Genevieve: A Witchblood Story (Witchblood Series) Kindle Edition

4.1 out of 5 stars 140 ratings

Paris, France 1793

Growing up in the court of King Louis XVI, Genevieve enjoys a sheltered privileged life with the gardens of Versailles as her playground, until on the eve of her nineteenth birthday, the king is executed and all hell breaks loose.

As family members and close friends fall prey to the Revolution, Genevieve turns to the one man who promises to help her; the shadowy figure in court, and friend to the elder brother that betrayed them all, but is Sebastian worthy of her trust or will he too betray her?

Genevieve has a choice to make, one that will change her life forever. Go it alone and try to escape the murderous streets of Paris, or join Sebastian, forget her nightmares and start a new life… an immortal life?

This is a novelette or short story of approximately 50 pages telling the story of Eva's beginning.

You don't need to read the series to love this short story. It enhances the character development of one of the main characters.

A month or so ago, I won a set of 3 books on Facebook, The Witchblood series by Emma Mills. I was pleased to find out from the author that she wasn't leaving the series where she left it and that she was working on a book about Eva and her life before becoming a vampire.

That book has now been released!!

When I saw the FB post that this had been released, I couldn't wait to read it as Eva was a great character in the Witchblood series.

It only chronicles her life just before and just after being changed by Sebastian, but it was great to see how she struggled to control her thirst and also her need for revenge.

The only issue I had was that it was set in 1793, yet read as if it were set in the present day which accounts for 3 stars instead of four, but that is minor, I just want more!

It's awesome to read the back story of these two intriguing characters and fun to find out that even Eva started out scared and not so full of confidence compared to the strong willed perfectly composed vamp we've been reading about! Can't wait for the next instalment

Disappointing far too brief an account of how Eva was changed.......would of have been better to read about how they settled in England and when her bonds with Sebastian finished.

3.0 out of 5 stars A WITCHBLOOD story. A very short story

What can I say..... interesting story. Was just getting comfortable with the story and BAM it was over. I'm left sitting here saying "what the ________?" Thought this was a book. I have read magazine articles longer. To be fair what little of story line there was, was actually pretty decent. WITCHBLOOD SERIES. thinking perhaps the series put all together might of been a good story book? Not going to download any more short stories here. Note have used story many times. Title has story in the name. In fairness, guess it never claimed to be a book.

This series is really intriguing and just when you though oh yeah another one of those vamp stories there's a twist of some sort. I am in love with this series and I didn't expect a YA book to capture me this way.
