Tangled Beauty (Tangled, Book 1) Kindle Edition

3.9 out of 5 stars 8,561 ratings

He's handsome, sexy, and rich. Too bad he's also her date's brother...

Sinclair Jeffries thought she knew what she was getting into when her zany, gay friend, Jesse Eddington, talked her into portraying his girlfriend during his parent's anniversary party on Huntington Beach. That is, until she met Reed, Jesse's sexy as hell older brother, and ends up getting much more than what she'd bargained for.

Reed Eddington assumed his future was settled until he met Sinclair, his brother's so-called "girlfriend", but the raw, sexual tension between them is hard to ignore. As he watches their ruse from the sidelines, he finds himself wanting to uncover more than just their amusing little facade.

Due to sexual content and heavy subject matter, this billionaire romance book is recommended for ages 18+. This story has dark humor, romance, and suspense.

Brilliant book, great storyline and beautiful characters, 2 brothers Jesse n Reed are brothers and complete opposites, and Sinclair, best friend and lover. I didn't want to put it down, eager for the next chapter. Jack is a sleazy wealthy dirty old man who thinks that his high profile status gives him the right to have any woman he wants, even his sons fiancee Sela. Sinclair on the other hand sees right through him, and doesn't give in that easily. Michael is scary and kidnaps Sinclair bringing this story to another level. Gotta read the next episode.

Really enjoyed this book. There was a little plot twist that I didn't see coming. After trying myself this was going to be a predictable tale so I was nicely surprised. There's some great action and drama and the story gives the reader a little insight into what rubbing shoulders with the rich may get you.

It's well written and ideal for reading by the pool. The sort of book you can easily pick up where you left off.
The storyline is interesting and kept me the main characters enough to get me truly invested.
The end of the main story just ends abruptly. It was almost as if the author hit a deadline and decided to just add a few paragraphs and leave it there.
The final chapter was a nice touch, though!
All in all, an OK read.

I thought this book sounded interesting and thought I'd give it a go because it was free. I'm really pleased I did now. I loved the characters and even the detail put into some of the minor ones. I had been worried about the twist in the plot and and how it would be resolved, but I was pleasantly surprised and can't wait until the next book to see what this author has in store! I also like the idea that despite this book being part of a series, it appears to be a book that can be read as a stand alone or you can go on to the next book featuring new main characters, but still find out how the old characters developed.

Let me start by saying I DETEST the cover, kind of freaky and vampire- ish looking nothing like the amazing story inside.

So I feel really chuffed with this short read not only was it great but it was free, after a few chapters I was getting the vibe of the awesome book Collide, however it delivered all up till the end chapters then I felt a little robbed by the conclusion as I did not feel satisfied and it could have been executed better or at least have me panting for a part 2 but nada :( so sadly it gets a 4 star instead of 5

The story is about the beautiful hairdresser Sinclair who agrees to help out her lovely and fun gay best friend by pretending she is his girlfriend as his snobby homophobic parents will have his trust fund cut off if they found out is sexual preference - now Mr Gay (jesse)loves the high life and labels but is in no way cold and snobby like his folks.

Attending the high society party of his parents anniversary soirée , Sinclair gets to meet the gorgeous and favoured family member Reed who happens to be the elder brother of her best friend, the sexual chemistry is sky high from their first introduction but he has a Bitch of a supermodel girlfriend who definitely adds fire and wide eyed drama to this great read.

So on offer is a steamy sexy book full of lies, deceit, steamy shower scenes and a crazy stalker add the complications of Jesse and Reeds parents marriage and the battle of morals it truly adds up to a great read.

This book started out as a nice light-hearted read. Enjoyable and not to serious. The romance was a little hormone oriented but somewhat believable and addictive to read. Then the alternate storyline took over and it sort of fell apart. The crime/suspense element was just a little rushed and almost seemed as if it was added in as an afterthought. It was like two books tangled together. One of which was pretty enjoyable if needing a little work. The other was like a very first attempt at an idea scribbled in a notebook.

On the whole I enjoyed the book, but I'm glad it was a free read.

This book was a really enjoyable read, although I didn't enjoy the ending. Sinclair is a normal young woman whose been hurt before so is more reserved with her heart, she works, reads and enjoys her friends which leads her to the weekend at Jesse's family home. Jesse is her best friend and also gay, he hasn't told his family and Sin agreed to be his girlfriend for the weekend. Unfortunately she didn't count on his brother being the one who would stir her insides. Reed is instantly attracted to Sin even though he's currently engaged with Sela, he knows its not meant to be but meeting Sin confirms that. Will they allow their feelings to grow or will something sinister stop them in their tracks?
This story was good, the writing, plot and characters are good. This is an engaging read and kept me glued to the story. Lots of angst, some cute moments, not much romance but the sex is hot, the plot has a sinister turn which had potential, but the ending was too quick and didn't go into it. Sin's feelings toward Reed are not discussed and she doesn't call him out about his apparent behaviour, it seemed rushed. overall I enjoyed the read and would recommend apart from the stories conclusion.

I was in the mood for some romance, and this book came right down my alley :D The story is interesting, with an unexpected turn towards the end - which is not very much developed in this book, but will probably be brought up in a follow-up. I would recommend the book for a quiet weekend, when you are looking to escape the harsh reality.

5.0 out of 5 stars I've added the sequel to my wish list / purchase queue.

Let me start with the story itself. I loved this book. I LOVED the easy friendship between Jesse and Sinclair. It was easy to hate Sela and Jack, and maybe even Mimi, and it was easy to love Reed, especially after getting to know Sela. Michael was an interesting twist to the story, especially toward the end of the book when I just knew everyone was being too naive if they believed that little sub-plot was really finished. I'm curious to see if it is continued in any way in the sequel to this book (Tangled Mess).

As for my thoughts on the writing and the quality of the book? As mentioned in several other reviews I've read, there were a few errors in it that were missed in editing, and there were a few bits of the plot that I didn't entirely agree with (there is a running thread of infidelity through the different storylines), but the overall story was cute and the attraction between Reed and Sinclair was entirely believable.

The dialogue between the various characters felt real and natural, and I found myself laughing out loud even during the more suspenseful parts of the story. Clearly, Ms. Middleton has a fun and perky sense of humor, which comes through in the writing and the characters. I found this book to be refreshing, entertaining, and a pleasure to read. Not to mention ... the sexy scenes? S to the EXY, you guys. Seriously. That scene in the back hallway off the kitchen? Woah.
