Forever: Forever Series, Book 1: A Paranormal Romance (The Forever Series) Kindle Edition

4.0 out of 5 stars 1,142 ratings

*Completed Series*
When your two thousand, seven hundred year old Vampire sire decides he wants you back, you go crawling, right?
Wrong.
I'm a thousand years old and I've played that game over and over again. I have my own life and a new love on the horizon.
But old habits die hard, even if death isn't easy for the likes of me.

Craving the human I've fallen for, along with the easy relationship of my darling charge of five hundred years, I suddenly find myself thrust into the middle of an ancient prophecy that seemingly revolves around me and my sire.

There is no getting away from him now and I realize that I don't want to. I want him back as much as he wants me. Can my new love accept these relationships and the life I have to offer him by becoming one of us, or will he run at the first meeting of the vicious man that made me? Either way, I've got more than enough on my plate to handle and learning more about the prophecy and what it involves, brings back old nightmares that have haunted me for centuries but new experiences which I didn't know that I longed for.

When the prophecy makes you the Chosen One and you want nothing to do with it.
When your love cannot be labelled or defined, and when your love lasts millennia - you know it's gonna be a rollercoaster of a ride, you know it's Forever.
This is my story. Expect trouble...it's my middle name.

I can only say that I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! I got it as a freebie and was hooked by the first chapter. The story was really well written and kept my eyes glued to the pages and once again it was another "lost weekend to housework!" I love the dynamics between Liv's and her men! As for her relationship with Constantine; it was good to see a strong female character. You go girl! I found the story telling shifting from past to present day well written and flowed seamlessly (as some authors do make it difficult to follow) When I got to the end of the book I had to rush to the website and download the next instalment. This is defiantly a glass of Chardonnay and chocolates book. I have read many Vampire books and I will put this book in my top 10 Great series Keep them coming Eve!

Been a while since I have read a paranormal romance and as this was free thought why not. I did enjoy the story, it had a new twist with the relationship dynamics. But with that being said I don't think I am going to read any more in the series as reading the overviews they didn't call out to me enough to buy them.

Very well written. Liked the fact that it was in this era although it starts off a 1000 years ago with Liv and Constantine having an affair. They are now billionaires living in this era. Things are explained on how the world of the vampire works and to be honest it kept my attention.
If you enjoy the modern vampire stories then I would strongly recommend

The thing I liked most about this book it that the lead was a female vampire calling the shots rather than most books that always have females drawn to the male vamps.
Adding that to the fact she is not a normal vampire and the bond with her sire makes the story intriguing and gripping.
    Cannot wait to read more.

I really enjoyed this book! It is a modern day Vampire story with an historic twist which makes for a good read. The story was interesting and it kept my attention to the end and definitely makes you want to read the next one to find out what happens. A good introduction to Liv's world with lots of room for a good story.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have read the series up to book 8 and so far I give them all 5 stars!
Reviewed in the United States on 14 November 2012
I have read the series up to book 8 (the latest at time of writing) so far and I give them all 5 stars~

The first book starts off with the usual background information required for the start of a series. It is very informative and you get a great feel for the characters and their motivations. While this is a first person POV from the female leads perspective, this does eventually grow into the other characters in book 8 to the end of the series (I believe). So, the information you get on the other characters, namely Devon and Constantine (as the two other vampires in the first book), is gained through the insightful flashbacks to Aefre\Elizabeth's past. These are crucial to the story because you find out how they became vampires, how they met, how they felt about each other and you see how these feelings have not only survived the five hundred and a thousand years, respectively, but intensified over the centuries. It is interesting to see how much the character of "Liv" has changed over the centuries, depending on which role she is in: charge or sire. My absolute favorite scene in the first book is the flashback to 17th century Versailles when CK and Devon met for the first time. You gain a lot reading this scene about the differences in vampire relationships.

Having read the series up to the latest book (can't wait for no. 9!), I truly believe that the character of Cole is "secondary". I don't know how else to describe him. He is there to cause the problems between Aefre and her sire and her charge, not to mention he is the unlucky one that causes the prophecy to kick into gear. The second book is where all the action takes off and what a ride. You gain more insight into the characters with the continuing flashbacks and you start to find out what is really going on.

I don't want to give too much away with regard to the story, but as it spans out over the series it gets deeper and darker and the characters get stronger and you definitely end up on a side. Although that side may change from book to book as Newton has a wild imagination and nothing is off limits. Exactly what a fantasy world should be about!

They are fantastic page turners with endings that make you have to get the next one to find out what happens next. I want it to go on and on and to see what other surprises are in store!

The 7.5 spin-off book, which takes you into one of the alternate worlds, while not crucial to the main series, is definitely worth reading as you can see the differences between the two "Aefre's" and what could possibly have happened to "our" Aefre had things gone differently for her. I wonder if the author will do one for Other Liv? Now that would be interesting!

I definitely recommend this series to lovers of Paranormal Erotica, who don't take their books too seriously and who like to escape into a book\series and the goings on in a different world.

4.0 out of 5 stars A long wild ride...
Reviewed in the United States on 9 September 2019
Dear gods, I love this book, but want to chase down the writer, while hurling curses at her. Let my girl be happy already! I’m on the fifth book of the series. It’s good, great in fact. The pacing is fast, even though it is a surprisingly long series (I had no idea what I was getting into until it was too late), but it helps me maintain interest and I do enjoy it.
The males are not carbon copies of each other, each of them has their own personality and quirks. The fmc not being a naive little girl is also a fantastic change. Flashbacks are great little tidbits that display depth of the character and how she has changed over the centuries.
My gripe is with her youngest charge, he becomes kind of annoying further into the story.
Overall, this series is a great one to get in to, just know that it is a long and bumpy as hell ride, but I feel it is so worth it.

I’ll just cut to the chase...

The book or series itself is listed as paranormal RH romance. The books don’t actually end on a cliffhanger but there is enticement enough to want to continue reading.

I like the fact that there is two books in one, I think had had they been seperate I wouldn’t have read the second book, having said that i am intrigued enough to carry on because I have this addiction to find out what happens next.

The characters are progressively developed as the story goes. The author uses flashbacks frequently through the book not only to give a greater understanding to the situation but also see how far the characters have come over the years.

I will say so far I’m not entirely convinced that this is a poly / RH relationship. Yes Liv has the attentions of her sire (CK), and charges (Devon & Cole) but all of them are jealous of something. I don’t feel that it’s a healthy relationship each are vying for Livs attention and although everyone knows that Liv is sleeping with each guy they are too selfish and jealous to actual accept each other in the equation. This also goes for Liv as she gets jealous and territorial over the many women Devon and CK take to bed as well (pot meet kettle ya know) I hope in subsequent book this starts to abate.
