Richard is 34 years old (and holding) and is a Salt Lake City native where he currently lives. He was previously engaged (until spring 2021) and previously married (divorced in 2016). Richard is an attorney admitted to all Utah state and federal courts, but he primarily works as an investigator for the Utah government. He began publishing in 2011 while a first-year law student, and was very prolific with nine publications including eight novels, within five years. In 2016 he took a hiatus from writing, in response to emergent and challenging life circumstances that lasted until 2019. Richard spent these years focused on family, personal growth, and pro bono legal causes. He is excited by his return to the publishing world with several titles planned for release in 2021, including The Gods Who Bleed and Legacy of the Phoenix. In his spare time, he's an avid swimmer, skier, and chess player.

    Good read

So after reading all the other books in the series I was ready for my final instalment. Wrong we now have part two coming soon so this was not the climatic ending I was expecting. To me it was a good book and a lot got sorted out in the storyline and it does build nicely to the now new final tome.
However putting time deadlines on the creative process always causes problems and this could have been the final climatic ending if the author had been allowed time. Also there are typo issues as other reviewers have pointed out that don't detract from the storyline but do annoy if you have that type of mind and eye for detail. I am ready now for part two and am looking forward to getting to the end of the story. Could this be the in music terms " The tricky second album" I hope not but once again I know the author is under time constraints. Please don't leave me with a feeling of anti climax. I want this series to finish with a bang and hope this book just lit the blue touch paper ready for fireworks in part 2

Another great book by Richard, an author that knows how thrill and keep his audience in suspense. What like even more, is that he really does respect his readers, going to great lengths in explaining reasons for changes in in the format of his series.

As others have pointed out, there a few errors which I guess were ultimately were caused by working to the strict deadline of the release date. However, these errors in no way detract from the great storyline. I can barely wait for the final instalment.

I got the first book of this series (The Phoenix Conspiracy) very cheaply on my Kindle not realising it was book 1 of 7 of a single story. Each ends in a cliffhanger, so I was hooked into buying all the rest at £6.99 each. Cleaver! It is a good story but be warned---it continues through seven books and only in the last are the issues resolved.

Richard, I think you could have told the story in one final book after all.. A bit too much fluff, and I don't really care that summers finally got her knockers down, as I was never really expecting that anyway.

Thats not to say I haven't massively enjoyed this series, and look forward to the last instalment.

I've really enjoyed this series. It just keeps building and building and now we near the conclusion. A great addition to the pantheon of epic sci fi.

Suffers from being part 1 of the ending of the saga, but other than that is a good read. I'm sure the next book will be more exciting.

Reviewed in the United States on 7 January 2016
I continue to enjoy reading this series, 83% through, and with a few surprises along the way, the story lines and characters continue to develop well. I think of this book as taking a Rubik's cube that is almost complete, and making movements that at first seem to disorganize and threaten to lose the previous advances, but then methodically begin to reveal the impending completion of a solved cube. I am already looking forward to the finale this coming March. Kudos to the author for creating such a diverse and interesting set of characters and an engaging story in a genre that is increasingly difficult to find originality and innovation.
