THERE’S ROOM AT THE INN, BUT YOU MIGHT NOT GET OUT…
Odd Thomas and Annamaria need a break from the road. Nestled on a lonely stretch along the Pacific Coast, the warm lights of Harmony Corner welcome them in. The quaint roadside outpost offers everything a weary traveller desires – a cosy diner, a handy service station, a cluster of motel rooms … and the Harmony family homestead presiding over it all.
But Odd has a bad feeling about this place. There’s more to the secluded haven than meets the eye – and between life and death there is something more frightening than either. Odd has faced evil many times and he will face it again before the night is over…

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 August 2012Having read all three parts of Odd Interlude and Odd Apocalypse I have to say that I wish Dean had made Odd Interlude 1 2 and 3 into one full length novel. I found the plot original and Odd is more like the Odd Thomas you get to know in the earlier books, there is a major departure in character when you read Odd Apocalypse which is the sequel to Odd Interlude. The combination of alien elements and a psychic hold over the residents of the settlement was very original and kept me hooked throughout the three installments.
Bearing in mind how greedy HarperCollins have been in demanding 10 quid for the sequel Odd Apocalyse I found that although Odd Interlude was short it was a really gripping read and well worth paying just under 3 quid for the combined book. Its a real shame that this book is not available in paper and audio formats for those Odd Thomas fans who are visually impaired and cannot use a Kindle as I feel they miss out by not reading this excellent short trilogy. As a Kindle user I loved receiving the book as a serial in three parts as a warm up act prior to the release of Odd Apocalypse, even though it was of course a cynical marketing tactic!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 January 2013I really enjoy the Odd books, glad I bought this one, although I thought it was all one book not split into three
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 February 2013Having read all of the Odd Thomas series, I found the Odd Interludes 1,2, and 3 as entertaining as the first novels, all an unusual format, starting what you think in the first few lines as a slow start but suddenly launched into a gripping page turner that holds your attention and also amuses you (I have chuckled to myself numerous times whilst reading) as you experience the strange life of Odd. I did find the initial few novels more 'real' but then I have found that I enjoyed the oddity (pardon the pun) of the interludes storyline. I am looking forward to finally discovering if Odd gets his hearts desire and is reunited with Stormy eventually as he so well deserves...Please do not disappoint all the Odd admirers Mr Koontz! We all love him!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 October 2014Parts 1 thru' 3 were the fastest books I have ever read! I couldn't put them down & just had to get all 3 parts so as to know how it all ended! After reading Part 1 on Holiday I was at first disappointed to be left hanging, then my Kindle & some local WiFi (in France :-) came to the rescue & when I saw there was a Part 3 as well as a Part 2 I went for the whole set! Since the price steadily increased as I got "reeled in" perhaps I should have bought it as a single book (if available?) All in all a great read, fast paced & one of those "couldn't put it down" stories.....
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2012Unfortunately I felt a bit let down by this third part of Odd Interlude. To be honest, I think this was exacerbated by the tension building and excitement of the three part make-them-wait-for-it format. A great idea in theory but perhaps it heightened my expectations too much and led to inevitable disappointment with the story. I think it would have worked better as a standalone novella.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 March 2013He never fails to spellbind me with his magical prose and flawed characters. The story flows easily and the pages contain so much truth and insight I am convinced he must be an enlightened being. Odd Thomas is my favourite character by far and the best books he has written. I defy you to read these novellas without tears of joy and sadness. A gift from the best writer I've come across.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 January 2013As with other books by the same author the writing style makes the story easy to picture and keeps you gripped within the plot.
I like Steven King and I like Dean Koontz, if you like tales of the supernatural its well worth giving this a try.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 July 2012As always Odd is a great character as were the other characters in the story and the plot was unusual and very readable, I'd just like a bit more and wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a book that wasn't over in one sitting. He is an excellent writer and could have made the story longer without making it slow going.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent entertainment
I've just finished this three part sequel and although the prose was not as fluid as most of Koont's work, the plot was fantastic. A very enjoyable read
Thanks,
Eric

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my favorite character, Odd Thomas rocks!!!!!
I have yet to read a book that Dean Koontz has wrote that I didn't love......with that said I've even researched him enough (years and years and years ago lol) to find out what other pen names he used when writing and read those books too. While his earlier work is very different from the books he's written under his own name they were still excellent reads!! I even have both of his books he wrote for children, and while one I think is a little much for a younger child the one about Santa's evil twin is over the top funny, all of my grands love the story and really love finding the hidden snowmen in each illustration!!! I never post story line "spoilers", but I can say that if you love books about strange happenings with a sometimes supernatural or otherworld feel you'll love his books one and all!!! My absolute favorites are his Odd Thomas series, the ones he's just written lately about the boy, and later the man, that no one can tolerate looking at including his own mother, and my favorite stand alone story is probably Lightening it's about a time traveler and is reminiscent of the movie The Time Travelers Wife.....bottom line if you like stories on the "strange" side of things he is the ultimate story teller and my absolute favorite author!!!!!!!!
I will be posting reviews of his other books and since as mentioned above that I don't post spoilers I will be copying and pasting this for the reviews of those books too!!! All of the ones reviewed here are Kindle books and I should mention that the ONLY reason I even bought a Kindle to begin with was because he put out a book that was only available as a digital download!!! Sooooo Dean Koontz is responsible for me purchasing a Kindle all of his previous books I own in hard cover his books fill a bookcase in one room and parts of bookcases in other rooms as well!! Try him I guarantee you'll love him!!

3.0 out of 5 stars At least there are many ways of dealing with the devil ...
And yet another Odd Thomas novel, placed between ODD HOURS and ODD APOCALYPSE and in fact my first eBook, because my bookshelves are going to break down by very heavy book overload. So ... I decided to buy a kindle.
Odd is on the move with Anamaria, his new friend. They take a short stop at a place called Harmony Corner to rest. It still starts, as Odd watches TV in his cottage. A strange noise out of the TV wants him to fall asleep and he has the feeling that something very strange wants to lurk his mind. But Odd could stand the noise and got out to fresh air. But things wont get better than. He meets a strange mechanic with a scar on his face and later on his psychic magnetism let him walk around the area. He feels the presence of bad evil and soon he knows, a job has to be done here. His enemy this time is the mysterious Puppetmaster. But also there is something un-human deep under the surface of the earth ...
ODD INTERLUDE is a three-part-story, full of humor, suspense, nice and creepy people. An Odd Thomas story as it should be. For my opinion totally full worth 3 stars (maybe a little more). Why only 3 stars? Hm, the stuff is not really new, was written or seen in movies before. But what Dean Koontz made out of it is okay.
Odd Thomas fans have to read it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Preço muito caro
Não sei porque os e-books em inglês estão mais caros. Muitas vezes mais caros que as versões em português. ok

3.0 out of 5 stars Mystery concludes
Odd still is the character you expect him to be. Still I am left wondering why Anna Maria is there and what her purpose is. Through out she does not seem to warrant the chapters she is included in. Is her fate going to be that of Stormy?
