OMEGA Exile: (Book 1) Kindle Edition
Told from the unique perspective of an alien, this first of a thrilling eight book series is cast a thousand years into the future beyond the exciting AMP series. Prepare to be reading until the wee hours!
What are readers saying about this epic eight book series?
--I am a long time (60+ years) Sci Fi fan and Stephen Arseneault is my new favorite Science Fiction author!! I would rank him right up there with Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov for story telling and imaginative story lines.--
--Great Sequel to SODIUM and AMP Series--
--I liked it so much, I purchased the remaining books all at once.--
--Excellent book. It kept me enthralled throughout. This author has an economy of words that is both succinct and wholly descriptive at the same time! Could very well be My new favorite author!--

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 December 2018I have now read the whole 8 books in the series and enjoyed every single one. The books are easy to read and move along at a good pace. Love the characters and love the way the problems get bigger as the series progresses. The last book has more twists and turns than a bag full of eels. Bit of gentle humour here and there which is always a plus. Well worth a read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 January 2015I liked the story line. It was very readable. What it lacked was depth, and sometimes switched between story lines too quickly. An example was when the main character went to his home planet on a short break. The chapter was telling us about his home, family, wife, farm, etc, and next thing you know (in the next paragraph in the same chapter) he was back at work.
My suggestion to SA is to flesh out the story a bit; add character and colour.
Otherwise a good book. Would read more of his at the right price.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 March 2016It was okay about sums this up. The characters were all "nice", whether they were goodies or baddies, and sure it is good if there are good people on the other side, but it would make the story so much better if there were nasty [people on both sides too. The plot did not really seem to get any where until the end; I felt I could have skipped two thirds of he book from the middle without really missing the point of the book. It was good enough that I read it to the end, but not good enough to make me want to ready any more in the series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 May 2015Going to write this review for all of the series so far (1-5) as although each book was fantastic I loved reading it as one and can't wait for number 6.
They say never judge a book by the cover so I didn't, I liked the cover and liked that I could read the first one for free before deciding whether I wanted to carry on and buy the rest.
What an adventure, I thought the characters were fascinating and the fact that our first hero wasn't human was a real bonus. With so many ups and downs, points and counterpoints, truths and lies every page provided a fantastic reason to turn to the next.
So looking forward to the rest of the series Stephen so get those fingers tapping.
Many Thanks
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 September 2015An interesting non-human biography. Set in a far-in-the future period where one empire is dying, amid the squabbling of the nobility as they desperately scrabble to seize whatever portion of the universe they can before their rivals do, this is the tale of a detective who does play by the rules. As he fails to produce politically correct results he eventually pays the price. A Good read, I look forward to reading the sequel. The author's objectivity examining homo sapiens from an alien perspective gives an unusual but fascinating slant to this a sci-fi whodunit. P.S The butler didn't do it
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 January 2018I am sorry correction was a big fan of James Patterson but I was getting really sick of all the cheapshot books he was putting out so thought I would look for something els and downloaded this by accident so read it and enjoyed it and it was good it drew me right in and I got involved in the characters I finished it, and it was a strange ending, so had to buy the next book in the series just to find out what happened to miss Salton, and did Knog Beutcher manage to clean up his living quarters all very exciting I don't normally read sci-fi but as I say this was ok and I will most likely read the rest in this series
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 May 2016I looked forward to this series as I thoroughly enjoyed AMP and Sodium. Two great series even though the stories seem interconnected and similar but when I got to OMEGA the "Travel 1'000'000'000 light years in 1 second", "Destroy a planet in one shot", "Eradicate an entire species without trace" "Fight battles and destroy your opponents without major loss" content of the story just becomes ludicrous and frustrating. A great writer but I'll give him a rest for a while.I gave up after book 6 of Omega.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 January 2015This is not a whole book but the start of a series. As I got it for free, I'm rating it in that spirit. The story-line is interesting if a bit disjointed at times, but all the characters are indistinguishable from humans, though many of them aren't, including the main character. Charcterisation isn't that well developed I found the writing style a little odd at times and somewhat stilted. Be warned though, the story ends in this book with a complete cliffhanger with no puzzles answered. Moreover, the second book which I bought (at quite a jump in price) doesn't address any of the puzzles set up in this book. It's also not as well written as this one, with a good sprinkling of typos whereas this book has few. I'm not bothering to follow the story further. There are better series out there.

Great series, the stories develop in scale as the books progress, however each is definitely a story to itself. Bought and read the whole series. Well worth your time if you like SF. Love the fact its written from the POV of an alien species. Really makes a change. Well done S. Arseneault.

5.0 out of 5 stars Omega 1: EXILE...another stellar series has begun that has left me, once again, wanting MORE!
Once again, Stephen Arseneault displays his story telling talents with another FIVE STAR page turner! Omega 1 EXILE is a wonderful kick start to a promising third series from this up and coming writer.
We are treated to a brief synopsis on what AMP (Alliance of Major Planets) had been up to and how life had been for AMP members following the wrap up of the previous series, AMP.
We meet Grunta, Knog Beutcher and his new partner, Human, Joni Salton and Joni's fierce and faithful tag-a-long Rottweiler, Raptor. We get a bird's eye view to the waning days of our beloved AMP after a golden age that spanned two millennia. We realize that the cycle of life is no respecter of time, space, place, planet or species, We also see that when moral darkness and corruption rear their ugly heads, heroes and heroines will inevitably arise. They go along with their lives, and just by being themselves they inevitably champion others and don't see that they, themselves, are truly heroes and heroines. To them, they are just doing their jobs and being true to themselves, which makes them all the more heroic.
We follow Knog and Joni as they selflessly strive to ensure a free future for all.
This story is full action, yet exposes political machinations as it delves into moral and ethical dilemmas. In some ways, it mirrors our modern day issues, right here on planet Earth in 2014.
