Sarah K. L. Wilson is a USA Today Bestselling author who has written almost one hundred fantasy novels and novellas.

Sarah worries frequently that she won't be an able to write all the books she wants to in this lifetime -- as she has far too many ideas -- and is convinced she will have a long list to attend to in the next life.

With over 800,000 books sold or read in the Kindle Unlimited program, Sarah has her many fans to thank for her success and she remains their grateful servant and most enthusiastic purveyor of young adult, romantic and epic fantasy.

Sarah writes fantasy stories featuring practical heroines in the most impractical circumstances. She loves writing because it is the only way to make a living and give back to the world when your primary skill is an overactive imagination and a tendency toward violent daydreams.

Sarah can be found in the outdoors of Northern Ontario with her young boys and beloved husband, reading a book, or fending off her husband's pet turkeys with a straw broom.

You can find Sarah's books in paperback, hardcover, ebook and audiobook and they have also been translated into Italian, German, and (very soon) Turkish.

Please, do, enjoy the read!

Book 9.... Another chapter of a big story and definitely better if you are reading book after book to feel the story growing and shaping
  • Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 31 May 2018

By this point in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School series my addiction is obvious. I may not be the biggest lover of serial series, but any series with dragons in is sure to win me over. Thus, I continue to dive in, desperately needing answers of how things are going to come together.

Dragon School: First Flight, book one, sucked me completely into the world – it was so much more than I’d expected, and I couldn’t wait to get more. Dragon School: Initiate, book two, sucked me in even deeper – it showed me there was more to the story than I’d originally thought, ensuring I would pick up the next. Dragon School: The Dark Prince, book three, was a very important book in the series – it may not have been my favourite book, but it was vital to the overall story. Dragon School: The Ruby Isles, book four, continues to move things forward in a wonderful way – it may not be my favourite of the stories, but it is another important addition. Dragon School: Sword, book five, was another brilliant read, adding more to the series – it was also the book that reminded me why I was following the series in the first place, pulling me back in after a short hiatus. Dragon School: Dusk Covenant, book six, added plenty of new twists – more than enough to ensure I remained ensnared with the story. Dragon School: First Message, book seven, brought even more to the table – more was added to the storyline, plenty of things leaving me curious as to what would come next. Dragon School: Warring Promises, book eight, left on a serious cliff-hanger – all of the books leave on a cliff-hanger, but this was probably the biggest of them all.

Therefore, I was more than happy to dive into book nine. As with the prior books, Dragon School: Prince of Dragons, was an enjoyable quick read that left me desperate for more. I will be honest and say this is probably my least favourite of the series thus far – in fact, I was feeling generous and rounded this rating up from a three-point-five-star rating – but it did continue to add some goodies to the series. As ever, we were given new information, mystery, action, great characters, and an ending that leaves us more than willing to dive into what comes next.

I think the reason I enjoyed this one less than I have enjoyed the prior books is because of the romance element. It wasn’t in your face, but it was much more obvious than it has been in the other books. I’m really not shipping it, sadly, and I felt as though it pulled away from the other fun stuff that was going on. Sure, plenty happened, but I felt as though the events in this one were not as explosive as things that have occurred in the prior books. I enjoyed things, yes, but I was not blown away by things and had hoped for much more considering how the prior book ended.

Nevertheless, I continue to be excited by this series and cannot wait to dive into the tenth book.

I've read all of the Dragon School series. Mea culpa, I haven't reviewed them all, but this episode deserves a special mention. The banter and relationship between Amel and Raolcan is an absolute delight, entertaining and witty and strong as a rock underneath it all. I laughed out loud several times.

After Raoclan told Amel that he is the Prince of Dragons, there is no rest for the group. Rakturan has to leave Savette and Leng Amel. The girls set off to Lendris City but their way to there is full of obstacles. Amel makes a decision not easy to understand but essential for the story to continue. Deceit is everywhere.

My goodness. If I thought the other stories were an adrenaline rush this was a hundred times more. Such tension and excitement in a short story and a cliffhanger of an ending.
    Absolutely fabulous.

Amel and Raolcan continue their battle in book 9 of this wonderful Dragon School Series. I definitely recommend that you read this series in order as each short book builds into a magnificent saga full of action, adventure and danger. The characters and storytelling are engaging and entertaining with touches of humour and humour as well. This book builds to a dramatic end .. and a cliffhanger. It's a good job that a new story is released every eighteen days. This book and series is not to be missed.

Another great instalment in the series where we learn a little more about just who Raolcan is and what has happened to Hubric. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I seem to have read a different story from other people because I didn't enjoy this one at all. I didn't find the ending particularly engaging - I definitely don't feel desperate to read the next instalment. And I don't believe Amel's romance at all. She's only sixteen, she's only known Leng for a matter of weeks, and she's ready to throw herself at him - and he her. Savette and Rakturan make a perfectly plausible couple, given the arcane matters at play, but I just don't see the other romance happening. Add the fact that the book desparately needs to be properly proofread to weed out the typos, as well as repeated and incorrect words, and I am happy to give up on the series at this point. As I've said in an earlier review, I think the price is exorbitant for what you get, and the sloppy production leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So here I stop.

5.0 out of 5 stars There is romance after all!
Reviewed in the United States on 6 May 2018

This was a somewhat calmer book, I assumed before another storm. It also contains more romantic content than any of the previous stories. Amel and Leng met again and actually got to spend a short time together during the regrouping period after the dramatic events of the last book.
Savette and Rakturan have a tough decision to make but ever since the life-changing events in Vanika, several books ago, they present a united front and come up with a creative solution for some of their challenges.
Amel is left to her own devices and no other support than that of her fiercely loyal dragon. She has grown and developed skills and she is holding her own. That is quite fortunate, because as I assumed towards the end of the book, crazy action resumes and Amel and her friends are once again tossed into the mercy of circumstances.
This story gives more insight into the world of dragons and reveals some interesting facts about Raolcan. The author finishes this story with the most shocking ending yet, and the appearance of one special person will put any doubts to rest whether the war is coming.
This amazing series only makes sense if read in order, which is: Dragon School: First Flight (Dragon School #1), Dragon School: Initiate (Dragon School #2), Dragon School: The Dark Prince (Dragon School #3), Dragon School: Ruby Isles (Dragon School #4), Dragon School: Sworn (Dragon School #5), Dragon School: Dusk Covenant (Dragon School #6), Dragon School: First Message (Dragon School #7), Dragon School: Warring Promises (Dragon School #8), Dragon School: Prince of Dragons (Dragon School #9), Dragon School: Dark Night (Dragon School #10), Dragon School: Bright Hopes (Dragon School #11)and more books have been announced.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heroine with a disability partnered with intriguing purple dragon

Always great to get to know Raolcan better. He's one of the most intriguing dragons I've ever met. And I love reading about dragons!
However, I feel the designation Dragon SCHOOL is a misnomer, since only the first title was actually set in a school.
A pity she took the series away from the school, by the way. It was a great set-up. I keep hoping for Amel and Raolcan to go back there some day. A vain hope, I now begin to see.
Amel is a great character too. I love it that she has a disability and still manages to be an action heroine.
Though I wonder how she can manage with just ONE crutch when her entire leg is lame.
    Still, Fantasy is Fantasy!

I am currently awaiting the next release and I must admit that this has turned out to be a much better storyline than I had thought it would be. We all love to see an apparent underdog rise to the top and Amel is doing her very best to do that. The romance is sweet and handled well to be enjoyable for all ages. My only wish is that the stories weren't so short and didn't have cliffhangers. Fortunately, each new episode in the story is not too long in coming. I hate it when I have to wait a year or so for the next book in a series to come out.

Oh, how well you have made my heart begin to race on behalf of the Purples, for Savette, even the Dominar. The masses of Ifrits... How often must they be forced to face them?

I am so incredibly hooked on Amel's story, it's hard not to block out the rest of my responsibilities to binge read the rest... And then, start on Sarah K.L. Wilson's next series.
