.....in writing style. It seems as though the book has been translated from another language and elements of speech, syntax and rhythm were lost, as so much has become literal. The author has a good command of American English and the story was slightly interesting, though I felt I was waiting to be told the breadcrumbs, rather than be led to them. Because of that feeling, I became quite frustrated at the storyline.
....as a series. A detectives is unorthodox in his methods isn't unusual and I don't think I clearly saw these traits in the character, Ben. And to have women swooning at him and the informality of using first names, in such a profession, was dire.
I found finishing the book a necessity, rather than a pleasure, as I just wanted it done. Lesson learned: read the reviews.

3.0 out of 5 stars Badly needs to be edited
Reviewed in the United States on 13 February 2018
This is a good story. It kept me interested enough to want to finish it. However, the writing itself is absolutely atrocious. Words are misused. Tenses are changed from one paragraph to the next. Sometimes it's written as though English is not this writer's language of origin. So I was constantly editing it in my head as I was reading it. That was so distracting. The plot ideas are, for the most part, quite good, though there are some holes that need to be filled in and there are ideas that need to be fleshed out. But the bad grammar and so forth overwhelms a lot of the good things about this book. I notice that he's written more books. However, because the need for editing was so profoundly obvious and distracted me so much, I hesitate to read anything else he's written. I find it hard to believe that the author doesn't have one friend or acquaintance who has the ability to properly edit a book. This has to be one of the worst best books I've ever read that needs it as much as this one does.

Ist mal was neues...).

Tad S Form has a peculiar writing style. But as the story unfolds, the bizarre style pulls the reader into the book. A really dramatic and convincing piece of work. Subtle and yet outrageous. An out and out good book.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good plot

I enjoyed this book. I found the sentence structure odd at times, making it a little confusing. It seemed as though English might not be the author's native language. There also were a lot of proof reading errors. Even so, the characters were interesting and fresh in a film noir sort of way. It will be interesting to see how later works develop. I would recommend it.
