Tricky Wisdom: Year I (The Tricky Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Coming out to her friends and family with an anti-climactic flop, Darcy uses her newly publicised sexuality to try and win Taylor’s affections through an ill-hatched scheme that crosses uncomfortable lines. The result is as unexpected to Darcy as Darcy’s affinity for medicine is to Olivia.
The first year of medical school is a nerve-wracking encounter in medicine, learning lessons the hard way, and finding what her heart desires.

About the author

Born in Australia with an overactive imagination, Camryn directs her creative energy into her favourite genre: lesbian romance. She has a habit of tripping over her own feet because she's too busy rushing headlong into life. We only get one, so why not make the most of it?

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2015Camryn really is a supremely talented author. This story can make you laugh, make you cry, and, most of all, make you continue reading right through to the end without stopping.
It is such a well written story, it seems totally believable, so much so that it could easily have been a true story.
If your heart doesn't ache and cry out for Olivia, and if you don't desperately want Darcy to find that true love that she has been searching for for so long (even if her one true love is not the woman that she originally believes it to be), then you've got no soul!
A truly great read, and I will wait with baited breath for the next instalment. Don't take too long Camryn!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 March 2019This is a lovely short romance. It is centred on a 20-something virgin so firstly I think it’s important to stress that the main character is quite naive, and still learning about relationships. I did find that quite frustrating when reading as I personally prefer confident main characters. Having said that, I didn’t realise how much I really enjoyed the whole book until we reviewed it for a book club and I heard people talk about all their favour parts - it really made me want to reread it and read the next ones the series. I would recommend if you want a nice - and very witty - coming of age romance.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2017Brilliant, full of fun, romance and some terrifically well drawn characters. One can't help but root for Darcy and Olivia and their other medical colleagues. This is a very well written book that makes one laugh and almost cry in equal measures. The story is well constructed and the characters come across as believable people, which in my limited experience, is very unusual in this genre of books. Take the plunge and splash the cash for this and the follow up, if you enjoy a good story told in a heartfelt way then you wont be disappointed.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2015And well written and funny. And worth buying and worth reading! Difficult to say much about the story without completely spoiling it. I hate it when reviewers do that. It's about a very naive and virginal twenty three year old who has been crushing on her best friend her entire life. But she has to move away to Boston to begin her pre-med, leaving Taylor behind. How will she survive the course and Olivia, her new and rather poisonous room-mate. Read it and see!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 July 2016I happened upon Camryn Eyde while trawling through the lesbian titles searching for a new author to read. And how glad I am that I did! I absolutely adored this book; it had some of the expected elements but the dialogue between Olivia and Darcy was what did it for me. It was hilarious and there were several laugh-out-loud moments. But it was also poignant, gentle and heart-wrenching and I loved the delicate building of their relationship which for me wasn't a foregone conclusion - there were complications to overcome. I cannot wait for Book 2 in the series. I've since read some of Camryn's short stories and am delighted to have found another author to add to my favourites list. I'm a happy bunny ....
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 June 2017Not my usual choice of a book but having said that I really enjoyed it. Great read will now be buying book two in the series
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2019A read that had me feeling so many emotions. It’s heartbreaking, endearing, riveting, funny, laugh out loud and brilliant.
Great characters, I loved Darcy and Olivia and felt a lot of empathy for both of them. I became invested in their lives and this book and am now going to start on book 2. First book by this author but not the last!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 June 2016A truly amazing book. A wonderful storyline that will have you cringing and or guffawing out loud. The relationship between the characters is a wonderful mix of love/hate and totally believable. I do wish the book was longer but hooray it is a 1st book of a series so I'll have to patiently *excuse the pun* wait for the next book in line. Do yourself a favour and get this book.... you won't be disappointed.
I highly recommend this book. 5 Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is one of my favorite series to date
This is one of my favorite series to date. While Darcy and Olivia are perfect opposites, this book shows that opposites do sometimes attract. Their differences and how the were able to still get together really made this book all the more entertaining. I love that despite how difficult Olivia could be, Darcy never gave up on her. We should all be so lucky to have someone like that in our lives!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Characters & Story, Very Funny Moments
Darcy leaves Minnesota for medical school with bittersweet feelings because she has yet again failed to reveal her love to her lifelong best friend, Taylor. No time to dwell on past mistakes though because a new world is about to open up to her at Harvard where she moves in with roommate, Olivia, who upends Darcy’s life forever.
This book acts like a lot of things, comedy, faux romance, coming of age, angsty romance, age gap. But in the end, it’s very character driven. The evolution of both main characters in the relationship and as individuals struggling under the tremendous pressure of elite academics was the strength of the book. My favorite aspect of the story is how both women do not give up, Darcy working out her inexperience to figure out what it means to be part of a couple and Olivia fighting herself to trust enough to let Darcy in. There are many exquisite moments of interaction between the two that are both hilarious but subtly revealing as well. The supporting characters are well defined and only add to the story.
In case, anyone noticed, I say age gap because though the mains are about the same chronological age, Olivia due to her past, is much older in her view on life while sheltered Darcy is much younger than 23 so at times it felt like one of those older/younger woman romances. Have never seen that dynamic before and the author handled it brilliantly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Zu empfehlen
