    So much packed into story: Psychic powers used in the most frightening way, scary thoughts of a killer who reaches into minds to help his cause, also a sexy romance that happens after the very first meeting and although the intensity is rather 'overwhelming' it sits well with you when routing for the good guys.
    This really was a great read and it was one book where I wanted the clock to stop so I could just keep reading!
    A must read for anyone who loves a book so much that they don't want it to end experience, then this is it.

    I would call it a riveting romance with all I love from a great story but them one might say I'm biased because I love all of Maya Banks books so if you don't believe me then read it, you won't be disappointed.

    I have thoroughly enjoyed several of her books before, notably the KGI series. But there were too many inconsistencies in this book for me. For example the first time Caleb went up to the remote cabin he "picked up his phone and immediately called his brother". But the next time he went there he was frustrated because he had to go all the way back down the mountain to get a signal.
    Another time Ramie has worked out that if the psycho killer ever does manage to capture and kill her, it will just boost his ego and he will think he is invincible. Several chapters later Caleb tells her the same thing and she is amazed. She had never thought of that way!!
    I could just about put up with that but then we get to the part where the psycho gets inside Caleb's head and completely controls his actions without Caleb remembering a thing about it. Just by taking something Caleb had handed to him. Really? The psycho has been inside Ramie's head for 18 months. And wants to catch her so he can rape and kill her. So why didn't he just get her to drive wherever he wanted?
    Made no sense at all. Lost all credibility.

    This book starts right off with the action and never lets up until the very end! Caleb Deveraux is desperate to find his baby sister who has been kidnapped by a psychotic killer, so he tracks down the one person who can help him find her. Ramie St Clair. But after she vehemently shuts him down and tries to get him to leave, he thrusts his sister's scarf in her hands. Then he helplessly watches in horror as the reason for her almost 100% success rate plays out right in front of him. Ramie links with his sisterTori as she's tortured and raped and he sees the effects being played out on Ramie's body as well

    He gets the information he needs to locate Tori and save her, but vows to return to Ramie and repay his debt to her and help her. Ramie leaves soon after, and Caleb spends a year trying to find her. But when a brilliant,killer who also has psychic abilities has a link to Ramie and has his sites set on her, she knows she needs help. So she decides to call Caleb for help, and he and his brothers have formed a security company in the last year since Tori's kidnapping. Caleb immediately places Ramie in protection and he flies out to get her, vowing that he will protect her.

    The rest of the story is riveting, and I couldn't put the book down. I love all of Maya's books, but this is easily one of her best, even if it did go by quickly. It is a great first book to a new series and I cannot wait until the second book is released in January. Way to go Maya!
