Another Saturday Night and I Ain't Got No Body (A Page Turners Novel Book 1) Kindle Edition
USA TODAY Bestselling author Jennie Marts brings you a cozy mystery series full of quirky characters and small town charm as the Page Turners book club turned amateur sleuth search for clues and romance...while eating really great desserts!
Sunny’s not sure she’s even looking for Mr. Maybe, when her friends decide to find her Mr. Right...
Sunny Vale considers herself a dog-loving, romance-reading, homebody. But her life goes from dull to deadly when her book club fires her from her own love life and sets her up on six blind dates- one of whom might be with a murderer. More trouble arrives in the dead of night, in the form of Jake Landon, a mysterious stranger, who breaks into her neighbor’s house and possibly her heart. But Jake is packing more than a loaded gun in his well-fitting Levi’s. He brings an arsenal of secrets and plenty of heat to Sunny’s ho-hum summer.
Jake Landon finds himself caught up in the capers of the sexy blonde in the house next door. But he has his own agenda which doesn’t involve playing hero to a curvy second-grade teacher and babysitting her panty-puking puppy. He's got other problems like fiery explosions, a missing person...and a parade of jerks Sunny insists on dating.
Could Sunny’s Mr. Right be right under her nose? Even though Jake is gorgeous, likes her dog, and has abs she can crack an egg on, can she really go out with him if he’s just murdered her next door neighbor?
"This book just might be the most fun I've had reading in years." -- Fic Central Reviews
Women of all ages will enjoy this cozy mystery series that blends romantic comedy, humorous women's fiction, and a whole book club full of amateur sleuths in this hilarious small town mystery.

About the author

Jennie Marts is the USA TODAY Best-selling author of award-winning books filled with love, laughter, and always a happily ever after. Readers call her books “laugh out loud” funny and the “perfect mix of romance, humor, and steam.” Fic Central claimed one of her books was “the most fun I’ve had reading in years.”
She is living her own happily ever after in the mountains of Colorado with her husband, two dogs, and a parakeet who loves to tweet to the oldies. She’s addicted to Diet Coke, adores Cheetos, and believes you can’t have too many books, shoes, or friends.
Her books range from western romance to cozy mysteries but they all have the charm and appeal of quirky small town life. She loves genre-mashups like adding romance to her Page Turners cozy mysteries and creating the hockey-playing cowboys in the Cowboys of Creedence. The same small town community comes to life with more animal antics in her latest Creedence Horse Rescue series. And her sassy heroines and hunky heroes carry over in her heartwarming, feel good romances from Hallmark Publishing. Take the Honey and Run is her newest cozy mystery in the A Bee Keeping Mystery series.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2017First time reading Jennie Marts' books, & I did enjoy it. This is a quick, light read with fun, romance & mystery.
The book focuses on Sunny, a single thirty-something teacher. Her friends at the Page Turners Bookclub try to set her up with six dates during the summer holidays, with some hilarious results.
Her neighbour Walter next door disappears & shortly after, a hunky guy claiming to be his grandson, moves into the property. Of course, Sunny is attracted to Jake's good looks & fab fit body, but when the police finds Walter's prized possessions in the aftermath of his garage explosion, is Jake the murderer?
With an unknown stalker after her, & Sunny seriously falling for Jake, can he be trusted with her life & her heart?
As I said, I enjoyed this book. I liked the characters & Ms Marts' writing. There was no sex or bad language, & I don't think there were any errors/ typos. I enjoyed reading about Sunny's friends & dates. It was a bit predictable (she was going to fall for someone!) & I could see her friends falling for certain "dates". I didn't realise who the stalker was until quite late on (yes, I was a bit slow!) & I certainly didn't expect the twist near the end of the book!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 June 2016This book centres around sunny and her dog!! Sunny is single and in need of a date so her 6 friends fix her up on dates for the next 6 Saturday's but love is closer than she thought. This books was an easy read and was a chic lit crossed with a who dunnit, it wasn't taxing to read but had enough going on to keep you interested.
A good read that could be picked up as and when and you wouldn't lose the story plot.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 March 2021Sunny is a second grade school teacher and a member of the "Page Turners Book Club". The women who make up the rest of the book club decide to help Sunny find a man and each one of them sets her up on a date. Multiple dates leave Sunny with a string of unsuitable and in one case, dangerous dateable men. Her neighbour's shed has mysteriously gone up in smoke and the neighbour is missing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh out loud booK!
Yes, this is a very good book. All the characters in this book were amazing. You start reading and get all serious then all of a sudden poor Sunny does something and you just burst out laughing, and Edna, well what a character. This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I will certainly read the others in this series. I highly recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Einfach nur super!
Inhalt:
Page Turners Reihe:
Band 1 (Sunny): Another Saturday Night and I Ain’t Got No Body
Band 2 (Maggie): Easy Like Sunday Mourning
Fazit:

5.0 out of 5 stars Jake Landon and Sunny Vale - steamy together
Another Saturday Night and I Ain't Got No Body is the first book in A Page Turners Novel Book series by Jennie Marts.
This book had me laughing so hard I was crying, then I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. There is a mysterious stranger next door you feel safe with. Your love life is non-existent so you agree to six blind dates. The guys are all sweet and charming but one date is enough. Strange calls start coming in and it appears you now have a stalker. You live alone but the mysterious strange next door always seems to know when you need help. Will he be around when things get really dicey? I loved this book, at times I was laughing so hard I had tears running down my face. If you have ever hard a date that didn't go well this book will put a new twist on a date not going well. I enjoyed it so much I plan to read it again. This is definitely a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious, laugh out loud romp
Jennie Mart delivers a cast of thoroughly adorable eclectic characters that you will fall in love with - especially her leading man, Jake.
She writes beautifully and keeps you guessing to the final ... (ahem) ... satisfying... end. I honestly did laugh out loud while reading this book as the gorgeous Sunny bravely tackled blind date after blind date. Just brilliant and I can't wait to continue with the series.
