About the author

Jennifer Malone Wright is best known for her short story series, The Vampire Hunter's Daughter. Other works include the follow up to The Vampire Hunter's Daughter series called The Arcadia Falls Chronicles, The Graveyard Guardians series, and her vampire novel called Savior. Jennifer also co-authors a series called Once Upon A Zombie Apocalypse as well the Beary Tales series.
She resides in the beautiful mountains of northern Idaho with her husband and five children where she practices preparing for the zombie apocalypse. Just kidding!
But seriously, between the craziness of taking care of her children, Jennifer has little time left for herself. The time she does have left, usually leading far into the night, is spent working on her beloved fiction or chatting with her equally crazy friends.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 June 2018I was curious to check out another series of the author of the Graveyard Guardians.
Found the storyline rather cumbersome. Other roads could have been taken that would hold in my point of view more potential. The main characters are well drawn, although the heroine sometimes feels like an adult talking through the 14-16yo. The world developed is consistent. What I do not like is the black and white the two opposing parties are cast with. Rarely ever anything is only good or only bad. And laying the foundation for a series the focuses on extinction a whole race, is something that I do not feel further interested in as it simply is not the way forward.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 October 2017I'm not a kid or young man anymore so I wasn't sure that I'd really get much from this book, what I surprise I had. The storyline is good, the characters are good but what pleased me more than anything was the writing itself

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 August 2012What a great book. My teenage daughter loved this book and I read it after her. It appeals to both generations and although there is some romance in it, parents have no need to worry about the sexual content for their kids. A well written book that left me searching for the next one. I would recommend this for teenagers who like Vampire books or supernatural. Another great kindle freebie from Amazon!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 December 2012This series is an excellent teen read.....A very short read...had finished it in a few hours A good story line though the characters develop as it goes along. But didnt find a lot to get your teeth into

5.0 out of 5 stars ... audio version (in my car) and it was really good, clear and really able to image the characters
I listened to the audio version (in my car) and it was really good, clear and really able to image the characters. The only thing is that it say pets 1-6 I thought this was a six book series - but it's just 1-6 chapters. Misleading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining books
Very fun books, they are not that long and really get you into the story.
The complexity of the books is not very high I think they are definitly written for the young adult and teens.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my kind of book
As the daughter of a vampire slaughter and a vampire see sees her mother killed before her eyes. She them starts to live with her grandfather and een young man, also living there. She starts training to kill vampires, succeeds, but in the end her father black mailed her to go live with him. After a while she realizes she is meant to be her vampire fathers ticket to walk the daylight. On her birthday she has to die.
Though a nice plot, this book is just not for me. A bit to slow and not enough fun.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Vampire Hunter's Daughter had me at the title
I'm glad I happened to see this on a blog tour recently; it's a very enjoyable read. The cover, blurb and catchy title drew me in. It has one of the best opening scenes I've read in a long time and is among my favourite YA books of the year.
Chloe Kallistrate gets the shock of her life when her mother wakes her up in the middle of the night and urges her to hide in the closet. Invaders breach their home, and Chloe's life is turned upside down. She's part of a long line of vampire hunters, and it's time to fulfil her duty. At 14 years of age, she enters a community of vampire hunters, who have been training and living together since childhood. Chloe is expected to get with the programme quickly and make up for all the years she should have been training. She lives with her grandfather, Luke, and Drew, an eighteen year old hunter, who shows little sympathy for Chloe. But of course, Drew really cares. He just wants her to be strong, knowing what she will have to face.
There is plenty of action in these novellas. We get to spend a little over a year with Chloe, watching her grow into an ass kicking hunter and answer the call of her blood. She jogs, trains, learns to use weapons and prepares for the day she will have to meet the vampire responsible for her mother's demise. It's fun watching Chloe develop her skills and grow into a confident young woman. She also attracts the attention of Drew, who would probably rather shoot his own foot off than tell Chloe how he feels about her. The hot guy at school, Gavin, also takes a shine to her. I tend to prefer books where the romantic element isn't central to the plot, so The Vampire Hunter's Daughter is right up my alley. This is Chloe's coming-of-age story, and the romantic elements are secondary.
This has nothing to do with the story, but when I read that vampires had their own dental office called Deadly Smiles, I laughed. You can pick this up as 6 separate short stories/novellas, or buy the complete collection like I did. Exciting and lots of fun. I couldn't put it down.

I chose to give this book a give s star as it kept my interest until the end. The storyline was not the same as other books of this type and for that I was surprised. It was good enough to want to read more.
