Echo Six: Black Ops - Raid on Somalia Kindle Edition
Hostages are about to die, facing execution at the hands of the scourge of the seas - pirates. The objective is inside Somalia. Al Qaeda has taken piracy under its control to fund their worldwide quest for terror and death in the name of Islam. Talley’s unit is hastily transferred to a nuclear carrier patrolling the Arabian Sea. Echo Six is to go ashore, kill the pirates and rescue the hostages. Exfiltration will be via the advanced, super-silent Black Hawks of the secretive 160th Aviation Regiment. Yet plans can and often do go wrong. And this time is no exception.
Fighting with an ill-prepared yet expert squad of operatives, Talley has to control the bitter rivalry of his own men as they close with the enemy. An enemy who is well equipped and well prepared for the coming attack. Behind him, his own commanders are riven by political infighting and personal agendas that threaten to tear his unit apart almost before it has got off the ground. And the mission rapidly expands to take in new and larger, more dangerous objectives. Echo Six:Black Ops is an exciting and bloodthirsty story of the fierce, no-quarters fighting of a NATO SpecOps unit.

About the author

Eric Meyer is UK author of over thirty books. He is a graduate of University College, Cardiff, where he studied politics. He served part-time in the Commandos, the Royal Marines Reserve, reaching the rank of Colour Sergeant. During his service he took part in a number of sensitive missions. He also undertook instructor assignments with Special Forces. Later he pursued a full-time career as an independent coach and consultant, working with blue chip and other organisations. As a motivational coach, he drew heavily on his military experience to give his clients the tools required for tools for leadership andinitiative. Tools that are the mark of the small unit commander.
Working with a number of authors and experts, he has been co-writer on a number of self-improvement and motivational titles. As an author, his books are sold all over the world in paperback, hardback and ebook format. He writes mainly in the genres of military thriller, and detective thriller. Indeed, his first novel, Devil's Guard, The Real Story, is a fact based novel based on the French IndoChina war in what is now known as Vietnam. With a number of novels set during World War II on the Eastern Front, as well as novels of the Vietnam War, his military experience is reflected in a range of war fiction titles. The detective thrillers are based on an NYPD detective, Gabriel de Sade, a Special Forces veteran.
He has also presented a number of documentary films, mostly exploring historical subjects ranging from early Christian history to the mystical brilliance of Leonardo da Vinci.
Eric is married with three children, and still pursues his military and historical research in his available spare time. He is also a keen runner, and has achieved success in a number of road and off-road races, including fell-running, the challenging sport of competitive running across hill ranges in the countryside. Throughout his career he has combined his extensive and growing knowledge of military affairs with his zest for the latest motivational tools to produce novels that will both thrill and entertain the reader. Current projects include research into the causes and progress of the war in Afghanistan. Currently, Eric Meyer is a full-time novelist.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 July 2017A very well written book, with many twists of plot but unlike some authors the plot always came back on track.
Very explosive story lines that no one could call tame or mild. I will continue now onto Eric's next book knowing it will be excellent and difficult to put down.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 November 2012I have just completed reading this book which was throughly enjoyable and had me hooked from start to finish. Something I like in a book. The Military included the Seals and the Navy. Special forces always offer the opportunity for the unexpected. You find that here. The author also knows his Military and weapons too. This helps stimulate interest in the story.
All aspects of the missions are covered and really are believable real world stuff. Somalia is real time and you can certainly expect some or all of the story
to have happened without making the front pages anywhere.
A welcome inclusion is the sex. My books have to include that. Romance should appear it adds another dimension even though in the real world... I cant see that happening on the front line.
I look forward to more of this authors work. I will certainly buy again.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 October 2017This is a good read in that it keeps you interested right from the start to the end and then just finished. The last chapter is a bit disappointing but apart from this a good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SERIES!
Ok - first of all in my humble opinion, its an action book that's fast paced, exciting to read, and well written for what it is. There are several missed edits (not the authors fault) but all in all I have enjoyed the series. If you are reading this book based on facts and accurate accounts of blah blah balh please just buy a military history book. If you are into well scripted fast pace military books this series is worth it. Keep writing Eric and don't let the critics get you miffed. You're on to something and keep it up.

4.0 out of 5 stars BEST OF THE BEST OF THE WORLD'S FIGHTING MEN IN ONE SUPREME UNIT. NOW, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
Well some bright spark in NATO finally thinks to bring together the best of the best of the world's fighting men into one autonomous unit. Naturally full of egoes that know no bounds, could anything possibly go wrong here. Sure as hell can, and does, but at the same time takes you intimately into what these guys are assembled to do. A super ride of epic proportions that'll have you on the edge of your seat at times, and cursing the brass at others. Lead by a US Navy Seal, this really delineates just what well trained and intense fighting men are capable of, and you're in the front line, right beside them as it happens. (AN ASIDE: too bad the author doesn't know his officer ranks for the US Navy - as correctly pointed out by one of the other reviewers). Regardless, this is one super well done yarn of epic proportions that'll have you wanting more - and fortunately for you, there are now more titles. Fair winds and a following sea for all. ENJOY

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent read
This book is an excellent read with a good storyline and takes you into the heart of the action with a team you want to back.
Thanks Eric, at least you don't have to buy multiple books to read a great story, I will be buying others in the series

5.0 out of 5 stars A great read. Hard to put down once started
I really enjoyed the book. It's full of twists and turns. Full of action with a tiny bit of spice. The main characters were very believable.
