I have read several of Steves' books and booklets now and the information he provides is useful, accurate, up to date and inspired. This book is the most recent that I have read. I did download this booklet for free when it was on for a trial period. This however does not influence or change my opinion of its value.

Steve guides you through the process of using various free tools for marketing purposes before you even start. This ensures you can succeed from the off. He outlines a clear process to follow, explaining and examining the steps along the way. This book is quite short in length, so it is succinct enough to keep you inspired/motivated to follow the steps,as soon as you finish reading.

So called "Internet Gurus" charge hefty sums of money for information that Steve is providing for pennies. Therefore this book is really great value for money.

The only caveat to this review would be that this booklet expands further on some of his more comprehensive books. The information is not actually repeated verbatim, it just adds and re-enforces the value of the original book. However if you got it the first time from reading his other books, you may think that re-iteration is unnecessary.

Having said that I took away a lot of unique value from this book.

Unless you know what you want to blog about, finding a niche is probably the most crucial part of starting a new blog. You will find useful information and ideas about what to consider and how to go about it.

There are links to other books by the writer and to sites which are on topic and useful. Some of the links will only work effectively on a larger screen. I would recommend this book to anyone struggling to find their niche, however, as with any other book it cannot make the decision for you. The book is well written, to the point and actionable. The writer is clearly speaking from knowledge and experience.

The best part of this for me was the advice on researching your niche, with great information about keyword searching etc. I learned a lot from this short book. It has also shined a light into areas I am ignorant in and want to learn more about.

Steve scott...great writer have so far read around 20 of his books (if it is that many...ilost count)

However I think it needs a little polishing in terms of seo since the big google keywording external tool is sadly been axed....and replacement keyword planner. Has started which in my own opion is rubbish but can see why mr google has done it to even the playing field online in its rankings

Apart from that the book touches on good ideas to blog topics currently trying out the other methods mentioned and love the quality and clearness steve writes

    Would still recommend this mind

My problem with this it can be read in 5 minutes and it just feels like an extended blog post. If this was a free book to get you to buy a bigger one I would understand but its not worth buying.

I am very happy with the book. Blog post ideas can be difficult to find sometimes, especially profitable ones. This book helps with this and a lot more. Thank you so much Steve!

5.0 out of 5 stars How to Find a Profitable Blog Topic Idea is Ideal for Beginners and Experienced Bloggers
Reviewed in the United States on 27 April 2013
Steve shows how you don't have to be an authority on a particular topic because you can also borrow authority or build it.. and he gives illustrations of famous bloggers who have done just that.

The important thing (Steve points out) is to have passion and a desire to create great content.

And if you don't have passion for a particular topic, Steve details a 4-step process for discovering it.

Then he shows you how to differentiate yourself from the sea of competition. It's actually a very simple technique and yet he's right to include it in his book as most online marketers miss it.. and ultimately fail.

    Steve also includes:
How to find topics and (equally important) How to know if your topic can be profitable.

Then he has a five question system setup that is designed to help you select the topic that is right for you.

If a new or experienced blogger follows the steps Steve outlines in this book, they can save years of wasted time and heartache on the wrong topic.

I make it my business to keep up on what works and what doesn't for online businesses. Steve has created a super helpful book here.

Buy the book. Do the steps he has so clearly laid out, and find your own money making idea. ~darlene of BlogBoldly.com

Reviewed in Australia on 25 April 2016
This is an excellent guide outlining the framework to finding a blog idea which combines passion and profitability.

    Favourite parts:
    1. '3 B's of authority' where the author gives ways for anyone to be recognised as an 'authority' on a topic without necessarily being an absolute expert in that field. You just need the desire to become a thought leader in your chosen niche.

    2. 7 steps to figure out if a blog idea is profitable.

Hoping the next book in the series will be just as good!
