The Arrangement Vol. 1 (The Arrangement:Ferro Family) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 3,870 ratings

THE SERIES WITH OVER 20 MILLION COPIES SOLD
Volume 1 in the New York Times Bestselling Arrangement Serials

Just when Avery doesn't think life could get any worse, her crappy car stalls on Deer Park Avenue—and gets jacked. When a hot stranger offers to help, she can't say no. That's how Avery mets New Yorker Sean Ferro—the totally sexy, dangerously dark & very damaged guy with more secrets than she has time for.

Avery doesn't have time for anything anymore. Her is life falling apart and it's not just the car. It's everything. And it doesn't matter how tightly she tries to hold on, there's nothing left to hold on to. With the sudden death of her parents, it's only a matter of months until Avery's chance at college is gone and she's living in a cardboard box. Other students have their families to rely on when things get bad. Avery has no one.

But there's one option. One incredibly sexy, morally devoid, option. If Avery takes a job as a call girl, one guy could save her.
One client. One time. She just has to say yes.

I enjoyed it. It was well written, with a strong story line. She also manages to make them likeable and sympathetic. And I'm keen to find out what happened next... However what kinda of puts me off is reading twenty more to find out the end, so I'm still pondering but the pull is hard.

So here we've got a university student Avery Stanz. She's struggling to keep up with her school studies, as-well as her job duties. She has to maintain this to keep the life she's living at the moment. But truth be told, it's not great, she's a hostess at a restaurant that doesn't pay well and demands alot of hours.

She gets duped at the lights when her car stalls, and ends up running halfway down the road to retreve from a jacker who thought he'd get a quick get away.

To make things better though for Avery in comes the cavalry, Sean Ferro.

If you haven't read the Damaged books (as they slightly mention Sean in them) then you'll be pleased to know that I think this is the starting point of hearing about Sean's history, his past.

We don't see much of what he's like in this, other than he seems to have an infatuation with Avery, and he dabbles in the "Call Girl" scene.

I would love to read more of this story and see how this pans.

Although this is the first book in this series, they all follow on from another, and there only roughly 20K words, which isn't alot and it keeps you on your toes. There all novella type of books :) Which can be good in a sense, but can get expensive when you haven't read any and need to read them in bulk :(

I'd love for H.M Ward to maybe write a FULL book about Sean & Avery, just like Sydney & Peter :) Just a thought!

This is the first part of a series of books about Sean Ferro and Avery, about how they meet and then get together. It ends with them negotiating 'an arrangement'. I found it compelling and can't wait to find out what they arrange.

I enjoyed the first couple but then the story has become predictable. Some good editing would take out long winded passages about how damaged they both are - we get it so move on with the story and I could've saved about £12. I got up to 15 and now what happens. Not sure I will bother finishing it now. Got a bit bored with these types of books. They are all the same. Damaged people have anal sex at least once and can't help themselves. Yawn.

From the start of book right to end you get a great feeling on who the Heroine is and her life at the time. Just a totally awesome start that you know your going to have to read everything to the last book of this series or you may miss something important and you can put yourself in Avery's position and learn things right along with her.

5.0 out of 5 stars It’s sexy, sassy, funny and dark.
Reviewed in the United States on 22 August 2014
This is one of my favorite serials ever. It’s sexy, sassy, funny and dark.

This serial belongs to the dark and brooding Sean Ferro. He’s the first Ferro I was introduced to, and he holds a piece of my heart. As the series start out, Sean is very mysterious, and to be honest – 15 volumes in (when I’m writing this review), he still is a bit of an enigma. There is still a lot to be learned. He’s a dark SOB, this one. He’s got his fetishes, but holy wow is he delicious. And scary. Seriously, I love him – but if I had known him IRL I would have been scared s***less, and kept my distance.

Then we have Avery. This girl’s got some spunk. I mean she has to, given that Sean is her love interest. She’s a struggling student when we first meet her, and when her best friend, Mel, realizes this, she reveals what her REAL job is. She’s a high dollar call girl. Miss Black latches on to Avery immediately, and if Avery just takes one client, it could solve all her problems. She only has to say yes. Problem is she only wants one guy, Sean. Enter: a s***load of trouble.

“I’m rewarded, uh, I mean punished, with a slap to my backside.” - Avery

This is an erotic romance, and you can expect some mighty steamy scenes. Some of the volumes more so than others, because there is a hell of a lot going on in this series. The Arrangement, and Sean basically, was like the catalyst for all the other books from this same world. Sean has made an appearance is in every spin-off so far. So this is obviously a great place to start if you are curious about H.M. Ward’s books. Just remember to start at the beginning. You would not understand half of what’s going on if you jumped into it halfway through.

It’s important to note that this is a fan driven series. Essentially that means that as long as the fans want more, there will be more. And I honestly can’t picture the day we won’t want more. So if that is not for you, I recommend you go pick up something else, because this story has been going on for a good while now, and I certainly hope it will go on for a long time to come – as long as Holly wants it to.

Another important note is that these are split up in volumes, and each one end on a cliffhanger (Holly is the queen of cliffhangers). It’s nerve-wracking every time. And it is one of the tings that keep it just as exciting as it was in the beginning. As well as the fact that they’re always fast paced, and it never gets boring. Each volume starts off exactly where the last one left off. I always like to re-read the latest volume before the next one releases because you really get thrown right back into the action without any recaps. It really is kind of built like a TV-show, which is so awesome, because something like that is currently in the works! *fangirls* Just Imagine seeing THE Sean Ferro on screen…

H.M.Ward has provided just enough to give the reader that little taste of what will be without actually giving anything away. It begins in such a way to provide a good basis for our characters,
moves us into another layer of the relationship buildup and then sparks the appetite to know where it ends and the twists & turns that must come in between. Looking forward to the next part of Avery's journey.
