Cursed (Book 1, The Watchers Trilogy) - Young Adult Paranormal Angel Romance Kindle Edition
When Lilly goes away to college, she finds herself caught between two loves — and plunged into a titanic battle between good and evil.
Since she was eight years old, Lilly Rayne Nightingale felt like fate was trying to wipe away her existence through a series of odd, near fatal incidences. Luckily, her best friend Will was always one step ahead of fate, preventing her from being at the wrong place at the wrong time. Will was her knight in shining armor...until he broke her heart after their one and only kiss.
On Lilly’s first day of college, she meets Brand Cole. Intrigued by Brand, Lilly must decide whether or not she can give up her adolescent fantasy of being reunited with Will or allow Brand the opportunity to conquer her heart. Not only do Will and Brand both love Lilly, they share a dark secret neither wants Lilly to discover. Lilly thinks fate is after her, once again, when a new series of attempts on her life start to take place. But she soon learns someone of flesh and blood is trying to kill her this time.

Once upon a time, a little girl was born on a cold winter morning in the heart of Seoul, Korea. She was brought to America by her parents and raised in the Deep South where the words ma'am and y'all became an integrated part of her lexicon. She wrote her first novel at the age of eight and continued writing on and off during her teenage years. In college she studied biology and chemistry and finally combined the two by earning a master's degree in biochemistry. After that she moved to Yankee land where she lived for four years working in a laboratory at Cornell University, homesickness and snow aversion forced her back south where she lives in the land which spawned Jim Henson, Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey, John Grisham and B.B. King. After finding her Prince Charming, she gave birth to a wondrous baby girl and they all lived happily ever after.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 September 2016This was a great new concept to a PNR story and I really enjoyed it. Interesting narrative and it was well paced and intriguing enough to keep me interested and reading more. I also loved that I didn't guess the way the story was going and that the author kept me on the edge of my sofa. Looking forward to reading the next one.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 March 2018Lilly is a chaste young woman who has just stared college fairly close to her home town. She's sharing an apartment with her Bff Tara. They grew up in adjoining trailers with a 3rd bedtime, Will!! Lilly grew to have a huge crush on Will especially as he'd saved her more than once from some freaky accidents. When she was 16 yrs old they were on a trip & during a walk on a beach he kissed her,she was over the moon. News reports the next day announced a tornado had struck their home town & Lilly's home was destroyed!! After that incident Will pulled away from Lilly & Tara, Even Tara Gran who had helped raise them all. This continued even when she arrived at his College.
Soon after starting College Lilly meets a gorgeous guy, Brand, who quickly shows he's crazy about her. Will warns her off of him & Brand does the same about Will, it's all quite odd. Many strange things keep happening the biggest being meeting Malcom!!!
I found this book ok, Lilly was a bit of a 'goody two shoes' for my tastes!! I didn't think I'd be continuing with the series but with the appearance of Malcom the Story really took off!!!! Now I can't wait for tomorrow to start book 2. Lol

5.0 out of 5 stars addictive
I've read the comments and I have to totally disagree with the ones saying this book was plain. I finished this book within a week, and it was so hard to put down. As a mother, I love the friendship between Tara and Lilly. It honestly reminds me of my teen and her best friend. They have known each other since kindergarten and have the same friendship dynamic, very protective of one another. It was great to see that in this book. As far as the love triangle, it was definitely interesting. I cried a lot while reading because, as for me, I could feel the love between Brand and Lilly. It's literally my favorite part of this book. It's intoxicating, every girl wants to feel that. This is definitely a high-ranking book for me. For me, it's up there with the Crave series. This book is a total recommendation if you love fallen angels, the watchers, vampires, and romance. It's an easy read. It's fantastic. I want to read all of the S.J West books now.
