Captures the readers imagination instantly with suspense and intrigue which the author maintains throughout the book.

One recognises the author wishes to encourage a younger to read however there is a danger that interest will be lost by the wider audience if books remain at 200 pages per book!!

This book is a really descriptive and enthralling tale of a young man wanting to become a dragon, just like his father. There are detailed fight scenes which are not too graphic for teens. I really felt the bond between him and his dwarf companion. Just about to read the 2nd book.

I just finished book4 in the chronicals of dragon not too bad a read but I and am getting more frustrated after each book and very disappointed that the books are so short . The story is realy strung out over to many books (a very clever way to sell all ten books in my opinion ) I would never pay the total price of all the books for basically one story. As I said a very clever way to sell books , be careful you don't get caught up in them .

At the end of this book it more or less says it is aimed at children and very young adults. It would have been nice to have had that warning in the product description rather than at the end of the first book. For children this is actually probably pretty good but as a more mature reader it wasn't to my taste. A bit too childish which made sense when I read what the author said at the end.

I heartily recommend this series of books to all ages and all genders as the books have good male and female leading characters and they have kept me interested and entertained throughout the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great action packed fantasy series for young adults and grown ups alike.
Reviewed in Australia on 14 September 2015
A fun and easy fantasy read. Easy to get into, and to follow. The author achieved exactly that. The book revolves around a hero named, Nath Dragon. Together with his trusted companion Brenwar the dwarf, and his sure blade "Fang", they go on adventures to save captured dragons of all kinds. He does this in order to gain his "dragon scales", because Nath Dragon is not just any human; he is the descendant of a dragon family who just so happens to be still in his human form and will eventually become a dragon. By doing good deeds, like saving dragons and helping out friends, he comes closer to his goals. But doing bad deeds like killing people in order to achieve his goals, has consequences. The result is a darker and perhaps even evil outcome. The ends don't always justify the means, as Nath will find out.

A great action packed fantasy series for young adults and grown ups alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book!!!
Reviewed in the United States on 1 March 2016
From the International Bestselling author of The Darkslayer comes his next bestselling epic fantasy series ... The Chronicles of Dragon.

Welcome to the world of NALZAMBOR ...

Nath is a special warrior. He is a dragon born a man. In order to become a dragon, he must save the dragons.

For countless years Nath has been on a quest to become a dragon, but his meddling with the other races tends to get in the way. The way of men is not the way of Nath Dragon his father has warned him. Yet, Nath, unable to control his fascination of the world men, elves, dwarves and even the despised orcs, tends to get caught up in their affairs. To earn his scales, there is a high road he must follow.

With his close friend and ally, Brenwar the Dwarf, Nath, armed with a magic sword he calls Fang, travels to the Mountain of Doom, the Free City of Narnum and to Orcen Hold where nothing but trouble awaits.

Will Nath Dragon, hero of the realm and protector of dragon kind choose the right path or wind up on a dark one?
This book is a compelling fantasy about a dragon in transition named Nath. Nath was chosen to be the guardian, a bridge between the world of men and dragons. Nath desperately wants to earn his scales and become a full dragon but he has not fulfilled enough duties for it to happen. Frustrated with his son's attitude, his father gives him an ultimatum, either come home with your scales or don't come home.

Nath now feels the pressure more than ever to get his scales and he sets out on journey to earn them.

This books plot moves along nicely and has many battle scenes with dreadful creatures like orcs and other unpleasant things. The author gave Nath a sense of humor which I liked. I also liked Nath's struggle between the two worlds.

This is a book you will not want to put down as it immerses you into a world of dragons, elves, orcs and more. This book is great for kids too.
Nath Dragon is destined to replace his father someday but, not until he proves himself. His father banishes him and tells him not to return until he has decided if he wants to be a man or a dragon. Nath doesn't have any scales yet, though he is 200 years old. His father tells him only to return when he has earned his scales. Nath and his dwarven companion Brenwar are seeking evil, hoping to find the dealers that trade in dragon accessories. Dragon scales, teeth, skin, claws, and horns were highly prized possessions for wealthy citizens.

This is an exciting fantasy world, with ruthless characters and bloody battles. The story is a well-written, enchanting tale that swept me along with its vivid descriptions.
I am a sucker for fantasy from the get-go and The character of Nath Dragon is cocky and tough. He's also a dragon, who can take the shape of a man. If that hasn't piqued your interest, just wait, it gets better. Nath's life's work is to hunt dragon poachers. Along with his partner Brenwar, a dwarf with a gruff and wry sense of humor, Nath goes out of his way to find trouble before it finds him. I've read three novels by Halloran and each one surprises me more than the last. This author has the unique gift and skill of taking a classic theme and turning it on it's head, taking it in a completely new direction. This novel takes the mythical world of dragons and magical folk and weaves a tale filled with adventure. The dialog is excellent and the storytelling is stellar! I am glad that I got a chance to read this book!!!
