About the author

Kate Fitzroy has two lives. One in a flinty Victorian cottage in Newmarket, where she awakes to the clatter of horses' hooves as strings of racehorses pass early each morning. Kate's other life is played out in a Napoleonic manor set in a sleepy village amongst the vineyards of the Loire valley.
Her life has not always been so blissful. Widowed at the age of twenty-one, already with two children to love and protect, she fought her way up as hard a path as any of her heroines. Now happily married and surrounded by a large, loving family, Kate enjoys every moment of every day... CARPE DIEM... TEMPUS FUGIT.... or should that be CARPE MOMENTUM? - Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 June 2015I really enjoyed this book. I have read all of Kate's books and am planning a trip to Provence next Summer. I too live part of my time in France but in Lot Valley. Kate captures the essence of life in France. I loved the fact that all the towns and villages are real and I could look them up on a map! I have also just finished Dreams of Tuscany which was also delightful. I loved the Idioms and Paolo.
I am looking forward to her next book.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2015I read Perfume of Provence first & am now totally hooked on Kate Fitzroy novels, working my way through them all! A lovely story about the ups & downs of love & romance & an insight into the Provence area. I like the way that each novel she's written has a link to some of the characters from each book. Would recommend reading in order of print date, but not a necessity.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 July 2015Lovely story well researched. I could imagine the places that the author took me to and could almost smell the paints and cleansers in the artists workshop. Well worth reading
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 May 2015Have read all the Provence books and thoroughly enjoyed them, looking forward to the next one
- just wish they were a little longer.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 January 2018The story was good and the characters very likable. It left me wanting more. However, the lack of proof reading was really annoying. There were misspellings and bad spacing throughout the book and words and phrases were either repeated or incomplete
Such a shame as this spoilt an otherwise good read.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 July 2017As mentioned in earlier reviews - readers should read the whole Provence series. Would highly recommend.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 May 2015A lovely story, very relaxed read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Did no one proof this book?
There are misspellings and grammatical errors on almost every page. It is extremely distracting to try to read and translate at the same time. It is a shame that errors were not corrected before release, but it's not too late! The novel itself was fine for summer reading, in my opinion.
