For the millions addicted to Strictly Come Dancing - a debut tapping into the world's latest craze.

When three couples join a new ballroom class, they're all looking for some magic in their lives.

Lauren and Chris are getting married, and Lauren's dreaming of a fairytale wedding with a first dance to make Cinderella proud. Not wanting to be shown up on the dancefloor, her parents Bridget and Frank have come along too. They normally never put a foot wrong, but Bridget's got a secret that could trip them up unexpectedly. Meanwhile Katie and Ross are looking for a quick-fix solution to their failing marriage even though neither is quite sure who's leading who anymore.

As friendships form over the foxtrot, the rumba rocks relationships, and the tango leads to true love, all the students in the Ballroom Class are about to face the music and dance...

I liked most of the characters in the book and the setting takes you to a different world if you don't do ballroom dancing, but you can certainly picture it because of the popular programmes around.

I have read all Lucy Dillons books and have enjoyed them all - this is no exception. As usual the characterisation is superb you get to know all the characters, their personalities, foibles and personal issues. This book is slightly different to her other books in its content and when I ordered it I was not sure it was one for me but the fact it was written by Lucy Dillon decided me to read it and I am so pleased I did. You do not have to be a ballroom dancing fan to enjoy the story as without giving the story away it is about several couples all of whom have various reasons for attending the class, the story explores their relationships and also the teacher is not without her weaknesses - a great story well written . However I did miss the lack of a dog which is normally a part of Lucy's stories !!

I've read a few of Lucy Dillon books and rely loved them, but I was a little disappointed with this. The ending was lovely, but I found two of the main characters unlikable.
I don't know if I was suppose to warm to them but Katie was just whiny and miserable. And Lauren came across as selfish, which was a shame because I usually love all her characters, even the not so nice ones.

I do a lot of reading and came across Lucy Dillon, this is the second book I have read of hers and I only chose it for the title and it didn't let me down. Loved the story and the characters, really loved the way it was written.
  • Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 September 2015
I like Lucy Dillon's books but this wasn't one of her best. The later books gets better. This one is too long and gets tedious. I also disliked the coincidences. So why did I give it four stars? Because it's really a compelling read! Dillon knows how to get you into her characters so you feel they are real people. But if you haven't read any Dillon yet, don't start here. I give five start to her later books.

This is literary entertainment at a very high level.
The story follows the interaction of several characters and weaves in and out of their lives in an elegant and perceptive manner.
After reading this book, if you are not even a tiny bit tempted to take up some form of dancing, it would be highly surprising.
Sit back and let yourself be swept off your feet...
