Seven Sisters (Seven Sisters Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
In the heart of sultry downtown Mobile, Alabama, lies a secret veiled by time.
Historian Carrie Jo Stuart possesses a rare gift – she dreams of the past, revealing secrets long buried. When the enigmatic and wealthy Ashland Stuart hires her to unravel the hidden history of the majestic antebellum mansion, Seven Sisters, she's drawn into a labyrinth of mysteries.
As Carrie Jo delves deeper, her dreams guide her through the mansion's faded corridors, where a series of unsettling visions and an untimely death pull her closer to a chilling truth. In the shadows of Seven Sisters, the story of a missing young heiress emerges, entangled in a web of deception and long-forgotten betrayals.
Haunted by the ghostly echoes of a lost soul, Carrie Jo finds herself facing a dual challenge: solving a century-old mystery and navigating the treacherous waters of love and betrayal in her own life. With each dream, she's drawn further into the past, walking in the ghostly footsteps of the vanished heiress.
But as the lines between past and present blur, a critical question arises: Can Carrie Jo unravel the enigma of Seven Sisters without losing herself in its spectral depths? The answer lies in her ability to bring light to the mansion's darkest secrets and find a path to her own happiness.
Join Carrie Jo on a journey where history's whispers cling to every corner, and a historian's gift becomes the key to unearthing buried truths. In Seven Sisters, the past is not just a memory but a guiding force to a future yet unwritten.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2017This book follows Carrie Jo as she takes a job to help refurbish and set up a museum at the Seven Sisters house in Mobile as a historian. She has the ability to dream about the past based on the location which gives her a wonderful insight into her job.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would imagine that Carrie Jo's character could be applied to many situations and circumstances. My only issue with the book was it finished too soon and abruptly, but I suppose that's to encourage the readers to move onto the second book.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 April 2017This is an excellent haunting mystery and is easy to read with very few obvious grammatical errors so nothing to interfere with the storytelling. Good atmosphere and likeable heroine. Not sure about the Ashland as you would have to read more in the series to discover if he is genuinely nice.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 April 2021This story is based on The Seven Sisters but with a twist. Carrie-Jo dreams about the past amongst many things
When the handsome and not to mention wealthy Ashland Stuart offers her a job to help uncover the mysteries of the Seven Sisters building will it be her dream job or will it turn out to be anything but. For me this book became more interesting towards the ending

2.0 out of 5 stars Why 6 Books for approx 900 pages?
For the most part I enjoyed the storyline, however I found the sharp cuts in Chapters commencing new books sometimes appeared inappropriate. In addition either Book 3 or 4 felt as if it was written by someone else or a ghost writer (probably appropriate haha) with really poor grammar and lack of spell check and generally didn't flow the same as the other books. I found it disappointing and even created some confusion in story tracking.

1.0 out of 5 stars What on earth was that?
This ended on a cliffhanger, but I am not even sure what this was all about - mystery? crime story? romance? paranormal? A bit of everything, but nothing tangible. Female protagonists sees what happened in the past in historic buildings, which of course she doesn't tell anybody. Makes her a good expert to restore historical buildings, and of course she is tasked with exactly that, together with a good looking and charming house owner, a slimy lawyer, her best friend and her more or less ex although-I-haven't-told-him-yet. In the last pages, and sorry if that is a spoiler, everyone sort of meets up for a finale - at least I assume it's the finale of book 1 - with some sinister hints about past and future and friends and foes, but nothing really explained or solved. The whole story jumped from past to present, without making sense. Add to that that just stringing together several visions from the past got kind of boring with no explanation or noticeable impact on the present. Quite towards the end, there was a tiny hint (oh my heart, be still!), but that didn't save the rest. The story ending then with a death without any further explanation is not only a cliffhanger, it's insult added to injury.
And most important: all this is just my personal opinion and expresses my personal taste in books, it is not to say this book was bad, just that I did not take to it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Southern Gothic ghost storyline
My title pretty much sums up what this starter portion of an overarching theme of the past never stays quiet or gone for good. The main character has an amazing but unique power that I wish more authors would explore. The author is either a fan, local, or a good researcher on Southern culture. I'm definitely interested in learning more about the house, ghosts, and the present day group of characters. I wish this was one novel however the sectional style really works with this type of story.
