A psychotic killer terrorizing a small mountain town turns his sights on those hunting him.
Special Agent Cody Thomas, from the FBI’s Violent Crimes Unit in Los Angeles, takes a week off to do a little fishing, maybe a bit of hiking, in Big Bear.

Meagan McInnis and Jesse Thomas join Cody at the family cabin, but their vacation is interrupted when Meagan’s sister, Bridgett, goes missing.
HE'S WATCHING
Deputy Jilly Reid left the Central Homicide Unit of San Bernardino and moved up the mountain to get away from death. Handing out parking tickets and dealing with noise complaints is just fine with her.
HE'S WAITING
No sooner does Cody hit town when he runs into Jilly and sparks fly, but there's no time waste. An incoherent call just came into dispatch. A fisherman down in Hunters Cove is carrying on about finding dead bodies. Lots of them.
HE'S PISSED
Cody joins Jilly at the scene. What they find doesn’t belong in the sleepy little town. An underwater grave filled with the mutilated bodies of several women. Chained by their ankles to cinder blocks. Their long flowing tresses waving back and forth with the current. Their distorted faces crying out in a silent scream for all eternity. A serial killer has been using the lake as his own personal dumping ground.

Due to the advanced decomp of the deceased; Cody and Jilly know the victims have been in the water a long time. Naturally they assume the killer has moved on. Until someone starts taunting them with psychological games. Then women begin disappearing at an alarming rate. Together they must stop this twisted killer or die trying.

    Amazing book. I read it in one go just could`nt put it down. I have read all four of Morgans books and loved them all especially The Sandman waited ages for Nightscream and was not disappointed. It was great that JJ and Meagan from the Sandman had their own story in this book. This book book has it all suspense, humour and romance. Highly recommend this book read it you wont be sorry.Cant wait for her next book.

    Having read and really enjoyed the first book in the series - Sandman - was looking forward to catching up with The Thomas family, and am sad to say have been left slightly disappointed.

    This book was not as gritty as the first, and certainly did not leave me wanting more. Although I liked Cody I just could not like Jilly and her attitude at all, and at one stage in the book (don't want to say where because it will spoil the read for others) it seemed far too light-hearted and jovial for what should have been a tense scene.

    The book isn't a bad read, it just didn't tick the boxes like The Sandman

    I had never read any books by Morgan Hannah MacDonald before downloading a free copy of Sandman. I was so impressed by her writing that I immediately downloaded her other three books. Nightscream was even better than Sandman and I am currently starting Last Scream. I am a prolific reader and when I find an author who has this much talent, I will read everything she ever writes. The plot is very fast paced with interesting characters and a complicated story line. I look forward to the other 2 books already written and hope she has more stories in a similar vein niggling within her brain even now.

    I've read both books 1 and 2 of this series and have not been disappointed! After finishing the first one, I feel like I actually know the Thomas brothers from some where. MacDonald creates the characters in her book with flaws, making them all the more believable. Nightscream is one of those books that keeps you on the edge of your seat and you really don't want to put down until the last page!
