This was a beautiful written children's story by Mark Watson accompanied by the unsurpassed illustrations of Pablo Michau rarely found in any book either children's or adults. This is a story that both young and old will enjoy time and time again. Milo is a forgotten pet forsaken by his owners in the backyard. Milo's dream of finding a friend seems to be a forsaken task until one night when a ball of blinding light smashes into his kennel. Milo is freed from the backyard and meets many interesting and unique characters on his remarkable trek to find his friend. I highly recommend this book as it's destined to take its place among the classics in children literature.

What a lovely, delightful book about bravery,adventure,kindness and more! I love that the storytelling is all in rhyme and is so musical sounding with the word choices. The Illustrations are very fanciful and fun! A GREAT educational story for all age groups, as well as a magical gift for little ones!

The message of enduring hardships and making sacrifices for a true friend is written in clever rhyming words. The pictures are drawn in vibrant colors and express the storyline perfectly. I cannot imagine any child not liking this book. This is the perfect book for all first time readers.
