Praise for Anatomy...
"Anatomy is a short story that had a serial killer that was really
creepy. The FBI profiler, Harbinger, was a real wise guy but also very
brilliant. It was interesting and a fast paced story. I can't wait to
read more of these stories about Harbinger. He has become one of my new
favorite characters."

Praise for Club Death...
"How to describe Club Death?
Creepy? yes. Fingernail biting scary? uh uh. Sympathy inducing? How could you not feel sorry for Josh and Allie, so far in over their heads even they know they're not cool. And when the Armani-wearing high end drug dealer starts to seem empathetic compared to the wigged-out host of Club Death... Oh yeah, and a Granny in the attic with a hole where her voice box was? Psycho anyone? Nah."

About the authors
Ben Hopkin is a transplanted Texan. After being indoctrinated in the Lone Star State, he was ripped from his ancestral home and whisked away to Los Angeles, where he was forced to appreciate fish tacos and sushi. While there, he worked as a professional actor, director, and producer, as well as a teacher, which he loves most. He has now settled in Provo, Utah, with his wife and three children. Just in case there was any question, Provo is NOT a happy medium between Ft. Worth and LA, although his kids have made the transition from body boards to snowboards seamlessly.
Carolyn has had a long and extremely interesting road to become a bestseller.
When she head to veterinary school those many years ago she had no idea decades later she would be writing controversial historical thrillers, gut wrenching mysteries and roller coaster-style action/adventure tales!
Born in San Francisco and raised in the beautiful Napa Valley, Carolyn always had an overactive imagination. As a child you could usually find her dragging the neighborhood children out to the haunted barn to make her Nancy Drew-style audio tapes. Oh and did she mention, there was an entire life-sized recreation of the nativity scene in the rafters? Yeah, that wasn't just a little creepy.
Which of course was great practice for writing such blockbusters as Plain Jane: A Patterson-style thriller with a dash of Hannibal and 30 Pieces of Silver: An Extremely Controversial Historical Thriller.
Carolyn is honored to have a seven book contract with Amazon's mystery and thriller imprint, Thomas & Mercer along with being one of the eight books during the inaugural launch of Amazon's new Serial program (9th Circle).
With nearly 700,00 books sold, Carolyn now lives on a beautiful lake in the Pacific Northwest where the fog rolls in over the water, snuffing out all signs of life around her. Yep, she still loves the creepy!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 November 2015SOFAR I HAVE NOT GOT VERY FAR,BUT WHAT I HAVE READ I AM VERY IMPRESSED.ASK ME A GAIN IN A MONTH TIME,AS I AM A VERY SLOW READER, AS I ALLWAYS FALL ASLEEP,THEN I START THAT PAGE AGAIN.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 October 2013If like me you are a bit fed up with books being either about impossibly handsome billionaires falling in love against their better judgement with naive women (who are nearly always skinny & beautiful without being aware of it) or about impossible secrets which will tear the world apart when the puzzles which are 100's of years old and still vald are solved then this lot could be for you.
I actually enjoyed these so much that I went out and bought the box sets that these stories lead on to. Interesting stories and characters that are not run-of-the-mill. Thanks for these.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 December 2013Being short stories I found myself at the end of each rather to quickly. The set offered good value for money and kept me reading each to the end. These stories suited my needs for reading via the Kindle.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 December 2013Yet ANOTHER great series of books, the prequels always leave me looking for more - which is, I suppose, the point.
Half the fun is figuring out who the killer is, I haven't managed it yet though.
I'm now off to buy the next set!!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2014I didn't like it. Didn't like the american jargon. First few lines -'I hawled ass...' it put me off right at the beginning. Not for me, Thanks.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 November 2013This I quite a good read if you don't object to a bit of blood and Gore. I found the first story very like a Friday the 13th type story. Though I enjoyed reading this box set, I didn't find it quite up to the standard of the other box sets I have read. Still excellent value for what I paid.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 12 May 2014A truly thrilling, macabre and grisly set of stories. Some horribly explicit depictions of torture, stomach churning yet forcing the reader to continue on hoping that the killer would be discovered. Not for the squeamish.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 March 2013i quite enjoyed most of these books, the majority of people will buy them because of the price. You can't beat a box set for 77p and they were readable if not brilliant works of fiction

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great collection for anyone who likes mystery and suspense novels
I liked every book in this collection. Only one was a little bit of a dissapointment but was still not a bad read. I had read one of them previously that I had bought as a single but gave it another read anyway as it was a good story. All in al the set will keep you reading and turning the next page and each book will catch your interest and be glad you bought the set.

5.0 out of 5 stars New reader
The plots are fast-moving and imaginative. Reading these short stories was a delight and I'll definitely be reading more of Ms. McCray's work. It's been a long time since I've found an author whose plots and character development appealed so much to me. Too many mysteries are hackneyed with recycled plots and are pretty much slow-action and boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want more!!
A great introduction to the author and some of her many characters. I enjoyed all the stories in this collection, and really connected to the main characters who, unlike some from other writers, are not perfect, have family problems, insecurities, and all those issues that real people have to cope with.
I have already ordered 2 more collections of McCray !

4.0 out of 5 stars Brief novels or shortstories here.
The only negative I found is the length of each work . . . all were more short stories moreso than novels. As to the enjoyment factor, I did . . . each of the stories were well written and captivating, I had to force myself to lay the works down rather than read each story line from start to fininsh.
With all that said, I would recommend this work as a good read.

1.0 out of 5 stars a book collection that was not
I was extremely disappointed to purchase a book collection only to find that it was a collection of short stories.
