- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2005If you have never read any of Mandisues novels before then do yourself a favour and try them. They are gritty, witty and very readable. This is all about an orphan girl who inherits a house back in her native Manchester and decides (against her better judgement) to go back there to live, enter Joel, great looking but dark and sinister. Will Maria get caught up in his trail of distruction.......of course she will!!! Read on. Highly recommended
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 3 October 2017Starts very slowly but stay with it. What you think or are led to what will happen I guarantee youll be wrong. It has you caught up in the most unlikely way and it will have you intrigued. Good read

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2024Mandasue Heller never disappoints. Absolutely love her style of writing and another unputdownable book sadly finished but thankfully I’ve still a few of her books to read. What an author!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 March 2017Good book but ending weak would have liked a better final chapter relating to Adam and his departure if he got caught or not.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 February 2020A rags to riches story with a difference. Our sweet heroin so in love is blinded by her charming boyfriend. Her life is turned upside down as the tale progresses. The ending is completely unexpected. I was kept on the edge of my seat throughout. A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Charmer by Mandasue Heller
Mandasue Heller seems to always write novels that are compelling, and very hard to put down. This book is no exception.
I love her style of writing, a no nonsense way, not at all flowery or unrealistic. There is only one thing I will say I hope there is a sequel to this book........please.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow to start but got much better
I really enjoyed this book- I have read quite a few of Mandasue's books, and was happy that this one didn't disappoint.
It did start off a little slowly, I thought, but the pace picked up quickly and I read the whole thing in a day.
I try not to say too much about the storyline, as I don't want to spoil it for others, but I can say that there was plenty of action, a bit of violence and a bit of sex, so all in all a good, interesting read.
I wished there had been a bit more gruesome details towards the end, when the villains got what they deserved, but other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.
Highly recommend this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dont start this book as the end will leave you wanting.
Story line was excellent up to the last 10 % - then it just became riddiculous and the ending fell away presumably as the Author will write a follow up. Very dissapointed
