attack phase rapid weight loss occurs, one of the practical parts of the diet is that you will not go hungry. At any given point you can choose from a list of protein based foods to satiate any cravings. Cruise reintroduces vegetable although starch based food groups are avoided. Whilst consolidation introduces starch products to ward off starvation mode and to stop fat piling back on. During the stabilisation the body gains further respite and can try treats but must commit to protein intake.
I find Carr's guide to Dr Dukan's diet highly informative and good introduction to the Dukan diet in easy to achieve steps. I have not hadd enough time to try the diet for any great length of time but the science seems rational and it is highly appraised. At the moment I am quite content with my weight but may be could lose a couple of pounds and will try this ebook. As the Duchess of Cambridge practices this diet, it must be doing something right as she certainly looks trim and healthy.
Overall a good read if you wish to dip your toes into trying the Dukan diet.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2016This book downloaded very easily to my kindle app on my iPhone making it so convenient to access on and off when I had a spare moment to get some reading done.
The book is clearly set out in sections in terms of the various stages of the Dukan diet and is written clearly, concisely and logically. The book begins with a brief introduction to the Dukan Diet and what can be expected and then proceeds to talk briefly through the stages of the diet...the attack phase, the cruise phase, the consolidation phase and the stabilisation phase. Within each phase, the author describes what foods should be consumed and what should be avoided. Helpfully, the book also prepares the reader for what they can expect during each phase of the diet.
What strikes me about the Dukan Diet, unlike many other diets, is that essentially it is a plan for life and I guess that this is what is required in order to maintain a healthy weight for not just a few months, but for the rest of your life! The diet and this book advises you to be consciously aware of what you consume on a daily basis and to be consciously aware of your weight on a daily basis. It does recognise that we all need treats from time to time but that these treats should be spaced out in time and we should not over-consume unhealthy food either.
My one criticism of this book is in its title. Given the length of this book and the fact that the diet is covered in a very brief way, both in terms of the scientific facts that back up the diet and the practicality of implementing the diet into your day-to-day meals, I would say that this book is more of an introduction to the Dukan Diet. If I were thinking about going on a diet and was not sure which particular diet to follow I would say that this book would be a very good introduction however if I were then proceeding with the diet I think that I would have to buy a book that delves into the diet in more detail and provides me with meal plans, recipes etc.
I received a copy of this book for free in return for my honest and unbiased opinion. I hope that you have found me review insightful and helpful.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 January 2016I have tried the Dukan Diet before and it works fantastically. This book is a nice concise version of the diet that is easy to read and follow, works great as a quick guide.
I would highly recommend this diet, myself and my partner done it last year after the birth of our second child (to loose baby weight and sympathetic pregnancy) and it worked great. The first few days are hard, as with any diet but after that I didnt feel hungry and never had so much energy.
I am reviewing this product as I received a free copy, my opinions are not swayed by this in any way, this is a great guide to supplement the full book

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2016The DUKAN book downloads straight to your Kindle device reader. This ebook gets straight to the point, providing an easy to read description of the approach, how it works, how to follow it and the rules that apply. It is a fairly short ebook and wont take you long to read at all.
There are a few references to Kate Middleton throughout the book explaining how she used this approach to lose weight before her wedding.
The diet starts with five to ten days of just protein, low fat dairy and no fruit or vegetables. The four stages that follow slowly introduce other foods back into your diet. The books also advises on side effects and how to deal with these. In order to follow this you will need to refer back to the book as its not quite as straight forward as it sounds.... it is also a life long approach not just a fad diet.
I don't feel this diet is for me, as a vegetarian and admittedly a fussy eater, I find it hard to follow the rules when they relate mostly to meat eaters. List of meats allowed are made clear but no vegetarian alternatives (If i have to seek these out myself, why read the book?)
I received this item free in return for my honest and unbiased review
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2016the dukan diet sounds really good. the book explains, i think quite a good amount of information. it is split into 4 groups. each one dealing with 1 step of the diet at a time. step 1. Attack Phase - this kick starts the diet, by sticking to a 72 high-protein food choice. step 2. Cruise Phase - this is the weight lose phase, you are reintroducing carbohydrates into your diet, meaning 28 veg. step 3. Consolidation Phase - this means that the rest of the food pyramid is introduced. stage 4 Stabilization Phase - this means that you will follow what you have learned from the diet. all in all it was very educational, the only thing is, is that their are no diet recipes or menus to follow. for this reason im giving it 3 stars. I received this product in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read
I enjoyed reading The Dukan Diet and it definitely motivated me to jump start my diet. It is similar to the Atkins diet where you reduce the intake of carbohydrates and increase your lean proteins into your diet. I am always trying to find the best diet and not having much success, with most diet plans, i can't wait to go to the market and buy everything i need to replace all the bad food in my refrigerator. I have read articles about the Dukan diet and it is actually popular in other countries too, so I was looking forward to trying it myself. The maintenance to keep the weight loss off is a step by step process, which i find great because I need a step by step plan to keep me going.

4.0 out of 5 stars quick read of the actual book
This is a summary of the actual book, great for people who already read the original book as the original book explains the logic behind phases sits book jumps to the diet plan directly and provide limited explanation.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great resource. Excitied to see results.
This is an interesting concept to losing weight using ketosis and keeping meat as a big part of your diet. It's main focus is trying to change your eating habits. First you eliminate carbs but keep the protein for up to 10 days. Then you add carbs in the form of vegetables. Next you sparingly add in things like fruit and cheese. This guide suggests that you continue to follow this type of diet throughout your life because it works and is so easy. The book is quite engaging and interesting, backing up the information and why each phase works. I have enjoyed reading it and now ready to put it to great use. It is an excellent resource.
I received this item for free in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a really good book. Simple and easy to read
This is a really good book. Simple and easy to read, it provided helpful tips and on succeeding on the Dukan Diet. I have tried the diet for a month now and lost 15 pounds, so it does really work! The main downside is the maintenance- that is hard to keep up! If you can do it and don't mind saying goodbye to pasta and bread for a good long time this is definitely for you! there are a lot of recipes out there on the web too to help keep the variety up in your diet. Give it a shot and see how it works for you!
I received this product at an discount in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by the company in any way.
