    From niccis book blog.

This book is a story of MacKenzie who has a sweet heart crush on on her brothers best friend Hunter, there's lots of heat between the two. Hunter is a little older than Kenzie and he feels the heat between, them but he tries his best to be loyal to his best friends and stays away from Kenzie as best as he can.

So there's lots of will they, wont they tension going on in this book, Kenzie has a boyfriend to try and distract her feelings from Hunter, But he is a total douche to start with, i didnt like him much, until later in the book when he becomes a real friend to Kenzie, i found his character to be quite likable.

When Hunter and Kenzie finally give in to the feelings they have for each other, i found my self giving a big sigh of thank goodness, they are just so right for each other, its cute, sweet, loving, and they have some great sex together which is all written well, i loved the new years get away!

The book flows well and is a easy read with a captivating story, it makes you feel happy, sad, frustrated, and will leave you with a massive OMG! moment at the end, you will be `one clicking' that amazon button for the next book within minutes of finishing this book as there is a huge cliff hanger at the end, that all being said i loved this book and will so be reading the next book, Easy to love you.

I really enjoyed reading this story although I found that it jumped through time quite a lot and there were times where it would jump forward and then back without the author noticing what she'd done. Unfortunately I found the grammar in this book to be quite bad a times - the basic 'your' and 'you're' rule especially. Quite a few typos where random words were in sentences which was kind of a let down for a published book, could drag do with some more thorough editing!

Overall though I loved the storyline! I'm a sucker for cliches

I was torn between rating this three or four stars. On one hand, I really liked the story. It was a good in love with my brothers best friend story but on the other hand I’m not sure I was a fan of ANY of the characters. I’m hoping as we go into the second book the characters will redeem themselves and be a little more fleshed out. However, despite my lack of love for the characters, this was a drama filled novel that I did sit and read in one morning and I am also happy to read the novel that follows and continues Hunter and Kenzie’s love story.

Really, Really?? Did she just leave it off like that?!? Dang, I am still in shock. Really, that was not a nice ending. I have to wait until the next book to find out what will happen. She just pulled my heart strings thinking all will be well and then out of nowhere, something happens and the end! UGH! Not nice, that was not nice at all Megan Smith.

This book has me grateful that I was the oldest and my brother was much younger than me, because I could not put up with their crap if I had brothers that were that protective. But Kenzie is the youngest of four children and the only girl. Her dad taught her brothers to be protective of her and they took their job very literally.

We see glimpses of Kenzie's earlier life when she first meets Hunter, her brothers' best friend, and with Hailey, her best friend. They give us a little insight to how Kenzie feels about Hunter. We also get a little glimpse that Hunter feels something for Kenzie too. It all started with kissing in the rain! But Hunter chooses to remain friends with her brothers so keeps her at bay, but Dang, that boy flirts with her a little more than a friend should. It just makes things harder for both of them.

Kenzie decides that even though she dreams of Hunter every night and loves him from afar that she is going to have to keep moving. So Dominic comes into the picture. He is on the football team and he seems to make her happy for now. Dominic also doesn't put up with her brothers and they come to heads about it a few times.

Then college starts and Kenzie and Hailey go to school where Dominic will be. But Hunter also goes there; her brothers don't, and they tell Hunter to watch out for Kenzie. Hunter doesn't like Dominic. Neither did I, once they get to college. I didn't trust that boy. Dominic and Kenzie have a rocky relationship due to some possible other girl. But Kenzie keeps giving Dominic the benefit of the doubt. Hunter is still flirting away with her and they know how each other feels but Hunter won't act on it because of her brothers. Dumb girl! Dumb boy!

Hunter is there when things go south. He is sweet to her and never pushes her to do anything and won't allow them to go past certain points. He says that she isn't ready. He is so sweet. That guy thinks with his heart. He is definitely a book boyfriend for me. When he does tell her he loves her, it is perfect!

Dominic doesn't let go easily. Kenzie's brothers and Hunter beat the crap out of him a couple of times. Oh my gosh! But Hunter also has a hard time deciding who to choose and messes up with Kenzie. Her brothers were even madder about that. Mason is the angriest brother; he doesn't want Kenzie to have anything to do with Hunter.

There is a lot of trial and error. A lot of hiding and secrets and just when you think that all is settling down; there is something else that happens to shatter that and then again they work through that; and again bam something else happens and end of story. Wait for book two! Gah!

On my review on goodreads,I put a gif of a couple kissing in the rain.

4.0 out of 5 stars Happy as a clam to mad as a hornet in a matter of pages...

I was introduced to Megan Smith and her amazing writing style by Kim Box Person and SMR Promotions. I am participating in the blog tour for Megan's next book Easy to Love You, so I thought it would be smart to read this book first. Let me just say THANK YOU SMR PRODUCTIONS!! I am glad that I took the time to read this book because it was wonderful!!! The book was extremely well written and she writes with a style that keeps you engaged all the way to the end.

Trying Not to Love You is a story about McKenzie Cahill, a girl who has a serious crush on her brothers' best friend, Hunter. It is obvious that they both are attracted to each other, but they are afraid to go there. Mainly because Kenzie's brothers would DIE!! This story basically revolves around the both of them trying to dismiss any feelings that they might have until they just can't push them down any longer.

I thought that the story paced very nicely. You get a good mix of interaction between Hunter and Kenzie, to the point that you feel the pain that it is causing both of them to hold those feelings back. I really wanted to shake Kenzie at times, especially every time she runs back to Dominic. Dominic is a complete ass and I knew that he was trouble from the start!! I think the only reason that Kenzie went back to him is so she would have an excuse not to run to Hunter. He is a dick...plain and simple.

I was rooting for Kenzie, but there was times that I really didn't like her character. Probably the second 1/3 of the book (like 30%-60%) she just infuriated me! You could tell that she thought Dominic was asinine the whole time, but she kept going back to him. She was really wishy-washy. Also, after her and Hunter found their happiness, she was still kinda skiddish. I mean, I know that it is hard to trust someone when you have been burned, but she knew Hunter...since they were little. In my opinion, there should have been more trust on her part where Hunter is concerned.

I loved Hunter!! He was so rugged and sexy, but he had such a sweet soul. You could see the love that he had for Kenzie, from the moment that his eyes met hers in the kitchen when he was 13 and she was 10. He always cared for her and protected her, and that means a lot to me when I read these types of novels. The bad boy is nice, but I love the overprotective best guy friend that falls in love with girl best friend! Those stories keep me interested. As the book progressed, there were times that you wanted to smack Hunter, especially before they got together and he kept flirting and pushing her away. That got old really quick. I think that his loyalty to her brothers was nice, but when you love someone you just have to go balls to the wall.

The brothers, Cooper and Mason, were a TRIP!! They were funny, goofy, and really seemed to love their sister. I loved the beginning when they commented on how she dressed and the fact that she didn't need make-up. It was such a brother thing to say. However, I really wanted to punch Mason in the face about 30 % into the book all the way to the end. I understand that he wanted his sister to be safe and happy, but who would protect her more than the man that was raised with her and loved her for years?? No one!! Mason needs to let up and let them be happy!

I don't want to give too much away from the last 1/3 of the book. Let's just say that you will be happy as a clam then mad as a hornet in a matter of pages! And the ending will rock your world...even though I kinda knew that something bad would happen.
