- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 March 2013As with the last book, I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can only hope there are many more to come. The author is very talented and writes magnificently. I would recommend this to anyone.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 August 2012This is the 2nd book of the Chronicles of Terah, and while I thought book #1 was good, I also felt it lacked some drama and pace. Well, they are all here now. The Dragon's Flame is a big improvement in pretty much every aspect: we see Kevin really act as Master Sorcerer, and we are introduced to more of the magical denizens of Terah, with some of them being pretty important throughout the story. We also get a good taste of the people who live there, and that's refreshing, if a bit idealistic at times. It helps to make Terah more real, and to immerse ourselves in it some more.
Book #1 felt like there was a lot of preparation for things then eventually never happened, but in this book the delivery is almost as good as the setup. Thankfully, we are spared some of the endless descriptions and get more humour, drama, action and even some detective/spy story elements here and there. Having said this, The Dragon's Flame could still benefit from some good editing, especially as there is a lot of time spent by characters updating each other on what they know or did, and an awful lot of travelling around, carrying people and things, and so on. The focus is still not quite as narrow at is should be, and the author seems to have a tendency to get sidetracked trying to make sure we get to see absolutely everything, but it's much less evident than in book #1.
Something that bothered me slightly was how half the characters fell in love af first sight with someone who was just happening to fall in love with them at exactly the same time. I like a good romance, but most times it's not quite as straightforward as that. I was also sorry to see most of the Tellurians hardly appear throughout. Kevin, Chris and Theresa have their moments to shine, but the others, Steve especially, didn't really feature much at all. Here is hope we will see more of them in future installments.
Despite this minor complaints, The Dragon's Flame is a solid, entertaining book. I'd definitely recommend it
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 November 2011This is the sequel to The Master's Chair (The Chronicles of Terah) [Kindle Edition]
, and carries on from where that ended.
Just as enjoyable ,better written,a really enjoyable fantasy.Definitely will buy her next book!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 May 2012I loved this book and the relationship between the characters. I re-read this book all the time as I enjoyed it so much and cant wait for the next book to come out!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 February 2012Love the story line, the characters and world the author has created. Have enjoyed reading both books, however I don't need to know the details of every meal and cake being eaten. Can't we just take it as read that Chris has a sweet tooth? The story is also in danger of being the diary of a delivery man, again too much detail of every trip Kevin takes or find some other way for the characters to get around. If the story is to continue I hope the author concentrates on developing the plot and characters - we seemed to have sidelined a couple of the original Tellorians. I look forward to the next chapter but please get someone to read and edit before publishing. The author has a great style, but needs to tighten up and cut out unnecessary domestic detail.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 June 2013Loved both books!!!! Really exciting couldn't put it down. Had more action than the first book but both worth every penny. Look forward to the next one.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 October 2013Really good easy read didn't want it to end would have given 5* but there must be more to come the end of the book left an open door
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 May 2016A very good read, I have read book 1 and 2 ,one after the other has it has prompted me to forego my decision in not buying e books over £1.50 on this occasion.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Read
I much prefer spending my free time reading, so I don't write reviews. However, this book is good enough, and the last review bad enough, that I felt I had to write one this time.
I am almost finished reading this book and I am looking forward to the next one. I sure hope there is going to be a next one! The characters are likable and the story line is good. It may not keep you on the edge of your seat every minute, which some people seem to feel is necessary, but really, how many books do? It has, however, kept me up late at night reading, wanting to find out what is going to happen next.
I have read plenty of professionally published books that aren't nearly this good.

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as the first book!
The book lived up to the first as the adventure continues. I did notice several grammatical errors. Words like thing, instead of think! However, it was small enough not to dim my view of this work. The story line is sound and keeps me glued to this series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Follow-Up
"The Dragon's Flame" (Kindle edition) is the second book in the Terah series. It is as well-written and entertaining as the first book, and is recommended to anyone who likes alternate-world fantasy books with adventures, magical elements and magical beings. The story picks up from where the first book ended and the main characters continue to adjust to their new circumstances and grow into their new responsibilities. As in the first book, there is a definite conclusion to this plot, but the story is not finished. The reader is left wanting to see what happens next with the characters and their adjustment to Terah. My only complaint is that, as yet, there is no third book and the author did such a good job with the first two books that I'm having trouble waiting for the next one.
