Catahoula: Shallow End Gals (New Orleans Series, Shallow End Gals Book 4) Kindle Edition
The Chief prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney General's office, is Sabastian Delacroix. He had been nicknamed Catahoula by the New Orleans press as praise for his courtroom style of cunning, lethal attacks; much like the famous Louisiana Catahoula dog breed.
A high profile murder from eight years ago was never brought to trial. The accused murderer, Ed Meyer, was declared dead in the 2005 prisoner transfer during Katrina. Alive, but in hiding, Ed brings evidence of his innocence to the only man he trusts. Ed risks everything that Cat will believe him.
A rogue lawyer at his core, Cat follows his gut instincts to secretly investigate Ed's case. Cat ignites a storm of twisted, deadly events by depraved, cold-blooded killers determined to keep the past a secret. The City of New Orleans, infested with people of criminal intent, focus their terrifying powers on Cat. This action-packed thriller follows Cat chasing justice against all that is dead wrong.

About the author

The 'Shallow End Gals' are now internationally known authors of mystery and thrillers!
We sit at the short end of our neighborhood bar for storytelling and lunch a few times per week. This is where our stories are born and alcohol is not involved. There are now four of us; Teresa Duncan, Vicki Graybosch, Linda McGregor and Kimberly Troutman. On February 27, 2013 our friend and co-author Mary Hale unexpectedly passed.
Mary is the one in our picture with the white hair and a halo behind her. She was a retired teacher, a retired realtor, an inspirational friend and the first one to burst into song with the faintest of prompting.
Teresa Duncan is a professional with UPS, a world traveler, a fierce supporter of humanity, and the living definition of friend. Teresa has never met a stranger and has an acute curiosity about people and life. Teresa is definitely who you want to 'have your back' in times of need.
Linda McGregor is a retired mortgage professional, an employee of local government and a staunch supporter of family, human rights and the plights of the less fortunate. Gifted in crafts and art and blessed with an expansive sense of humor. Linda is a born negotiator.
Vicki Graybosch is a retired mortgage professional and an avid researcher. Her life experiences and observations of the world primarily come from her computer and the comfort of her desk chair these days. Blessed with the type of mind that seeks to unearth the unique and reshape it into something humorous or memorable, she has assumed the role of placing pen to paper for the group.
Kimberly Troutman, Vicki's daughter, is a full time dealer at the local casino and much too young to be retired from anything. Her role in our group is to contribute her youthful perspectives, humor, and temper our devious plots.
The collective imaginations are powerful. The honest sharing of deeply held convictions is inspirational and motivational. Our goal is to tell stories in such a way that readers feel they have become one of our characters. We do not define our character's race. All sex is behind closed doors and cursing is held to a minimum. Sound boring? Buy a book and hang on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Series
Love, love the entire series. Has mystery, drama and above all humor. The ending surprised me --- I had missed that fork in the road to determine "who" had started the series of events rolling. Well written. Recommend it to all!

3.0 out of 5 stars A HARD TO FOLLOW NOVEL SET IN NEW ORLEANS, WITH A VERY LARGE CAST OF CHARACTERS AND A SEEMINGLY MIXED UP STORY..
Well, this is one tough story to read and assimilate. Set in New Orleans, and written as a collaboration by four authors, it is full of stories upon stories, and characters upon characters, all seemingly going in all directions I'm sure there's a main story in here someplace, but quite frankly, I'm not able to figure out what it really is. The book is not x-ray enabled, and with litterally a ton of players, it starts to run together and difficult to follow. Including the four angels, yes Angels, who are key players, come and go as they please, can be seen/heard by key people and supposedly possess forensic equipment. So, it appears to me that people come, go and crop up seemingly all over the place, in a continuation of some part of the story, or starting something else. So much so to the point that I'm giving up trying to follow the book at the 55% mark, and I'm moving on to something else. I've just gotten lost in what I personally preceive to be a very confusing novel. Maybe I'm just tired. . . . .But while I'm sure others won't have the difficulties I'm experiencing, I've given three stars based on the author's effort, and because I'm sure that buried in here somewhere there's a main story. Were it x-ray enabled, I might have been able to follow it simply by keeping the players in better perspective Sorry about that.

4.0 out of 5 stars A read worth the price.....
I have read most of the books written by these authors, and CATAHOULA tops them all. I have enjoyed experiencing the growth as authors these women have shown. In this book, while the angels still figure as a base of the book, other characters are allowed to help carry the book along at an interesting pace. CATAHOULA is a fascinating character, a bit of a maverick, one true to his principals, and the most developed in the cast of characters. (As it should be). Izzy, a delightful side-story, only adds to the book rather than detract. The authors used her well in characterization. I did have one semi-major complaint with the book. There simply are too many major characters to easily track. I bought the Kindle book, so I was not aware that a cast of characters was included at the end. Because there were so many, occasionally a scene or two seemed contrived just to give everyone a justification for their presence.
I certainly would recommend the book to others. It would be best though if this is a first-purchase for a reader,
to read "Alcohol Was Not Involved" first. It establishes the foundation for the books that follow.
I look forward to their next book.
