Milo & Ze: A Bull Terrier Puppy Adventure for adults and children aged 5-8 (Mark Watson Children's Books) Kindle Edition
Join Milo, the long forgotten Bull Terrier, as he travels the world in search of nothing more than a friend he can call his own.
Milo & Ze is the eagerly-awaited second illustrated children's picture Bull Terrier dog journey book for kids by Mark Watson and Pablo Michau, authors of the bestselling, "The Shark in the Park". Milo & Ze makes the perfect Bull Terrier gift for kids, dog lovers and bully fans alike.
"Milo is a cute bull terrier puppy who has been forgotten, locked in a kennel, until one night a blinding light comes out of the night sky and smashes his kennel creating a crater that the bull terrier braves his way to peer into and hears a mole who asks his name and the little bull terrier discovers a fallen star: `'Never again need you wish for a friend, he waits for you at your journey's end.' And off our bull terrier puppy goes on a journey, sees a truck, meets Big the Pig who invites him to his yacht which turns out to be a leaky barge but bull terrier Milo jumps ship and ultimately comes ashore to see Big the Pig safe and free.
Milo meets a pelican who gives him a ride. The next ride is on a camel but a sandstorm hits, covers the little bull terrier, but he is discovered by an elephant who helps him on his journey. But more adventures arise - a tiger, a mountain goat, a cavern and finally, the little bull terrier puppy arrives at the frozen door where lives an Indian lad by the name of Ze: Milo finally has a friend of his own.
Enchanting rhyming verse, exquisite illustrations and a heartwarming dog rescue adventure that simply is restorative and makes the reader feel good. Searching for friends - a great goal and a wonderful destination. Highly recommended for children and art loving adults."

This was a beautiful written children's story by Mark Watson accompanied by the unsurpassed illustrations of Pablo Michau rarely found in any book either children's or adults. This is a story that both young and old will enjoy time and time again. Milo is a forgotten pet forsaken by his owners in the backyard. Milo's dream of finding a friend seems to be a forsaken task until one night when a ball of blinding light smashes into his kennel. Milo is freed from the backyard and meets many interesting and unique characters on his remarkable trek to find his friend. I highly recommend this book as it's destined to take its place among the classics in children literature.

Milo & Ze: A Tale of Friendship by Mark Watson is one of the cutest children’s books I have read. The message of enduring hardships and making sacrifices for a true friend is written in clever rhyming words. The pictures are drawn in vibrant colors and express the storyline perfectly. I cannot imagine any child not liking this book. This is the perfect book for all first time readers.

What a beautiful story! A sweet story of a dog in search of a friend and a home with help from above. The artwork is beautiful and text endearing. Love it. A story to be read over and over.

Milo is an bull terrier who has been virtually abandoned by his human owners. One night a blinding light from the sky shatters his doghouse and leaves a gaping crater. A falling star urges him to follow it on a one week's journey, after which Milo will find his true friend Ze. What an adventure! Milo meets all sorts of animals and even a monster on a trip that ventures over the seas, up into the skies and across the desert. Milo's faith and resistance to all manners of peril allow him to survive and find his true friend, at last!
The illustrations of Pablo Michau and the crisp rhymes draw readers into the adventure. Targeted for preschoolers and primary grade children, this book is a good choice for a bedtime story or as a child's beginning read aloud. Fosters the values of friendship and persistence. Highly recommended.

Guided by a fallen star and written in exquisite rhyming verse, this is a book that will become a classic with children, adults and especially dog and bull-terrier lovers around the world. Amazing illustrations from the talented Pablo Michau and great poetry from Mark Watson.

Great story, great illustrations - wish it came as a board book!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 February 2016Milo and Ze has become a frequent favourite for bedtime stories. It's a simple story of big adventures, as we follow Milo the lonely dog, on a magical journey to find a friend. This is a happy story with a heartwarming ending. The fun rhymes are enhanced by the colourful illustrations that allow non readers to follow along the story.
I enjoyed reading this story too. It's a nice length, longer than most stories for this age group, so my children are quite satisfied to settle off to sleep after they've had Milo and Ze as their bedtime story.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 March 2015This book is a pleasure to read. The illustrations fantastic and my grandchildren loved it. The forgotten little dog with a star on his chest searches for Ze, his companion for life.
So impressed with book, you can understand why it's a best seller! Bought the second book in paperback!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 July 2017This is an imaginative children's book that stands out from most I've read. The illustrations are striking and original. I'm not a huge fan of rhyming books, though, unless they have a really good rhythm throughout like Julia Donaldson's books do. This one is a bit clunky in places, and it's quite long.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2014As a Bull terrier owner the illustrations are spot on! And capture the heart. And as an Early years TA the story is easily read by children in wonderful way. I can't wait to share this book with my son on Christmas eve!

5.0 out of 5 stars A bull terrier with a big heart and a brave mission!
Milo & Ze: A Bull Terrier Puppy Adventure is a heartwarming and visually striking tale that invites both children and adults into a story of friendship, bravery, and belonging. Written by Mark Watson and beautifully illustrated by Pablo Michau, this rhyming adventure follows Milo, a lovable Bull Terrier puppy who sets off on a journey to find his missing friend, Ze.
What makes Milo & Ze stand out is the emotional depth woven into a playful, accessible story. Milo’s loyalty and determination shine through every page, offering young readers a gentle yet powerful message about never giving up on those you care about. The rhymes are lyrical and well-paced - ideal for reading aloud - and the language feels both fun and meaningful without ever talking down to kids.
Pablo Michau’s illustrations are bold, dramatic, and full of personality. Each page is a visual treat, with expressive characters and moody landscapes that elevate the story’s emotional stakes. As an illustrator myself, I found the artwork particularly captivating—its cinematic style adds a sense of scale and adventure rarely seen in picture books for this age group.
Milo & Ze is more than just a cute dog story; it’s a touching reminder of the bonds that connect us and the courage it takes to follow your heart. Whether shared at bedtime or explored in a classroom, this is a book that resonates long after the final page.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review of the book Milo & Ze: A Bull Terrier Puppy Adventure
I am not sure if I have ever read an illustrated children’s picture book quite of this type. I am quite sure about this: I have not earlier read anything like this on a digital reader.
It is delightful. It took me back to times when my children—all grown up now—would pester me to tell them stories and I often ran out of inspiration. Something like this would have been a heaven sent gift.
I enjoyed this book, such that when I reached the end I felt mildly irritated that I had already reached the end, in what seemed to be just minutes.
The story is in verse, in rhyme, of the kind that you could kind of sing as you told the story to the little ones. The art work is just divine.
Again, I just wish it had been a bit longer.
Absolutely recommended if you have kids who keep demanding stories.
And maybe even if you don’t.
