About the author

Iain is the critically-acclaimed author of the DI Angus Henderson crime novels, set in Sussex. DI Henderson is a tenacious detective, perfectly at home in the backstreets of Brighton or the outhouses and barns of rural Sussex. There are now twelve books in the series, starting with One Last Lesson, and the most recent, Flying Too High. There is no need to read the books in order.
Iain is also the author of the Matt Flynn series of thriller novels. Despite working for the Homeland Security Agency, (motto: Fight Fire with Fire), and bound by their strictures, Matt often takes the law into his own hands. There are currently three novels in the series: The Pulsar Files, Deadly Intent and No Time to Lose.
He has also published the first book in a new crime series, set in Norfolk. In Eyes on You, Detective DS Sharma and DC Jackson are hunting a missing man, but is he as innocent as everyone thinks?
Iain was born in Glasgow, Scotland and now lives in Sussex. When not writing, he likes to run in the company of his Collie dog, who even aged twelve, is still capable of outpacing him.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 July 2022This is the first episode in the brilliant 10-book DI Angus Henderson series. I initially read the whole series about 4 years ago and decided to revisit the tales as I enjoyed them so much. This episode is an excellent start and I couldn't put my Kindle down.
The body of a young girl is found on a local golf course. The investigation gets complicated when Angus discovers she was a student who earned extra cash by posing for pornographers.....
If you liked other books by Iain Cameron, you'll enjoy this one too 😁👌😁

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2015In this, the first in a series, DI Henderson investigates the case of a murdered girl found on a golf course. Throw in two quite frankly 'dodgy' university lecturers and a range of characters who are only interested in looking after their own interests, and you've got a gripping read.
I enjoyed the twists and turns of this story. Just when I thought I knew where the investigation was going I was taken in a new direction. The plot and characters kept me interested and held my attention. There are two more DI Henderson books and they'll be added to my TBR list.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 February 2015A good story and good characters, who I enjoyed getting to know. The storyline was good and held my interest. There was an usually high number of errors (such as a missing word or wrong use of word eg 'their' instead of 'there') - I would estimate 10-15 instances. I found this annoying as this should have been picked up by proof-reading. It's distracting to have these errors in a published book.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 December 2014Having read a few of the very cheap ebooks promoted by Amazon I thought I knew what to expect, but this one really exceeded expectations in every respect - reads well, interesting plot, unexpected twists, and a good ending. It's not a classic in the realms of top crime writers but it was a very good read and a good crime book. I would read another by the same author.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 April 2023Really excellent storyline, with lost of twists and turns. University students are being raped and murdered and it's up to the team to catch the culprit. Recommended read for any crime fiction fan
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 February 2017I have given up on this at 60%. There are so many holes and unlikely scenarios. Why would the owner of a porn site automatically think that someone is out to get him after the death of the first girl? Why would the police arrest someone for her murder on no more evidence than that he had lied about knowing her, and no apparent connection at all to the second girl? We suddenly know that the second girl had been out drinking and socialising but are not told how we know that, especially as the police have kept her death quiet from everyone at that stage and have therefore not carried out much investigation. Frankly, I don't care whodunit.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like this
I’m a new Iain Cameron reader, and quite enjoyed Angus Henderson #1. Pretty much my genre so considering that this is well written, and flowing, I was really pleased to find that I also enjoyed the characters as they had dimension and personality.
Looking forward to the next on my list.

4.0 out of 5 stars One last Lesson
Remarkable book. i expect more books highlighting DI Henderson will be coming out and quite welcome too.His adversary is truly evil so his demise causes no regrets in the reader. The areas of Portugal described show tourist areas as well as rugged country. The story theme is well plotted.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good introduction to DI Henderson
4 stars
This is the first in the DI Henderson/DS Carol Walters series. It is a very good introduction to the series and reads like a dream. The book moves logically from one scene to the next as the reader follows the intricate police investigation. The main characters are likeable, and DI Henderson gets along well with his team. I appreciate that in a good read.
When a body is discovered on a golf course, DI Angus Henderson and DS Carol Walters are called to the scene. Fingerprints identify the victim as Sarah Robson, a business student at a local university. The investigation stalls as the police find no forensic material and can’t seem to come up with any suspects.
They interview Sarah’s parents, her friends and acquaintances. When they get to interviewing the teachers and professors at her university, they come up with some interesting material. It seems some of the professors are into something rather shady, and are trying to cover up Sarah’s involvement in their scheme.
While he finds their activities morally repugnant, he is distressed to learn that what they are doing is not illegal.
The killer turns out to be a truly twisted individual who kills for their own sick reasons.
The book is well written and plotted. The suspense began immediately and continued throughout the story until it reached a high point at the end with some terrifying moments. Well done, Mr. Cameron. Keep on writing!
