This book is an easy light read but one that you couldn't put this book down. It's a well written book with laugh out loud moments. You can relate to the characters and they are well thought out. I'd quite like to live in Blueberry Springs! 5 stars for this book and recommended to anyone who likes to read a light romance novel. Off to the next book now, "Whiskey and Gum Drops"

Beth, while getting ready to marry her sweetheart, is heartbroken when he calls the wedding off. Reeling and trying to put her life back together she embarks on a fling with the hunky doctor, Nash. You will end up like and disliking both men during the book.

I like Beth's character, even though she is hurt, she has the strength to put her life back on track, albeit with bumps along the way. Oz and Nash? Good characters and I think their flaws made them more believable (even though I wanted to shake them at times.)

A good holiday 'chick' lit book to enjoy.

Okay so it's not really a man-book, but as I'm trying to read many different genres this year I chose this one for the romance read.

It's a nicely written book, a tad ploddy in some places due to Beth's repetitive inner dialogue and I did get a little fed up of hearing how Blueberry Springs; a hicksville town of country bumpkins where everyone knew each other's business and meddled and poked and pried. Actually it was a little patronising.

The characters are well thought out and Beth sustained the story despite not being an easy character to like, but why the heck did she waste her time on Oz, what a moron he came over as, completely devoid of any saving graces and in my opinion someone you wouldn't waste spit on. (But that is a man POV).

Ms Oram can pen some nicely written phrases, like: 'hurt clenching her soul'. and 'Silence pleated the air between them'. and my favourite, 'she felt as though her world was resting on a bed of loose marbles.' - how can you not appreciate such nicely thought out lines like that?

As a man I'd give this 3 stars but I'm sure had I the XX chromosome I think I'd have probably given it 4 stars... darn those Y chromosomes.

Woohooo Jean Oram has written a fantastic book.. I was hooked after a few pages..I loved it!! The characters were awesome and I felt as if I was there with them.. I could really relate to them... have to admit the story as it opened out kept me wanting more.... 2 hunky guys what more could this girl ask for in a book apart from a happy ending !!!... I Laughed out loud at many moments.. then others rocked my heart.. This wonderful author is now in my Favourite list.. I recommend this book 100%

What a brilliant book. Keeps you guessing all the way through a great romantic novel. While reading you can picture everything due to the brilliant writing. However the ending sucks!!! After reading so many pages the end of the book comes abruptly and this ruins it. This is the reason for 5 stars. After finishing the book you can then read parts from the next books, which I'm not a fan of

This has to be the best chick lit book I have read for a while (and I have read some good ones) simply because it makes it hard to put down! Scoffing these calories was great! Sweet but not overly so - balanced! And a happy ending! The fact that parallels to my own life could be noted made it enjoyable! Chick lit giving me insights to life. Who knew?

This was a cute book, did I want to high five Beth’s face… yea I did!! I found the characters a little annoying and inept at making any sort of life decisions that didn’t ruin everything!

I loved Gran though - she had her head screwed on right.

I chose this book because I liked the title. I was kept guessing right up to the last page. I grew up in a small village so I identified with the small town mentality and the problems it can cause. The best part is knowing that there are more stories to come!

Meet the citizens of Blueberry springs. A small town where nothing is kept secret for long. Beth a small town recreational therapist , Oz her small town fiancé , who needs a break to figure things out . Then there is Nash the hot big city doctor who is there for Beth in her hours of need when trying to figure out what Oz wants out of life. As they work their way through the ups and downs of small town life and the gossip that eventually gets spread around. Will they survive it and will Beth actually get married , You will have to read this book
I found this book and author at a book release party. I saw the cover and thought why not give it a try . It was free on amazon so what was I going to loose if I happen to not like it. Well I was wrong I loved it . The characters were funny and sweet. I mean how many women have had their boyfriends of significant others say , HEY I NEED A BREAK to get my head screwed on straight. Then us girls are like well what did I do wrong or can I help him with his journey of self discovery. Those are the feelings that Beth is having in spades. She doesn't know what to do. Should she help Oz or start living her life to the fullest. Nash helps her out with the living her life to the fullest but is he the right man for Beth. I thought so at first but then you start to have your doubts about Nash also. Beth wants the white picket fence and the two children but are either of those men even worthy of her love.
Jean has wove a special story about small town life and the characters that live there. We all have those people whose life it is to gossip and stick their noses into everything. The characters that Jean has written are flawed but also very lovable.
So if you want a great bath tub, curl up on the couch or even beach read . If you love romance and small town living. This is the book for you. Just a warning don't start this book before you go to sleep cause you will end up with a book hangover , cause once you start there will be no sleeping for you
