- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2016Great motivation talk. Easy to follow self-help guide on becoming a better, happier and friendlier person. Would recommend this book to anyone who's looking for a little inspirational pep talk.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 February 2016Be warned, this has been written from a religious prospective. For people who don't go for the Jesus and scripture thing or don't need to be told to say Please and Thank You or hold doors open for people, it's not for you. Witten by an insurance salesman, who seems to have no psychological training or expertise, it expounds dubious psychological concepts like "taking thoughts and words captive" essentially advocating repression. It is perhaps that kind of repression that has led so many priests and other clergy to abuse children on the scale they have. It uses positive affirmations like for instance telling yourself that your boss or "superiors" knows much more than you do, and they are working so hard for you and, you can learn so much from them. If by making yourself believe such bull __it it helps you feel more positive and connected to life then fine, there is some value for you, but for people more connected to reality (the boss only holds his position becasuse he's screwing the managing directors daughter, is ripping you off and pi__ing in the water dispenser) who find it hard to create their own cloud cookoo land and believe it, then you will find little of value here.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book states the key to happiness most definitely. Great read!
If everyone were to read through this guide and practiced what Andrew preaches everyday of their life, we'd have world peace! You'll get back, what you put out into the universe, and I truly believe this. My favorite of the 12 steps is simply smiling everyday so that people wonder what you are up to... "If you want to change the way things are for yourself--display yourself to be more happy, energetic, and fresh. This will not only help you in your daily routine, but also help you in our ultimate goal as a society to change the world. Simple as a kind greeting, a smile, and respect for the rest of humanity." Andrew not only addresses the individual but also the relation to the whole of society. Basically he breaks down the importance of a few main factors: taking care of yourself/respecting yourself, and taking care of others/respecting others. Respect yourself first and then respect for all living things, were the traditional laws of many Indigenous people. This book states the key to happiness most definitely. Great read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful read
This is one of the best self help books I have read this year. I wish I had read it at the start of the year. The book highlights twelve steeps you can incorporate intro your life to bring drastic positive changes in you'd life.
Some of the steps are very simple and we most often forget their importance like Bering grateful for what we have instead of crying over what we don't have, saying please and thank you, rewarding yourself, tasking good care of yourself and performing random acts of kindness.
A mind altering book I would recommend everyone read at least once in their life.
