- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 November 2023Another brilliant book from the super talented Adele Parks. I couldn’t put it down and was racing ahead but then didn’t want it to end. Lots of twists and turns about the mess we can find our lives in when everything seems perfect.

I've stopped reading this book because of it's inconsistency. Right near the start Laura is said to be born and bred in Australia, then a few pages on it says Laura was born and bred in Scotland. If the author can't get that right at the beginning, I can't be bothered. I've gone over that part at least half a dozen times to make sure it's not my error and it isn't. It just isn't going to make the story feasible.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 May 2014I've read a few of Adele Parks books and really enjoyed them. She has an easy -to -read style and creates characters that the reader identifies with.
I realised about half way through this book that I wouldn't be able to get the ending I hoped for, but in actual fact the ending was worse than I anticipated.
I was left wishing that Laura had made a different decision.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 September 2020I’ve loved Adele’s work from the first book I read. But recently, about a year ago, I noticed that her books’ had taken a new sleazy designs. I guess it was for copyright purpose, but the covers looked ‘cheap’.
I downloaded a few books, nonetheless, believing that I’ll give her the benefit of my doubt. As I read this one, it brought back so many good vibes about her writing and the stories.
This one is no exception. It was enjoyable. The story, although extraordinary, was well researched and executed. I thoroughly enjoyed the jokes and the banters. As each chapter was the thought of each of the four main characters, I kinda get what they think, really from their minds. So, they were lonesome and heartwarming, even heart wrenching.
No regrets getting her books, even if the book cover does not reflect the real gem. But I do hope she works on some new designs, with the woods and flowers, perhaps?

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2015I do love Adele Parks books. I did enjoy this book, the style it's written in gives you everyone's views. I thought from the initial few pages that Amelie would be more of a character but she wasn't - shame.
I was just waiting and waiting for the secret to be out... it was pretty late in the book then the rest seemed rushed to end the book.
I did enjoy the book and will continue to read more of her books.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2005I have never read one of Adele Parks books before so to find I was hooked from the 1st page was a total surprise. I loved the fact that you got the story from each of the 4 main characters perspectives and that even right up to the end I was never totally sure how things would end up. Bella is a great main character who I think you couldn't help but feel sorry for. At the end of the day most of us at some point have experienced one little white lie esculate until it is unstoppable!!! Will be buying the rest of Adele's books immediately. Fantastic read
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 May 2013Enjoyable, light hearted and fun to read; a little different with twists to the main story with an ending that was a little different to what I predicted.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away by this book
I originally decided to read this book because my mother couldn't put it down, but as soon as I read the first chapter I knew that I too would become a slave to its magnificence. Calling this book a masterpiece would be an understatement, for there are too many wonderful ways to describe how fantastic it truly is. Adele clearly has a talent for creating vibrant characters with intense relationships and smart dialogues. Not only is this story beautifully written and well thought out, it is life affirming and reminds you that there is always hope when love is involved. You will absolutely regret it if you don't read this book. Well done Adele Parks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adele Parks cannot write enough books to satisfy my hunger for them!
A beautiful, if sometimes painful, introspective look at "humanity" ... And what actually "makes us human". I simply loved it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Too long
I almost gave up on this book after the first few chapters cause nothing happened and the characters weren't particularly interesting. It picked up a bit once we started getting the men's point of view but shortly after that it again started to drag. I finished it but I must admit I skimmed a lot of it. The premise was interesting (improbable, but that was okay - I'm good at suspending disbelief) and the writing was good but somehow it didn't gel: the main heroine is too indecisive for too long and it made me lose sympathy for her and start to not care whether she got her HEA or not. I'm giving this book 3 stars because of the good writing but I can't really recommend it.
