After those books were published, Abby switched to writing cozy mysteries, she has four self-published series so far, Logan Dickerson Cozy Mystery, Normal Junction Cozy Mystery, Tiny House Mysteries and ABC Cozy Mystery Series. Although she writes mostly mystery, Abby has co-written a historical/women's fiction novel with author and friend, Kathryn Dionne under the pen name Kathryn Longino, In 2017, she contracted with Henery Press for a 3-book deal to pen the series Romaine Wilder Mysteries. After signing with an agent in 2018, she authored two traditionally published cozy mystery series, both pubbed by Penguin Berkley: An Ice Cream Parlor Mystery’s and A Books & Biscuits Mystery. Again switching genres, Abby has penned a women’s fiction book, published by Lake Union, Where Wild Peaches Grow, due out August 30, 2022, which has received a starred review from Booklist. Abby acted as agent and editor for an anthology comprised of twenty authors of color titled, Midnight Hour published by Crooked Lane.
During her non-writing life, Abby obtained a bachelors in Economics, a masters in Public Administration and a Juris Doctorate. She is a former attorney and Economics professor, but now writes books full-time for the past nine years. As part of her writing journey, Abby teaches writing classes at her local library, with Literary Cleveland and the International Women’s Writing Guild. She will be the Writer in Residence at the South Euclid-Lyndhurst Public Library’s William L. Skirball Writer’s Center for 2022-2023.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 June 2015Beautifully crafted, this intriguing mystery keeps you guessing right to the last. Logan's first person narrative lends itself perfectly to the intricacies of the plot, so you really get inside her character. They used to make TV shows like this, before drama became all dark and challenging. This is a throughly engaging and escapist read, and I'll certainly be looking out for the next in the series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2017A really different cozy mystery but a brilliant read. The heroine is very reluctant to be one. How can an archaeologist, an FYI agent and a senior solve the mystery? The characters are terrific - full of zany characteristics and plot is believable. Plus the romantic sparks - make this a terrific read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cozy Mystery!
I grew up on Agatha Christie, and ‘cozy’ was her middle name. Now, this cozy mystery is not set in St Mary Mead, but instead it takes place in a small town in Georgia, where even today you can find turns in a country road that take you back in place and time. That is the one thing I loved about this story. It transported me.
I have said that before both in reviews and in my blogs. I love a story that can take me to a different time and place. I love stories that assume an easy pace, that have humor, atmosphere, and engaging characters. This story has all those.
Although the setting is a present-day small town in Georgia, the feeling is all down-south, old-world magnolias and veranda breezes. The character of Miss Vivee reminds me so much of another southern matriarch I very much love, Miz Demetrice in C.L. Bevill’s Bubba novels. Miss Vivee made me laugh with her antics and her ‘lies.’
Now, this is not another twisted, dark, serial-killer novel. This is an unpretentious, little cozy mystery. To the gentleman who gave this a 1-star review, he obviously is unfamiliar with the genre. As to the mystery part, it was not an unexpected resolution, but it was a very logical one. I was satisfied.
All in all, I spent a very enjoyable time reading this with a glass of wine by my side, feet up on the sofa, a cool breeze coming in through the wide-open French doors. Perfect Sunday reading. Thank you, Ms. Vandiver. There were about half-a-dozen small typos, but nothing to mar my enjoyment of the book.
I may draw criticism for saying this, but I believe that cozy mysteries appeal more to women of my generation. If you are looking for Silence of the Lambs, did is not it. If you are looking for a sweet, funny, stress-free read to take you away from it all, this is it. It has no sexual content, no explicit language, is fast paced, and has likable characters. I highly recommend it to lovers of the genre. I will definitely read more of this author's work.

4.0 out of 5 stars Mystery, FBI and humor
Logan Dickerson, an archaeologist, who has a complex of always being in the shadow of her famous mother. You can’t help but wonder why if she is always trying to gain the respect of her mother she would enter the same career, but this story isn’t about this. It’s about someone Logan who has never dared to get out of her shell.
Until Logan decides that it might all be worth it to break into a US government property with signs everywhere, no trespassing allowed. Logan thought she got away with breaking in until the next morning when an FBI agent was waiting for her at the hotel. Sweet talking she tells the agent she is headed to Stallings Island is southern Georgia. At a section of the road where she could head home to Ohio or where she told the FBI agent she was going, thank goodness she choose the right road.
In the small coastal town at the Bed and Breakfast where she is staying, Logan is introduced to Brie, Renman, and their 89-100 year old Mother, Miss Vivee. No sooner arriving when a murder takes place, when Gemma Burke is found dead in her bowl of bouillabaisse.
Let the story begin, Miss Vivee insists that Logan help her solve the murder. Brining in Mac (a boyfriend from years ago) the fact that Miss Vivee hasn’t left the house in 20 years, and oh by the way, the FBI agent Bay, is her grandson, and all determined to solve the crime before the local sheriff.
I have read the reviews, if you are looking for a dark, deep thinking mystery this will never be the series for you. If you like light hearted and funny, a mystery of sort, the antics of Miss Vivee, you will love the characters of this series.

3.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining start
A cozy mystery is right. That's the vibe I got while I was reading this book. Though, some of the grammatical errors and weird word order of some parts quite irked me, and almost pulled me out of the casual read...almost.
The characters are enjoyable, especially our sharp-minded and sharp-tongued Miss Vivee. And I must say, Bay and Logan's back forths were so entertaining.
The only reason that I didn't rate this higher is because I didn't feel an urge to finish this book one I started it. I read it in my down time, where I usually read boss whenever I can. It didn't really pull me in, but it was an enjoyable reading experience nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cozy Mystery Indeed!
Bed & Breakfast Bedlam (A Logan Dickerson Cozy Mystery Book 1) by Author Abby L. Vandiver
I very much enjoyed this good, clean, and unpredictable mystery novel. Logan Dickerson is a young archaeologist who is following in her mother's footsteps. However, she has a long way to go before achieving her mother's great reputation and level of expertise. Logan decides she wants to make a name for herself by uncovering proof that the Maya may have once migrated to Georgia..."at the Track Rock Gap to be exact". These ruins are considered U.S. government property with obvious signs stating that there is no trespassing allowed. These signs seem to have the reverse effect when it comes to Logan.
Although, usually a person that knows how to follow rules, Logan decides to take a gamble and cross into the "KEEP OUT" turf. While there she gets caught red-handed but manages to escape or so she thinks. The next morning, when she decides to clear out by leaving her motel bright and early, she discovers an FBI agent at the front desk asking questions about her. Logan manages to sweet talk and lie her way out of his questions when he catches up to her in the parking lot. She adamantly denies knowing anything about the break in and states that she is on her way to Stallings Island to investigate another dig site. Little does she know that the FBI officer comes from this exact neck of the woods.
To keep in tune with her lies, Logan heads out that way. Soon after her arrival, the whole ball of yarn starts to unravel. While there, the murder of Gemma Burke takes place at the Bed & Breakfast Inn where Logan is a guest. The owners of this quaint establishment are the two daughters of 89-100 year old Ms Vivee...no one seems to know her exact age. Irregardless, Ms Vivee decides to play Nancy Drew with Logan as her partner in crime. Ms Vivee, a spunky and intelligent old lady is full of opinions and is determined to solve this murder case. Before you know it...Bay, her grandson and FBI agent shows up at the B & B much to Logan's surprise. She thinks he has followed her there and tries to keep a low profile. This strategy is virtually impossible now that Ms Vivee, much to Lorgan's chagrin, is deeply involved in the case and on the move for the first time in twenty years...
Author Abby L. Vandiver uses humor as well as clever witticisms and puns as she lets this mystery unfold. At touch of romance thrown in makes this fictional mystery novel delightful. It is easy to envision the main characters, Logan Dickerson and Ms Vivee, as this unique mystery novel takes its reading audience on a fun-filled fact finding expedition in order to locate the elusive murderer of Gemma Burke. Very enjoyable read indeed!
