Game of Shadows: A Sean Wyatt Archaeological Thriller (Sean Wyatt Historical Mysteries Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 4,012 ratings

THE TRAIL TO A NAZI SECRET SUPER WEAPON
In the final days of World War II, a mysterious German U-boat was seen by a United States naval vessel in the Atlantic Ocean, just north of South America.

Before the ship could fire upon the sub, it vanished.

History tells us that, after the war, the German high command scattered across world hoping to evade punishment for their crimes.

What it doesn't tell us is what they took with them.

Priceless paintings?

Rare sculptures?

Vast treasures?

Many of these things have been discovered but there is one that remains hidden. It was one of the most well-hidden, secretive experiments the Nazis carried out during the war and now someone is trying to unearth it.

If they succeed, it could bring civilization to its knees.

˃˃˃ Not if Sean Wyatt can help it.

Sean Wyatt quit working for the United States government years ago but after recent events, he's come to realize his particular set of skills might still be needed to keep the world a little safer.

With an evil mastermind behind a twisted plot, Sean is on the clock with less than 72 hours to find a Nazi device known as die glocke before a for-profit terrorist cell known as The Black Ring executes an innocent woman.

Worse, if they get what they want, the terrorists will wreak havoc across the planet. If you love a great action & adventure story but want none of the profanity, this story is for you. Ernest Dempsey packs his novels with tons of excitement and none of the swearing. Not sure this novel is for you? Check out all the great reviews from people just like you and see for yourself.

I love history. Always have, as long as I can remember. And I also love literature. Same story with that. Most of all, I love archaeological thrillers like the ones I grew up watching in the 1980s: the Goonies, Indiana Jones, stuff with a mystery and a good treasure hunt. Now I live in the most amazing dream where I get to write those kinds of archaeological thrillers for a living.

I've also always had a fondness for Fantasy and Science Fiction. So, if you snoop around my catalog you may find a few of those stories too.

I attended Southern Adventist University from 1995-2003, earning a bachelors degree in psychology and a masters in school counseling. In my heart, however, I've always been a storyteller, an entertainer. So, after twelve years of working in the school system, I quit my job to write full time.

I've learned over the years, both in writing stories and in my experience, that life is unpredictable.

Cliché, I know.

But people crave a little predictability now and then, when the good guys win and the bad guys get their comeuppance. The most important thing, both in books and in life, is that the end can be easy to predict so long as the journey isn't. You may know how a story will end, or at least have an inkling, but if you don't know how it gets there, then that unpredictability makes it fun.

That's how I approach storytelling.

So, if you like twists in stories, you'll find them here. All along the journey. And maybe occasionally at the end. But one thing is certain; you will never be bored.

Come on this journey with me. I promise I will always work hard to honor your valuable time with exciting action, baffling mysteries, and intriguing history.

Join the adventure, and get four free stories on my website at www.ernestdempsey.net.

See y'all in there,

A shorter book but worth a read. But I was intrigued by Irena, she's a heroine in my eyes and I would like to know what happened to her, please. Can't wait to get your next book. Thank You.

This was the first Sean Wyatt book I have read. Even more unbelievable than James Bond. Sean Wyatt's one man crusade where he gets shot and beaten up etc and still walks off as though nothing had happened. Oh I'll just pop into the local shop and buy scuba diving gear with air tanks and a sea scooter....all a little too far fetched. However it was a good plot with a couple of good twists. Good for a holiday read as you don't have to concentrate on it too much.

Another exciting nonstop adventure for Sean, back to his axis roots and full of action. Ernest's books are fast paced and easy to read, although not being able to put them down is a problem. A thrill ride from start to finish!

All of the usual suspects are here - 'a fast read', 'action-packed', 'a page-turner', 'couldn't put it down' and so on. The story fairly rattles along and you have to hold on tight, right until the last page. As you sit there breathless when you close the book, you might like me, wonder how one man can bear being punched, kicked, and shot at so often without running out of energy. As long as you can rationalize that this is 'make-believe' and remember the old warning 'Don't try this at home' then for entertainment, this sort of book is hard to beat.

This is the first Ernest Dempsey book I've written (didn't realise it was 6th in a series til I'd already started). Despite that, it wasn't confusing or hard to get into. The book stands alone strongly. The writing is impressive - exciting, detailed action scenes, great characterisation. All around a great read. Off to start at the beginning of the series now!

The pleasure with this series, besides the adventure and some times over the top fighting competence of Sean is the rather delicate and kind treatment of many of the characters.
