When Isabella had her first attack of Multiple Sclerosis in 1964 at the age of fourteen, little did she know that becoming very ill would lead her on an extraordinary journey into wellness. From being helped by Doris Stokes in 1988 to Isabella helping Kylie Minogue in 1991.

A Healer’s Tale is set between 1964 and 1992, telling the remarkable tale of triumph over an illness that the medical profession has no cure for, but Isabella found her own cure with the help of a very special lady. By facing and releasing many long buried hurts and fears that had haunted her for years, she was able to move her life forward and rebalance herself. It is a roller-coaster ride of emotions, taking you on a journey through thirty years of her life, told as if you were walking each step beside her. She guides you through each of the lessons that she had to learn to become healed, allowing her to become the respected healer she is today. With great ease, she also weaves into her tale some very special ‘out of this world’ journeys she has taken, ‘spirit’ encounters and ‘miracles’ that she been ‘instrumental’ in enabling.

Isabella would tell you she is just a healer, but her friends and patients will tell you she is so much more than that. She is clairaudient, a psychic medium and a modern day mystic and has been since childhood. Having seen and experienced things in her life that most people could only dream of, she explains her ‘knowing’ of things not of this world and how this helps those around her.

From being a small child God has walked along beside her and talked to her, trying to keep her safe but, of course, she didn’t always listen.

    I have just finished this amazing book by Isabella Clarence which has had me reminiscing about the first time I met this remarkable lady.
    My lovely Mam Hilda visited Isabella for many years almost to the day she died in September 2011. Mam was crippled with arthritis and struggled every day with the terrible pain. She would say how she'd arrive at Isabella's feeling tired and weary, then after her treatment she'd leave pain free feeling happy and relaxed, off to the Metro Centre shopping for hours. Mam adored Isabella and so looked forward to her healing treatments.
    I had been struggling with my workload coming up to the Millennium and had a breakdown early 2000. Mam suggested I visit Isabella. I had been taking medication for weeks but felt no improvement. I was in a desperate state and agreed but wondered how this lady was going to help me. The breakdown had posed many problems, couldn't leave the house, answer the phone or door, no appetite, no sleep, didn't know if I got washed or dressed. I was in a constant state of fear, crying, trembling. I was terrified the horror was endless. When sleep came it was through sheer exhaustion and then it was always a frightening and disturbing sleep, and always waking to the same feeling of panic and fear. I can't describe how wonderful I felt after visiting Isabella, the healing treatments were beyond words, the horrendous feelings started to disappear, I cried with relief. Each healing became a delight, I was recovering, getting back to my old self. Oh how I thanked God... or should I say thanked Isabella. She did many wonderful things but one of the loveliest was the socks she warmed for me on the aga and throw she put over me while I rested, a truly wonderful feeling, relaxed, content and back in the living world.
    I had a few treatments over the following weeks, made a full recovery and got back to work thanks to the healing from this wonderful lady. I thank you from the bottom of my heart Isabella Clarence.
    That was how I came to meet and love this remarkable lady.
    Almost 20 years had passed since my last visit but I recently received a lovely letter from Isabella concerned about my welfare. It was true, I wasn't feeling good, I was filled with sadness and heartache and was curious to find why she would write to me about it. We arranged a day and when I arrived at her home she said my Mam had 'visited' her. She was worried at the affect a family upset was having on me. Mam had asked Isabella if she would help me to put the upset behind me and move on, hence the letter. And here I am again having her healing hands work on me to relieve the tension and set me free... and I'm delighted to say it's working.
    It was at one of my visits I noticed the books on the hall table. Isabella said she had written three and was working on the fourth. I ordered her first book "Different? ... You Have Always Been Different" and couldn't put it down, sometimes still reading at 2 in the morning, which is remarkable for me. I had always been an avid reader but since the breakdown in 2000 I havn't read a book, couldn't concentrate long enough to absorb the information. This book is wondrous, each chapter telling us of amazing experiences. It made me feel humble and opened my eyes and mind to the joy of living... and to always follow your first instinct. It's 5* plus, I will read it many more times, but after I've read her second book which has just arrived. I'm blessed to have you in my life.

    Absolutely fantastic book! I bought this book basedon a recommendation from a friend but never made time to read it! After meeting the author personally she advised that I made time to read it as it would help me so much! The book gives an insight into the authors life and how she became a spiritual healer. The book is very biographical but it has helped me understand myself and the world of spiritual healing! I loved it so much that I have bought one for my friend (who is a sceptic to healing!) and have passed my copy to a relative who I think it will help endlessly! Even if you are sceptical of spiritualism please read this book as you will be amazed by all of her stories- noone can be a sceptic after reading this! I can't recommend this book enough and can't wait for a second and third to be written and published!

    I wanted to like the book because I believe that some people are indeed able to connect/channel the Divine Universe in order to heal themselves and others. However, the writing in this book was very amateurish with convoluted timelines. I couldn't get through more than 25% of the book before I gave up.
