At last, you've found me. Be sure to sign up for my email newsletter at DouglasClegg.com and "Follow" me here on Amazon, as well. Thank you.
I write mostly psychological suspense and supernatural tales. My whole life, I've been drawn to gothics, horror, supernatural, suspense, fantasy and pretty much anything that swept me off my feet, imagination-wise. Currently I'm working on screenplays, poetry, unfinished novels and stories.
I live in New England in a place surrounded by sea, woods, and stone walls, been with my husband for more than 30 years, and generally am servant to a dog, cat, and many fish plus a few frogs in the backyard pond.
But additionally, I serve the story. I hope you enjoy what you find within my fiction.
Thank you for checking out my novels and stories.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 November 2018I liked the idea and it was a quick read, also it quite dragged me in, overall it was a pleasurable experience to read this book
However, it lacked explanations, I couldn't help but feel that things were rushed through, forgotten by the author - there could have been more to the main character's past with a perpetrator, some characters had kind of no real reason to be so much in a story (wife, kids). Too general as for my liking.... id like to see it improved with deeper psychiatric insight... :)
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2021This book was OK, very predictable but non the less a bit of a page turner.
Easy read, easy plot.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 December 2017This book was unbelievable! I genuinely couldn't put it down. It is so well written and yet so disturbing, I felt like I needed to finish it so I could move on from it, as it was constantly on my mind. I mainly read psychological thrillers so it becomes harder to find books that actually 'psychologically thrill' but this one definitely does! The usual twists and turns you'd hope for in a book like this, all wrapped up in an asylum for the criminally insane and heart in your mouth moments. I genuinely felt like I knew the characters, they were so well written. The insight into the workings of the mind that most would just label as 'crazy' make you really think about what could be behind someone's behaviour. What makes a monster? I genuinely loved this book and for the first time in years have a new favourite author! You will not regret reading this.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2018A rather frightening story with some very gruesome and detailed scenes of mutilation and maiming. Unfortunately some parts of the story seemed a bit disjointed but overall well worth reading. I must admit to have become slightly confused as to the actual possible connection between London and Jack the Ripper and some strange nutter in America!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 October 2020It took a chapter to get into this book. However, I found that I was gripped by it and was looking forward to the next chapter (some of which are very short). The idea was good; the story was well told and no massive jumps to get to where it needed to be although close to a "what!?" moment a few times.
I agree the end seemed a little rushed and maybe some more explanation of the why. But I am sure that just helps the mystery.
Overall a very good read and I will certainly go and read some of the authors other works.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 March 2018I couldn't put this book down. This is one of the best books I have read in a while and I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this well written story. Loved the characters and just had to purchase the next book straight away. I will definitely be reading the full series.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 May 2022The story started off promising enough but lapsed Into totally unbelievable scenarios and actions from both parties involved in the storyline.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nette Lektüre für den Urlaub
Spannend und blutig geschrieben, allerdings ist das Ende etwas zu einfach. Kein Vergleich mit Hannibal Lektor, der vielschichtiger geschrieben ist.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping and Insightful
This is the first book from this author that I have read. It was masterfully composed with just enough to lead you to see where it was going while holding back enough to make the twists and turns of the storyline a surprise. The characterization was brilliant and believable as was the insight into the mind of the criminally insane. A great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read
When I started reading this book, I was so excited because it's a REAL book! It's edited well and is an excellent story!
It's disgusting, horrifying, thrilling, suspenseful and everything you want in a book!
Everything written down is gripping and interesting, it's so hard to pull yourself away to eat or tend to other things in your life!
When I got to 75% of the way I noticed some typos. Nothing drastic, but it meant that the book wasn't perfect anymore.
But really, I don't mind too much because I absolutely LOVED this book!
My new favourite author is CLEGG!
