Dominion (The Dominion Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
A vampire stole that from her, leaving her instead with a life of pain and violence and a future torn between duty and desire. Eve is determined to follow in her mother’s footsteps as a vampire hunter working for the Council of Clairveaux, using her paranormal skills to find and kill vampires.
When she finds an ancient French manuscript in her dead mother’s files, she searches for a translator. While searching for a translator, she meets Michel de Cernay, former priest, and now vampire-hunting vampire out to stop Dominion – vampire rule over humans. The manuscript tells of the death and rebirth of identical twins Michel and Julien de Cernay as vampires in 1224 France.
Michel doesn’t want this life for Eve and tries to make her forget about the manuscript, vampires and him. When he fails, he has no choice to but induct her into the secret world of vampire hunting as his Adept – his partner in the fight to prevent Dominion.
Despite her reluctance, she’s drawn to him, uncovering hidden truths and dark desires.
She also meets his identical twin brother Julien, a former knight and now a warrior fighting to prevent Dominion. He tries to come between Michel and Eve, complicating their relationship.
While Eve searches for her mother’s killer, she struggles with her desire for the twins.
She's torn between beautiful brothers who play a dangerous game of power with an ancient enemy.
To find the truth about her mother’s death, her own birth and her fate, she’ll risk her innocence, her heart and her life.
Two brothers. One love.

Eve is looking into her mother's death and finds an ancient manuscript belonging to her mother which she needs translating as she's sure it has something to do with her mother's research. She makes an online query for a translator and goes to meet a Professor, but instead ends up meeting Michel, a beautiful eight-hundred year old vampire who has his own reasons for wanting the manuscript.
Eve, unaware at the beginning that she is paranormally gifted, is plunged into the world of vampires and vampire hunting and an intense relationship with Michel. I enjoyed every minute of the book. This is a grown up, sexy, scary, vampire story. I NEED to read the next one!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 August 2015I found this to be a very good read, Its a very intriguing story, that leads the reader into a some what intense, intriguing and mystifying scene. Filled with seduction, danger and of course vampires. I have just purchased the other three books in this series. My only gripe is that the sex scenes in the book, in comparison to the rest of the story seems a bit sloppy. Other than that, a really good read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 November 2013I have actually read the first 3 books. The marking is possibly a bit harsh but can't give half stars and didn't enjoy enough to give it 4. The stories are well written and there are some really interesting ideas. However, I am not sure about the heroine, who is your standard has special talents, but was abused & self-harms. I prefer them with more backbone.
I also really don't like Micheal. When I think of him it is as a grimy, creepy, priest, who does depraved things, then prays for atonement. Yuck! It gets worst as the books progress. I found the whole you are so beneath me that we could never be equals and you have to become my slave otherwise the world is going to end a bit sickening.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2013My new kindle handed me the opportunity to explore many new genres without leaving the comfort of my house and part of that process led me to the Dominion Series by S.E. Lund. I downloaded this book with a number of other Paranormal Romances that were either free or sub £1.99 as I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain so I had no particular expectations. Sure I enjoyed the PNR genre but how many ways were there to make biting someones' neck and drinking their blood interesting? From the first though this book was about so much more; vampires, vampire hunters, twins, medieval history, academia, religion, immortals, crime, relationships, sex, D/s sex, and of course love; requited and unrequited, complicated, believable love.
I was hooked! The writing is articulate, intelligent and sexy, the plot and characters engaging and the paranormal aspect was just the icing on the cake for me. It was a grownup fantasy without the cliches and I devoured it. I've since downloaded the other books in the series (currently books 2 and 3, 4 to be published later this year) and they don't disappoint either, the plot thickens, I fell in love with the twins even more and Eve grows as you would expect a person would throughout the storytelling. This is particularly satisfying as in other books I've read that are similar the characters do not develop over time in-spite of the things that happen to them but remain as if they were carved rather than drawn.
This is no Twilight or Fifty Shades of Grey knockoff but it is a story of its time, however if you enjoyed of those books or even aspects of them (as so many have) you will enjoy Dominion. So, download this book, grab a glass of wine, turn off Facebook and Twitter and immerse yourself in the twins' world, then enjoy the story line and characters living with you whilst you go about your ordinary life until you can read it again.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 May 2015This is a good book to read loved the story kept me wanting to no more had to keep reading I would recommend this book to people who like romantic stories who like books on vampires got book two right away .
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 July 2016I realise it is the first book in a series so has to set a lot of the scene, but whilst I did enjoy it I also found myself losing patience with Eve - she was a bit whiny and confused. For a woman who is allegedly gifted she comes across as more than a little dense at times.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 October 2016Love the main characters in this story. The religious angle adds a different perspective and shows that men really are thinking with a certain part of their anatomy! The angst that religion creates and the trust that is not easily given , the unknown and the worry created makes this a taught provoking tale that I think will probably just intensify through the next book. Love it!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 June 2016I usually like books written by this author but I'm not sure what to think of this series. I only managed to read the first book and half of book two but then had to stop as I found myself skipping pages as my disinterest in the main characters grew. The female lead is annoying, no backbone, crying all the time, is in danger, being hunted but always wandering off by herself, wants to submit but can't as she's a modern woman? I think I should stop there as I can go on and on. I can't say that I felt anything for the male leads either, a creepy priest and an over the top twin brother. I'm not sure if its the plot or the writing style that is not working for me but maybe I will revisit this series in the future, who knows.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic read! Full of mysteries & unanswered questions to solve!
I read this book as part of a group read, otherwise, it probably wouldn't have caught my eye. I say this, not because it is not eye catching worthy (even without having read the book, the cover itself rather draws you in... it makes you want to find out what's inside) but because the book has been released for several months & I've never noticed it before. I am saddened by this because I've discovered that I've really been missing out. This book was a mixture of mystery, discovery, suspicion, & romance, with an extremely hot, complicated hero & a foolishly brave heroine. What I really enjoyed about this book (besides the wonderfully written, hot & steamy sex scenes), is the author's ability to create mysteries, provide hints to make you think you're on the right track to solving them. Then, when you think you have it all figured out, BAM! something else is revealed & your entire line of thinking is shifted off balance. Then, your left with a whole lot of doubt as to whether or not you even had a clue to begin with. The only other series that I can think of to compare what I experienced in this novel to is the Fever series. I will also say that there were some things in Dominion that just didn't sit right with me because they did NOT make a lot of sense, which would have caused me to give a lower rating. However, I believe that those things will be settled after I read the next books in the series. I also do not like love triangles or cliffhangers - also reasons for a lower rating - but the book was just too good for me to let those things bother me. A must read!(less)

5.0 out of 5 stars Sizzling start to a promising series!
Highly recommend this one!
Dominion is Book 1 of the Dominion series, which will eventually consist of 5 books. This is the story of twin 800 year old vampires, the young woman who captures their hearts and a complex battle for world domination between humans and vampires and other vampires (you'll see...and I said it's complex!). To begin, I should state clearly that this book should not be read in isolation from the rest of the series. So far, the author has released books 1 to 3, with #4 slated for release later this year. I have read the first 3, and IMO they get better and better with each one. I'll confine my review here to the first.
Eve Hayden is a young grad student with a tragic past. Her mother was killed by a vampire when she was 11 years old and she's been raised by a foster family since, her father having gone mad and been hospitalized. At the beginning of the book she has just come into possession of her mother's files from the university. She knows that her mother was involved in some sort of research with the ultimate goal of "curing" vampires. Eve's greatest ambition is to continue her mother's work and somehow contribute to the eradication of the vampire species. She has come across a transcript written by a vampire and is trying to have it translated from old French. It's at this point she meets Michel, the first of the vampire twins. He makes an attempt to take the transcript and wipe her memories so that she no longer wants to carry on her mother's work, but he is unsuccessful as Eve is immune to his efforts. Herein begins Eve's involvement with the vampire twins and the organization that they work for in their fight to control the vampire race. Eve's relationship with Michel and Julien begins here as well...and it's a wild ride! As she learns their tragic history she finds herself drawn further and further into their world.
I love how the author has created this unique take on the vampire world. Michel and Julien are both tragic and immensely appealing characters. Eve is a young woman struggling to find her place in their world, discovering abilities that she was never aware of. As she finds herself attracted to Michel, she struggles with feelings for Julien as well. With the first person POV the author lets us get inside Eve's head...and I felt her struggle as she tried to make sense of what her life was becoming.
I highly recommend this very intriguing and at times very sensual novel. S.E. Lund has a way with sizzling scenes that make you want more! Having read the next 2 installments I can promise that there's more of that to come!

4.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!!
It kept my attention right out of the first charter and I love the whitty banter. I also love all the new info constantly coming to light. The ideas behind these novels is what I find most intriguing about the series as a whole. I can not wait to see where she goes with the many possible spins that can be used. I got a forbidding feeling at the end that I feel is leading to one such twist. Although I am seriously hoping I'm wrong.
But these are a must read, they defiantly enthralled me quickly! I'll b getting the full set tomorrow!!
The only reason I took a star out was the female lead. I think a sting female lead is essential in these types of book, however it is lacking here. She is headstrong but not usually furring times where it would really matter to getting the things she needs to, out , understood, and respected. And she is to wushu washy on her convictions. With what her goal is and then how she bends that but even once bent she can't force herself to commit to that in the form of obeying someone and giving them her trust. Just personally think it's a world she's known sine she was 10, maybe not all but the basis for it. Knowing it should have made her more prepared for all of it and more prepared to have to adapt to new situations. I guess I'm just saying an over all stinger girl ready to do WHATEVER necessary n bend when she must to meet her goals. Not butt heads so much n cry over everything. Seems more like teen hormones.
Please don't let that rant deter you. I have read twice already and even purchasing it again. Just went off to describe why I removed 1 star (so obviously not detrimental to the story if it one move one star!!
Anyway
HAPPY READING
