DCI Jairus returns for his darkest outing yet as he finds himself pursuing a deranged serial killer with a taste for strangling his female victims and dressing in their clothes.
But when Scotland Yard start digging into Jairus’ last case and threaten to find him guilty of murder, the DCI needs help. He finds a friend and alibi in feisty forensic expert Cathy Durbridge, however it soon becomes clear that she’s just as volatile and explosive as Jairus himself, and with his murderous past catching up with him, and Cathy becoming a liability, Jairus is desperate for a way out.
So, when the devil calls and makes him an offer he can't refuse, he joins forces with a dangerous criminal gang, where to save himself he must commit the greatest sin of all.
Can he survive with his soul intact?
About the Author
Mark Yarwood is a crime writer, but also enjoys writing books in other genres. He is a former animator, sketch writer, editor, and comic book artist. His first four EDMONTON POLICE STATION THRILLERS, which began with SPIDER MOUTH, have been well received, and the series has been praised for the lack of a permanent main detective character; instead he uses various members of the SPECIAL CRIME GROUP as the lead characters in each book in the series. The first of his SEAN FAINT novels, FIRELAND has recently been published and will be followed by the 5th book in the EDMONTON POLICE STATION THRILLER series. Born in London, he now lives with his wife and daughter in Plymouth, Devon.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 April 2016Yet another fast moving, edge of the seat chilling thriller in this fabulous series. Full of twists and turns the reader can not predict, and will have you turning the pages until the last page is done - if you read at night be sure to leave a light on! I'm a big fan of books by Mr Yarwood, who knows exactly how to turn down the scene to darkness and leave the reader breathless in the dark with a chill creeping over the flesh, wondering what will happen next. Its a fast paced, dark and exciting read yet again another great book from this fabulous author. Highly recommended. I could not put it down!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 June 2015I'm not sure Mark Yarwood is getting the recognition he deserves - he's such a good writer. The characters are growing and draw you into their world, the plotlines are exciting and coming at such a pace with the twists and turns, you just don't want to stop reading. So this book is yet another excellent book in the Edmonton series and having just finished it I want the next book already! Come on Mark - don't make us wait too long :)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2015The 5th book based at the Edmonton Police Station. Never the the same detective - which I think is a good idea, but different tech in each book.
In my opinion - this book is more 'black' than usual, but still a excellent read, that takes more twists than a country road... I am a devoted fan of this author and his books, they are never the same - buy it you will not be disappointed - trust me !
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 May 2015This book had me hooked from the start! Having read all of The Edmonton Police Station Thrillers, I loved revisiting some of the characters, especially the main man Jairus, who is simultaneously good cop/bad cop that you can't help rooting for. The storyline is fast paced and exciting, full of twists and turns and I really couldn't have predicted the ending. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another very good read. I have enjoyed these stories and look ...
Another very good read. I have enjoyed these stories and look forward to the next. It looks like the ending will lead to the next book and THAT will be awesome ! I will not describe this story as I do not want to give anything away. If you have read these books you will fully enjoy When the Devil Calls.
If you have not read the previous Edmonton Police Station stories you may just want to. They are a great lead up to When the Devil Calls.
Go and read Mark Yarwood, you won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great author, another great book
I have been following the author from his first book in the Edmonton series and he has never failed to entertain me with his writing. The ending is unexpected, and the book is fast-paced, interesting and I could hardly put it down. I look forward to his next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars When the devil calls
This is a very dark and violent story with believable characters and exciting situations, but there are no happy endings. Well worth reading.
