My name is Yesenia Chavan. I use to be stressed-out, overweight, unhappy, and desperate to live the ‘great life’ I dreamed of. There were many years that I lived as a victim of circumstance completely oblivious to the fact that I had the power to choose the kind of life I wanted to live.
One day, completely stressed-out by my situation, I made a decision to learn everything I could about inner peace, happiness, and taking control of my life. I devoured every book I could get my hands on and eagerly applied everything I learned to my life.
Slowly I started experiencing more peace, health, and happiness than I ever had before. For the first time in my life I felt that I was in complete control of my destiny. Life became an exciting, rich, beautiful playground that I couldn’t wait to enjoy every day. Positive things started happening for me. I hit my goal weight, started living my passion, and tripled my income. It still amazes me today how one quality decision could transform my life so drastically.
Now I’m on a mission to share what I’ve learned in a straight-forward, simple, to-the-point kind of way that will enable you to transform your life in a short amount of time.

She writes like she cares for your wellbeing, her soothing and easy to read style enables one to fully engage and understand the message she conveys throughout her book. Lots of practical steps you can start incorporating in your life immediately. Having read this book within an hour then read it again to ingrain it mindfully. I downloaded her book " meditation for beginners". Will start reading that soon. I have also subscribed to her mailing list and downloaded her Stress Busting smoothy recipes.
At last a self help book that not only gives you a good Incite into the disadvantages of mindlessness , but gives you some easy to follow practical steps to becoming mindful in every aspect of your life as you live it in the here and now.This book is a god send for anyone who has co dependency disorders, and in particular that from years of mental and physical abuse of which I suffered greatly as a child. My monkey mind has sabotaged most of my life and filled me with much anxiety stress and negative self judgement.
This does take some practice but after reading this book I have already started to take more control over my thought processes and in turn starting to feel less anxious, rather than let an event start my racing heart, which often leads me down the dark alley of the same result, usually panic fear, and defensive fight, as I am a reactive person. I now try to reason and think things through before reacting and engage myself more in the now, rather than listening to damaging chatters of the past and possible future worries. I wish I had read of this book years ago, but hey as of the here and now. It's sure is better late then never.

All the information that you need is within, there is nothing superfluous included so it wouldn't take long to read the book a couple of times to really consolidate the information. There is a chapter devoted to various techniques for inducing a state of mindfulness, and whilst some may consider that this is not enough in proportion with the rest of the book, I found it to be plenty. Once you have understood the principles of mindfulness, you won't really need to be given exercises to do as it becomes more of a way of thinking and subsequently way of life. You become a more mindful person and instinctively understand what to do and how to respond to life situations in a more positive way.
If you've heard about mindfulness and have been thinking that you want to know more about the subject, then this is the book to buy. Get it, read it, read it again, understand it and go forth and enjoy your New and Improved life!

Have read a few mindfulness books and this one stood out from the others. OH! I don't think I'm supposed to have an opinion, I'm supposed to be non-judgemental. Read the book and find out what I mean.

By using mindfulness throughout your life you can actually change things for the better, its about using beliefs, strategies and stepping out of the box or your support network together with a burst of meditation.

Easy to read, easy to understand, well organised and very convincing. I particularly liked the many exercises proposed and the advice given that allowed me to set achievable goals and develop a practice that is enriching my life every day. I warmly recommend this book to anyone who feels that their life is moving at the speed of light and they have a hard time remembering any actual moments of it.

This is a high quality, simple, straightforward book on mindfulness for beginners. The book is short and engaging and you will finish it quickly because it is so full of great and relevant advice. I wanted the book to be longer; but then realized the greatness of the book is how short and simple it is so the reader may more easily begin to practice mindfulness. A lot of explanation is not needed, just simple direction so the reader can begin practicing the concepts right away. So the book is really the perfect length for an introduction to mindfulness and the serious student/practitioner of mindfulness. As a minister and author myself, I am highly interested in these topics and these studies. I have always been interested in the Zen philosophy and in other Eastern philosophies like mindfulness. As a Bible scholar and one who understands the depth of the instruction of scripture, I can verify that mindfulness is fully consistent with Biblical practice. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. Guard your heart (self-view) with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Judge not your brother. Be established in the present truth. Yes, with mindfulness we all can learn to Be Here Now. Put away all those distractions and live each moment fully. That's what it is all about. Excellent book, thank you.
