The World Duology (World Odyssey / Fiji: A Novel):
Set in the 19th century, this two-book fictional series follows the fortunes of three young travelers. About the authors
New Zealand-born actor/writer/producer James Morcan resides in Sydney, Australia. He has written two bestselling novels, performed in various international film productions and is a podcast host. His books have been translated into eight languages (Arabic, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Norwegian, French, Afrikaans, German).
Morcan's published titles include the new release horror Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) and the bestselling historical adventures White Spirit and Into the Americas. He also has several series on the market including The Orphan Trilogy, an international thriller series, the swashbuckling action-romance series The World Duology, and the controversial non-fiction franchise The Underground Knowledge Series. An additional non-fiction title, Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories, was written in collaboration with Holocaust survivors to document the genocide. These titles were all co-authored with his father Lance Morcan and published by Sterling Gate Books. Their production company, Morcan Motion Pictures, is developing Silent Fear into a feature film and Underground Knowledge into a TV series.
James' most recent acting performance was a leading role in the post-Apocalyptic feature film After Armageddon which he also wrote. The dystopian adventure film was shot in rural Australia and Morcan co-starred with Berynn Schwerdt (Wyrmwood). Other leading roles include the OZ-Bollywood productions My Cornerstone and Love You Krishna. Morcan also wrote the screenplays for both features which were filmed in Sydney and Mumbai and incorporated English and Hindi languages.
Additional productions he has perfromed in include a BBC TV series, several indie features and a live stadium production of Ben Hur headlined by Academy Award winner Russell Crowe. To date, his feature films have screened at cinemas in New Zealand, India, Australia, Italy and Cannes.
James is a podcast host on the YouTube channel Underground Knowledge and founded one of the most popular discussion groups on Goodreads, also called Underground Knowledge.
New Zealand novelist and screenwriter Lance Morcan is a prolific author with more than 35 published fiction and non-fiction books to his credit as well as several screenplay adaptations of his work. A former journalist and newspaper editor, he regularly writes in collaboration with his son James Morcan, and their books are published by Sterling Gate Books.
The father-and-son team's published books include the new release horror Silent Fear (A novel inspired by true crimes) and the bestselling historical adventures White Spirit, Fiji: A Novel and Into the Americas. They also have several series including The Orphan Trilogy, an international thriller series, the globetrotting action-romance series The World Duology, and the controversial non-fiction franchise The Underground Knowledge Series, which includes Genius Intelligence and The Catcher in the Rye Enigma.
Several of their books have been regular visitors to Amazon's bestseller lists over the years.
An additional non-fiction title they're especially proud of is Debunking Holocaust Denial Theories, which was written in collaboration with Holocaust survivors to document the genocide.
Lance's first solo-authored novel, a historical adventure-romance titled New Zealand: A Novel, was published late 2024. Spanning almost 500 years, this novel covers the respective discoveries of New Zealand by Pacific Islanders and Europeans. From the outset the two stories are interposed. It starts in the 1300’s with the departure of Islanders from Hawaiki in search of land far to the south. Researching and writing this epic was literally half a century in the making for Lance who described the task as "A labour of love that spanned 50 years.”
The Morcans’ production entity Morcan Motion Pictures has a number of feature films in early development, including adaptations of Silent Fear, Into the Americas and White Spirit.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 February 2018Orphan Series:
A Brilliant Series. All 3 books are incredibly original and very entertaining. The Ninth Orphan certainly caught my attention with the blurb, and it didn’t disappoint. A very good plot having 23 Orphans being trained as black op’s specialist. The second book ‘The Orphan Factory’ takes us back to when the Orphans were growing up, and ‘Nine’ manages to escape. Then onto the third book ‘Orphan Uprising’ when ‘Nine’ is living on an island with his family, and his world is turned upside down. Lance & James Morcan have put together a wonderful group of characters and a storyline that I have enjoyed so much throughout the three books. They are certainly worth reading.
Into the Americas & World Odyssey series:
Three incredible books, by two very talented Authors. ‘Into the Americas’ & ‘World Odyssey’ and ‘Fiji’ will take you on the most amazing adventure around the world. The stories have a group of very interesting and diverse characters, and they come up against some harsh and sometimes dangerous conditions. I found myself lost in these stories for many enjoyable hours. Well worth a read.

This is a box set I can truly recommend to all readers. It has all the elements of a well written book that would keep you busy for long hours to come.
The facts and conspiracies within the books are well documented to make this more than just fiction. It leaves you with questions, opening your mind to a different world while reading unique stories with interesting plots.
The World Duology is a wonderful Historical series that would grab your attention and keep your nose in the books till the very last page. Filled with adventure, drama, romance, betrayal, secrets and many more to make this a must read.
The Orphan Trilogy is a must for all conspiracy readers. The characters would draw you into this plot and the easy flowing scene would keep you entertained into the late night hours.
The team effort between the two writers are wonderfully constructed and gives you much food to ponder. The writing is superb, the characters believable and the plots unique.

4.0 out of 5 stars Historical adventure
I didn't like the Orphan Trilogies as much, but I really enjoyed the other adventure novels. I loved how they took history and knowing the geographical areas, makes it so nice as well.
