Where I Need to Be: A Billionaire Suspense Romance (Club 24 Book 1) Kindle Edition
Not everything stays in Las Vegas ...
Spencer Marshall was done moping. After catching her boyfriend cheating with his secretary, she decides to have a girl's weekend in Vegas with her best friend, Ryan. Lady Luck must be looking out for Spencer, because the hottie that has caught her eye at her new gym is on the same flight to Vegas.
Spencer is old-fashioned in the sense that she feels the guy should make the first move, but this hottie hasn’t approached her … until they have one hot dance in Vegas that leaves her questioning his motives.
Will her mystery man finally speak to her, or will he continue playing a game of flirtation that may lead to nowhere? And will situations from their past keep them from taking the next step?
Despite what people say, not everything stays in Vegas, especially when you work out every day at the same time and at the same gym.
Novel now includes Finding Spencer from Brandon's POV
With a crazy ex-girlfriend who won’t leave him alone, Brandon Montgomery is determined to move on to the brunette hottie who caught his eye at the gym he owns. Things start out slowly with Brandon and Spencer, since neither one can find the courage to speak to one another until they both happen to be in Vegas for a weekend.
It’s not true. Things don’t always stay in Vegas, and lucky for Brandon, the girl he wants to be with lives in his town. Now if his crazy ex-girlfriend, Christy, would leave him alone, Brandon could move on to where he needs to be.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 March 2014I love the intro to the story, not long and deffo to the point! With my love of Genres like 'Erotica', I instantly look for the straight away short sharp injection ... and this delivers it. Kim doesn't tip-toe around the tulips, she instantly grips you with 'thought for food' and 'imagination for dessert'.
You have the young, beautiful, smart, lovely and kindhearted, Spencer Marshall girl. She's an executive assistant, striving to be CEO of a start-up internet company called; "Better Keep Jogging Baby" ([...]). The company's website privides page after page of fitness and nutrition tips and information to the world. Features and Reviews the locals and highly eclaimed gyms around America. Spencer, being brought up in a less fortunate family life, gives her that grateful and symathetic edge, which is why she can never say no, and believe it's the reason she's dealt such s**** cards. She gives you the sense that she's worked hard to get where she is and she'll keep at it no matter what; and she's done really well for herself.
Her simpatico and subtle support system is provided by her best friend and roommate, Ryan Kennedy, the sharp shooting, hard hitting force that Spencer needed in her life, she forces her recovery after a bad break-up.
Spencer's recent luck of the draw found her in termoil with ex-boyfriend Travis, AKA; TravAss, AKA: "Biggest mistake in her life so far". Fate takes a back-seat and she's saved by destiny when she is nominated to do a report/ checkout/ take advantage of a 2 week free gym membership at the local and newly opened gym; "Club 24" by her boss, whom should have been doing that report herself. Spencer takes the challenge and heads to the gym where destiny meets her at the front head-on.
Now some would say it was predictable that Spencer would find someone at the gym, i'm sorry but how many times have you found someone at the gym? Especially after a brutal break-up? No, I didn't think so. It isn't as predictable as you might think, it's hard enough after a break-up that you'd instantly get back out there searching for another potential relationship, you're heart broken, you're insecure, you're vulnerable... especially in Spencer's circumstances, she had her heart broken and stamped on. TrevAss was unfaithful, caught jolly-rodgering his secretary in his office! A-Hole!
So like I was saying, it's not predictable to say that Spencer would meet someone at the gym. At first I thought it was going to be the Instructor, the Trainer, or even the dirty towel boy, but never the owner of the gym, i expected most gym owners to be less than fit, or is that just the stereo-type in my talking!! In any case, the owner of this gym had to be where destiny handed her the lushous, sexiest, buffiest, amazeballs, Brandon Montgomery from Texas. Spencer had hit the jack-pot with this guy.
At first it seemed he wasn't internested, and it's probably something that would happen to me lol he doesn't actually speak to her for the first week, he just smiles a lot and makes eye contact, but never says a thing to her. Like I would have, Spencer cuts her losses and decides to give up on the idea of Hotty at the gym and her.
I won't give no more away, it'll turn into a spoiler rather than a review as my partner says (lol) you can see this review on my blog review at [...], facebook page @Author2AuthorBC, also on most social and media sites like Goodreads/Barnes & Noble etc...
Awesome first book Kim, I'm looking forward to getting the full set and continue my journey with Spencer and Brandon in 'Wanted'.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 June 2014I had this book on my iPad for a while before I actually read it. For some reason I kept putting it off… WHY?! Very bad decision on my part because I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. It has a lot of elements in books that I love and it was a nice light read with plenty of twists and turns in the plot that keeps you entertained and gripped to the storyline.
I loved Spencer and Brandon as a couple, they were fun and easy to like. The writing style was also pleasant and I quickly read this book in one sitting, ready for the next one. I am glad that I finally read this as it is definitely worth it, a pleasant read with a little bit of angst and shock to give it the extra edge.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 October 2017I liked this book. It was the first book I have read by this author but I would read more of their work in the future.
The storyline kept me interested and the characters were likeable. I didn't realise when I began that this is only the first installment in these characters' story. I would continue the series as I would like to find out what happens with these characters. There was a couple of things I thought were going to happen but didn't so I would like to know if they occur in the next book.
There was one aspect to this book that I didn't particularly like. The main female character's name is Spencer and her female best friend (a secondary character) name is Ryan. The fact that they had male names bugged me.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 February 2025Great book but I don't understand the need of the extra read. It states it have read after the book is done. All it did was repeat the story. Don't bother reading the novella

This has been on my TBR for some time, and being on vacation I decided to make a start!
So we meet Spencer after catching her ex doing the unthinkable!
She has an assignment at work, to do a review for the new Gym in town.
So whilst sampling the Gym, she sees the hot fit chap next to her on the treadmill, and he unknowingly helps her to get over her ex!
They bump into each other in the airport lounge both going to Vegas! She ends up dancing with him during the weekend, but still knows nothing about him, eventually they end up chatting, and fireworks are lit!
They begin to move fast, and they start hanging out! with the relationship moving very fast and furious!
We then get to hear about his crazy ex, who is hell bent on getting him back, we also find out his name is Brandon. His crazy ex stops at nothing to try and get Spencer off the scent, and to win Brandon back, but Spencer and Brandon are both falling in deep with each other.
Then the crazy ex, drops in their lap that she is expecting his baby! even though it feels very wrong, they both accept the future, even informing his parents!
They meet both sets of parents, and its looking good, until Spencer is waiting for Brandon at his apartment, when she gets a visitor, thinking its Brandon she rushes to greet them only to find the ex in the lobby! Suddenly things turn nasty and the ex tries to kill Spencer, only to have the tables turned, she ends up stabbing herself! After the hospital visits the truth becomes known, leaving Spencer and Brandon to begin their future together!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 April 2013This book had a good story line but was very rushed. It jumped through days at a time within a few sentences. I found it had very little substance for you to really get into the characters but still an enjoyable quick read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved, Loved, Loved This Book
This story is about Spencer and Brandon. Spencer has had a rough go of things. She catches her boyfriend of two years cheating on her. after her best friend Ryan breaks up with her boyfriend they decide to drown their sorrows in Vegas. Before all of this Spencer eyes a man next to her on a treadmill at the gym. She is genuinely attracted to him. She than eyes him at the airport before their flight to Vegas. What are the chances of that? Well after an encounter at a club in Vegas she is smitten. She runs into him once more at a poker table and get to talking on a more personal level and it turns out his name is Brandon and the gym she goes to he owns. He takes a more personal interest in her. They both find they are deeply attracted to one another. And so begins, they are pretty happy with one another and everything seems to be going quite perfectly. You know no great love story is without a little drama! Enter crazy ex with some shocking accusations. What happens next will keep you wanting more. They become inseparable. Living and loving is what they are both best at together. They both believe they found the one. I would have to agree.
No one who has ever loved has had an easy go of things. That doesn't exclude Spencer and Brandon. Spencer is a very honest and trusting woman. She never doubts Brandon's intentions. She lays her heart out for him for the taking. Brandon is so good to her. He is loving and attentive. The kind of man Spencer deserves. These two are so utterly perfect together. Loving the both of them is guaranteed. Through this whole book I never once doubted the love that Spencer and Brandon had for each other. I just wanted their happiness to last as long as possible. When you meet the one you would do anything for them. Spencer does that for Brandon. Brandon in turn does the same for Spencer. What they go through together is nothing that a couple still getting to know each other should be experiencing. They are so into each other that they don't want anything to get in the way of what they could have.
I honestly adored this book. I couldn't get enough of Spencer and Brandon. They had so many sweet moments. I just loved the way things progressed between these two. It made you feel for a very happy ending for them. When you meet the one you are willing to lay it out all for them. That is how I felt about these characters. There feelings they had for one another outweighed all the bad to come. I can't tell you enough how much I enjoyed this book. I am sure you will too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ok Read
The story itself was good. Spencer and Brandon are both likable characters and it was easy to get invested in their relationship, hoping they get a HEA. There are some hot sex scenes and a slight thread of suspense.
What I didn’t like is that it’s written in Spencer’s single POV, to discover at the end that Brandon’s POV is another entire book to purchase. It also ended very suddenly and I’m actually not sure if the next book is a carry-on or if that’s how it was meant to end? On a personal note, the names “Spencer” and “Ryan” being used for female characters really bugged me

4.0 out of 5 stars Where I need to Be Book 1 of series!
"Where I need to Be", is a great read, and I finished it in one reading as I liked it that much! It is fast paced and does not drag like some books do, and I look forward to the next book, which I am going to read after I write this review.
Without giving too much away, this is the story about a young woman named Spencer who lives with her friend Ryan; they have been friends since their freshman year at college, so they are more like sisters really. Spencer has just broken up with her boyfriend of 2 years, and is feeling a little depressed about it, so her roommate decides they will go to Vegas! The cure all for everything is Vegas!
Spencer works for the newspaper, so she has been given a pass to check out a new fitness club in town that just opened. While there she sees a man who is around her age and is interested in meeting him, especially since he keeps smiling her way. However she does not want to be the first one to make a move, as she is kind of old-fashioned that way. Coincidentally, he (Brandon) and a couple of his friends are also on the same plane to Vegas. They finally meet after a 'hot' dance, and he tells her that he will see her Monday at his gym. Spencer also gets to meet his business partner and his wife while in Vegas and the woman invites Spencer to her photography showing.
The book had a good plot, was well written, and had a lot of emotional and hot sexual encounters between Spencer and Brandon, as well as emotional angst among a few other characters that will also be in the following books. A major problem develops that tests Spencer and Brandon's relationship, and you will have to read it to find out what happens to them when one of the characters drops a bomb on their new found happiness and love. There is going to be 2 more books in this series as well as a novella, which is next so this book sets the right pace for the next book.
If you like to read romance with a good story line. that has enough angst to make it interesting and great well developed characters, then this is the book for you! I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what happens next.
I gave this book 4 **** stars!
